For over 5 years, I frequented this cafe. I loved the decor, the food and especially the quiche until recently. I came in as I always do to work or meet a customer or potential client. I quivered with expectation of finally being able to stop in to sample one their cute quick cuisine quiche specials. Then as I quietly conducted business with my client the serene fabric of the place was broken by the owner screeching at one of her employees. My customer and I, were immediately offended that this owner would speak to anyone in her tone and mannerisms. Her disgruntled behavior was reminiscent of my children before they knew the proper etiquette to display in public as well as common courtesy given to others when correcting them. Well, little did we know that we were next on the hit list to be screeched at and scorned. It seems the cafe was in the midst of a change of art work on the walls. The owner unceremoniously asked us to move. As we were about to conclude our business, we asked if we could move in a few minutes. She mistook our response to be no and began to raise her voice at us that we were the only ones that wouldnt comply with her Demand. Because of the earlier episode, my client was shocked, offended and angered at her infantile attempt to shame us and manipulate us. She all but jumped up and down and rolled on the floor. Of course what ensued was a shouting match, we left vow never to come again while other patrons try to dissuade us that she did not mean this. As I have frequented the area many times, I spoke with close sources in the area and found out this is not the first time for such altercation with employees as well as customers. Patrons beware for you may be the brunt of her next rave.....two thumbs down and if I had more thumbs they would go there!!!!!

I am appalled and flabbergasted to say the least. My colleagues and I sat at a table this morning for 15 minutes. My two colleagues arrived 10 minutes before me and told the waitress that they would decide on what to order once I arrived. When I get there my colleagues and I immediately jump into a conversation - the waitress never followed up to see if we were all ready to order, instead the owner Kat, walked over to us and said in a very disrespectful manner that weve been here for 30 minutes (which was not accurate), and that we can NOT sit here and just talk - she snatched the menus off the table, my two colleagues were startled and told her that they had intentions on buying breakfast (but with her disgusting behavior they wouldnt dare buy anything from her). Kat, proceeded to open the door, had the menus in her hand, motioning us to leave and yelled for us to get out! I frequent this coffee shop on many occasions. My colleagues and I are residents and entrepreneurs in Lansdowne and could never imagine treating our customers the way The Regency treated us today. I will NEVER return and I will make sure that EVERYONE I do business with in Lansdowne knows about the horrible experience I just encountered!

I am extremely disappointed that I have to write this poor review. After YEARS of frequenting this business, I was sadden and shock to hear of the behavior of the Regency’s manger/owner. Now, just for background knowledge, this customer visits this café at least twice a week. I myself stop in at least three to four times a month. Today I was horrify to find out that the manger/owner of the establishment yelled at a frequent customer who was waiting for a client to arrive before ordering anything. The manger not only publicly yelled and scolded the customer (rather loudly, l may add) but she abruptly and aggressively threw the customer out. As a community member, I am embarrassed for the town of Lansdowne. This business is not any representation of the love and respect this town has for one another! I have no interest in continuing to support this place and after reading some of the reviews, I suggest you reconsider as well.

The entrees I could take or leave, preferably leave as I can make better, more flavorful sandwiches at home for the fraction of the price. Their deserts and drinks are another matter. The Italian sodas they make are delicious, especially with the whipped cream on top, and I would definitely recommend it. The building itself has a nice atmosphere, but whenever Ive been there, as far as the employees go, its basically hipster central. Youll be aware of whether or not youre cool with it your self, but to me, it just results in the environment being kind of cold, and kind of "try to hard." I think its really nice that they display works from artists, and when I went a while back, there was a concert, so its got interesting things like that going for it... I dunno.

I used to rate Regency 5 stars and visited once or twice a week. Since the beginning of 2015 this place has steadily and consistently gone downhill. The "new" manager (whom I never saw prior to 2015 but claims to have been "doing this for 23 years") is weirdly aggressive and scolds anyone and everyone she feels deserves it, even customers. Im not very comfortable eating here anymore, and it doesnt help that the food and service have slowly gotten worse under her rein.

I sat down waiting on a friend, didnt order yet, 15 mins later my friend arrived, we had a brief conversation preparing to order the owner comes up to us and tells us we had to leave because we havent eaten anything yet . She didnt even offer food, she just said leave, actually stands at the door wide open and rudely tells me to stop talking when I ask if we could order. Ive never been so disrespected for no reason. If you want rude service, this is your place.

I arranged to host a bookclub here. I emailed the owner a month in advance and thru email we arranged a time that would work for both of us. I reminded her 2 weeks before with the number I was expecting, and all was well. When we arrived today she said she was going home early and to come back tomorrow. Then proceeded to scream at me (scream). Thank goodness the great staff at the avenue deli were able to accommodate us on no notice.

My wife and I (both 25yrs old) love to relax, use free wifi, drink good coffee, and eat remarkably tasty treats at the Regency. Rather than background music with incessant, distracting jazz solos, they tend toward mellow, hipster-type tunes like Iron and Wine, The Postal Service, Modest Mouse, or the Decemberists. Enjoyable local place. Id go more than once a week if I didnt work in Berwyn :P Great artwork/photos displayed, too!

The food was very good, it was clean and cozy very friendly staff especially the manager of the place very friendly I also wanted to add that theres a particular associate there thats very humble and very friendly and has a genuine customer awareness to her! She adds to the friendly magnetic atmosphere that I feel when I come in. No need to say names this person knows who they are!
