Narragansett Surf and Skate is an "old school" spin-off from the Watershed sans Dave Levy- its taken its lumps and changed its name from Gansett Juice after a series of financial misfortunes but it still has that unique "we have been here forever feel". This is especially true when Ed Logee is behind the counter. It is owned by Peter Pan and family but really the younger generation has taken over and Conrad Ferla (aka Kung Fu Panda) has stepped up with a large online social angle- getting da word out. Conrad is witty, politically irreverent and worth a visit just to exchange barbs. He is also a great surfer and along with trustafarian Kyle Halavik and the Pan clan run the joint. This shop has a great feel but lacks the sophistication, inventory and brands of Warm Winds. Its hard to compete with Warm Winds but nevertheless they have carved out a small niche- worth a look to see if their inventory matches up with your needs. You might just get lucky. They sell on price and love cash so bring plenty and always bargain as you can really get rock bottom deals on last years styles, obscure brands or close-out inventory.

I love the vibe here. Down to earth employees and no pressure sales pitches make this a warm shop to visit. Try their rentals at gansett beach. Good people. I miss Edgar and we wish him well. Ill probably be buying a board here.

Took a group surfing lesson and couldnt believe I was able to ride a few waves on the first lesson. For $10 more I could use the board for the last few hour of the day. Conrad was our amazing instructor. Thanks again!
