Purchased a new bicycle from REI at 200 W Ridge Pike Ste 115, Conshohocken, PA 19428. It was a Novara Madrona 29er, size small. Now days, this is a pretty unique bike as it is one of the few 29er left in this size for women. We wanted a 29" tire for many reasons, including the fact that it is what we have on all the other bikes. Most new women bikes, including REI 2015 model, are moving to 27.5". We were quite excited to find a good performance 29er bike for a very competitive price. This is to be our very first purchase from REI and we opted to have the bike ship directly to the store. There were a number of errors made in the shipping/delivery/assembly process. We were very frustrated at the end. Brandon, the bike mechanic in the store, wanted to make sure we were happy. What happened next really amazed us. Brandon help setup our bike so that we can easily use it in our indoor trainer or off road. Brandon figured out what would make this customer believe in REI. When they said "100% satisfaction", they meant "200%".

Worst store ever bad customer service ! I went there for a few camping and hiking gear items . Only one person stopped to ask if they could help . He was very short with his help he took me over to the cooking area and pointed to what I had asked for and walked off . I tried to find a few other things in the store and the only people that greeted me with a hello was the other customers . The employees were walking rite past me ask as I was trying to ask for help . I will never give REI any of my busines ever again . I found the closest EMS store . They were more than happy to help me and the greeted me soon after I went in the store .

The staff is always great... if you can manage to find someone. The selection of womens climbing gear is just plain insulting. Youll find about 12 pairs of mens climbing shoes ranging from recreational to pro, but only about 3 pairs of womens shoes and none of them are high quality or for anything beyond beginner climbing. They also lack any real options for hardcore womens hiking shoes. Girls go outside too! They need to carry more than just clothes and vanity accessories for women.

I came here to buy some hiking boots as Ive wanted to start hiking but I have a tendency to roll my ankles! I explained what I was looking for and Jody (Jodi? Sorry, Im not sure of the spelling!) went through the pros and cons of various boots according to my needs. She then explained how to properly fit a hiking boot and gave me plenty of individual attention, making sure I was satisfied without ever being pushy or condescending! Ill be shopping here for as long as Im hiking!

Look, this store is just okay. Their employees are reasonably helpful, and if you catch a sale, you can get stuff for sane, realistic prices, but how anyone can afford to buy stuff regularly from this place at full price is beyond my understanding. I mean... their prices are freaking insanely high. Also, depending on when you go, you may be overcome by the smell of patchouli from... lets just call them "outdoorsy" fellow customers - and this place can get crowded.

After shopping around for a while you start to know where to get certain things... That said, when you want some high end things and top quality you can find it at REI. They do have sales and their store brand clothing is affordable. I pop in for bike parts mostly. And their bike repair center has not done me wrong yet. Plus, the people are nice and you dont have the standard snobbery that comes with most bike shops/ shop workers.

I love REI, and am a member, but this store just plain sucks. Ski shop attendants are very good at telling you what they CANT do, instead of what they CAN do, and change their story every time you stop in. The store does carry quality gear, however, if you need to have something done at a ski shop, go to another Ski shop in the area, youll be treated much better, trust me.

High quality outdoors gear, and good selection too. My wife and I have gotten a significant portion of our camping gear here. If you like the outdoors, its worth becoming a member - you earn dividends back on all purchases (basically a delayed-action discount), and get access to better deals. Pays for itself quickly with even a few purchases.

I love REI so much that I try to stop there every time I am n the area. If you have never been then it is a must. If you had a bad experience, which I cant imagine, give them another chance. Out doors and more, you wont be disappointed. They even give you a kick back if you sign up for their loyalty program.

I bought asolo boots online at a discount rate. later on, i found they were not the right size. this store exchanged those boots with me instead of charging extra even though they were not on clearance any more. Thank you for the great customer service, this is much appreciated!!

@John - I dont work for REI - never have - but Ive been a member since 2003, and I can say that these reviews are probably legit, because REI is just that good. Im in love with this store, and I know a lot of other people are as well.

This location is excellent for me. People have told me that this REI closed down, and I just kind of shrugged it off! I come here every so often. Great selection of running shoes & socks as well as equipment and accessories!

I love REI, I am also a member, only draw back to this location is the parking! Store is located in a strip mall with many other popular stores and a grocery store. Parking can be hard to come by depending on day or time

The five stars is for the bike shop only. Rest of the store seems ok. But Eric and the guys on the bike shop know what their doing and will go the extra mile for the customer. Hard to find service in a shop like this.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Store is well laid out and was practically empty when I visited which is unusual for REI. Love REI branded products and their commitment to outdoor education and conservation.

The people here are the best they are always willing to help. The prices are a little high but prices are always high for these sort of things. They have good perks for members and often have special sales.

I love this store. Great helpful staff. Been a member since shopping the original REI store on s hiking trip in the Northwest. Prices are high, but the member rebates and various events make up for that.
