Ive been a customer of Steins Florist for many, many years. I grew up in Philly but have lived in Florida for the last 15 years. Ive ordered flowers from Steins for my mother who is still living in Philly, for every occasion, most recently Mothers Day. I called and placed an order for Mothers Day flowers on the morning of May 6th. I was told the flowers would be delivered on Saturday the 7th. On Sunday the 8th when I called to wish my mother a happy Mothers Day I was disappointed to be told that the flowers I had send didnt yet arrive. I called Steins and was told by the woman I spoke with (didnt give her name) that they were "on the truck" and should arrive soon. I actually heard her on the radio speaking with the driver who said, "he had the order." Well ... they never arrived. I called Steins early Monday morning (the 9th) and was told by Thomas they he would research the status of the order and would call me back "in a few minutes." Two hours later I called back and was told that Thomas wasnt at his desk. I left a message asking for a call back with the status of my previous call. After another hour I called back and Thomas answered the phone. He told me he still had not had time to research the order and said he needed more time. I told Thomas that since the order had (obviously) never arrived, to cancel the order and requested that a credit be applied to my credit card. I was told by Thomas that it would be taken care of. On the 11th I called my credit card company who confirmed they had not received any credit to my account by Steins, and had the credit been submitted by Steins as I had requested, it would have hit my account by this time. I requested that the charge be placed in dispute. Its now May 17th and after checking with my credit card company, still no credit has been applied to my charge account by Steins. It goes without saying that after being a (very) faithful customer for so many years, theyve destroyed my confidence in their ability to (literally) deliver after being told "it was on the truck." Ill find another florist for the next occasion who is capable of giving me reliable information. Not only was I disappointed in Steins abilities to follow through but my mother was VERY disappointed on Mothers Day thinking that I had forgotten her on her special day. How sad and very disappointing.

My girlfriend was 39 yrs old last year. For her special day I ordered one rose for each year of age, 39 red roses to be delivered to her office. She’s a Police Detective for Philadelphia. When they arrived the roses had brown edges and just looked old and not so beautiful. Incidentally they were about $175.00. I was disappointed and decided not to use Stein’s again. This year I received a call from one their sales reps. informing me that I ordered flowers around this time last year and if I’d like to place an order this year. I explained my experience and the woman assured me that this year’s flowers would be incredible and that she would personally see to it that the roses were perfect. I figured I’d give them another chance. This year I sent her 40 roses for her birthday. Only when the roses arrived, they had a huge Happy Anniversary sign attached to them. REAL NICE! Oh, and this year, they cost me $198.00. “Fool me once… This time I called to complain, they offered to send balloons. I don’t need balloons. I need what I order to be of the quality for which I am paying. The best they could do was a $50 refund. The best I can do, is not return to Stein’s. Money is too hard to come by to waste.

I often shop at Steins for all my floral needs so I know this would be the place to get my wedding flowers from. Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers and were to be my main flower. The consultant suggested I add wonderful deep blue roses. They matched my ladies dresses perfectly. So the bouquet was designed. When the bouquets came my wedding day, all be it beautiful, it was mostly roses with very little hydrangeas which was not what I wanted. So when I called to advise them of the mistake I was not looking for money or store credit just an apology that somewhere, something, went wrong. Instead the own he stated he called me two days prior to the wedding and conformed the flowers. In this call this was no mention of which flower I wanted most. Then he said he was looking at what was written that there was only one hydrangea to my bouquet. Blaming me was far from professional because I took what his consultant said. I advised the owner I was just looking for an apology and he said he just wanted to see what went wrong. Instead of doing that with me he should have done that with his employee. I am now very sad that these people got my money. Marie Pingue

My wedding was on Saturday August 7th at the Merion, and I couldnt have asked for such a wonderful day! The flowers were beautiful and exactally what I wanted and more! When I made my appointment for my consultation I was a little nervous becuase I dont know much about flowers. I sat with a very nice and accomidating women named Michelle. She helped me every step of the way from my bridal bouquet down to the centerpieces on each table. She even managed to keep the price within my budget which was a huge help. Everyone that I met that helped decorate my wedding we all extremley friendly and made me feel like they really cared about me and my big day. People that went to my wedding are still talking about the flowers when I see them and many of them tell me that they are going to be switching their florist because they were so impressed. I couldnt be happier that I picked Steins as my florist for my wedding and I will contiune to use them in the future for all of my flower needs. Thank you Steins for my perfect wedding day!

Went to them for two Mothers Day boquets I saw on their website. When I got there I looked around to see if the boquets I wanted were already pre-made, they were not. So I go up this older gentleman and show him two pictures of them. I asked him if they were already pre-made and if not can I put in an order to have them made up, he looks at me and says "Cant you just pick out something already on display?" I thought this was very unprofessional and lazy considering they are a florist and one of their many job duties is to make up boquets. I of course said no, so he precedes to show me this pre-made boquet that he considered similar. The flowers on this thing were just awful, not lively at all, they didnt look fresh and the water in the vase was murky. All and all I was not happy with my first experince at Steins and probably wont go back.

I can assure you, I will NEVER order from this place again. I am from out of town and have ordered from them several times, as has my family who lives in the area. I attended a funeral recently and looked around only to see that our flowers were not there. I called them immediately and received and extremely rude response that went like this "I dont know what to tell you...we delivered them"; our conversation continued and the rudeness continued. Even the funeral director called them directly while we sat in her office. We have yet to receive a credit -- I can assure Stein Florist that I AM NOT going away and a credit will be given. If this is how they treat their customers, I wouldnt be surprised to see their doors close at some point -- who wants to be treated like this?
