I was a loyal customer at the store for at least three or four years. One day I walked in there to pick up a prescription and the assistant manager is standing at the door waiting for me. I say hello as I usually do and begin to walk toward the pharmacy when he stops me. Although he knew me, he asked me my name. I looked at him curiously, as if he were making a joke, but he had this dead serious look on his face. So I told him my name and he said to me; Im sorry but I cant allow you in the store. Once again, thinking this was a joke, I smiled and said why, is there a fire or something going on? To which you replied, no Im serious, we received a letter from our corporate office saying youre not allowed in here anymore - and as a matter of fact, Im going to have to ask you to leave not only the store about to leave the property entirely. I was in shock and disbelief, but I complied with his request. As we walked out the door together he apologized for having to do this, but said it was beyond his control. If you didnt do what the corporate office had directed him to do, he could lose his job. It was at that point I asked, whats going on? Do you have a number I could call to clear this up? You know me and we both know this has to be some kind of mistake. He then pulled a piece paper from his pocket and handed it to me saying, I knew youd ask about this and I want you to know its confusing for me as well, because I received no answer when I asked the corporate office can you tell me why this is happening? I know this customer and cant think of any reason why this should happen! To make a long story short, the corporate office offered no reason whatsoever for taking this action, instead they told me, were not even allowed to speak to you on the telephone. So there you have my story, I spent tens of thousands of dollars in this establishment only to one day be removed from the premises with absolutely no explanation or idea why this occurred. And with no answers forthcoming Ive moved on and I actually found Id been spending far too much money in this store. Now I go someplace different, different faces better prices Im just as convenient - but I still dont feel as if I was even in America on that day, it was more like living in Russia during the Cold War everything was secret and everything was senseless they asked me to leave on one day and Ill never go back again. And on the day they tear of the store down, I assure you Ill be present with my camera and Ill have a smile on my face. Because change is inevitable.
