Thank you, Walmart; youre so much better than the nearby Costco. I drove from Portland to Salem to witness that rare and beautiful phenomenon, the Solar Eclipse. Im a "member" of Costco, so I pulled off the highway early in the morning (around 07:00) to get some gas at a Costco store, and then decided to park my car in its utterly empty parking lot, so as to wait there for the event—after all, the main store was going to open only at 10:00, which is 18 minutes before the Moons shadow was going to capture the attention of everyone in the surrounding area. Yet, despite the fact that Im a member, and despite the fact that I made a purchase, and despite the fact that the parking lot was empty, and despite the fact that it was a rare event which would have hardly interfered with normal operating hours, Costco gave me the boot! Costco decided that it would be a good use of resources to employ a security guard specially to go around and tell anybody parked there to go elsewhere! So, I drove to the nearby Walmart, who welcomed me—and anyone else—with a smile and open arms. Indeed, Walmarts store was already open (as always); walking around Walmart was a great way to pass the time, and I ended up buying some kitchen supplies, too. After availing myself of Walmarts restroom, I ventured back out to Walmarts parking lot, where a myriad of people had parked their RVs, set up their lawn chairs, and pointed high-tech cameras at Sol, our beloved star. So, thank you, Walmart. Thank you for being a company that consistently provides an open, welcoming, profitable service for our society. Youve made our country a better place to live.

I just purchased new tires at Walmart. I dropped my pickup off. I was told that it would be 2 to 3 hrs and that I would receive a call when my truck would be finished. I was ok with that. I waited for a call. 2 to 3 hrs went by. No call. So I called. The phone rang for 2 minutes and nobody answered the phone in the tire service area. I called back right away and finally a person answered, telling me my pickup was ready. So I rushed to the store to get my pickup to find that they had closed at 8:00pm, doors were locked. So I had to go around to the front entrance to search for someone so that I could get my keys and pay for my new tires. Really inconvenient and horrible follow through. The lady that helped me inside was nice, and she said she would follow up with my complaint the next business day. Just a bit unprofessional I thought by the tire service folks. I expected a call. They failed on that part. Im happy with the tires not the service.

If I may make a suggestion: STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!! Any disabled person who visits this store is considered "fair game" for rude employees. TWICE, I have been to this store and TWICE I was treated rudely and in direct and gross violation of ADA Title III. TWICE I have been promised changes that never happened, or were quickly forgotten. If you want to be treated as a second-class human and be forced to fight for your basic rights against rude and uncaring staff, then this is your store. If you are disabled, drive a bit further to the South Commercial store where you will be treated as a normal human...not disabled or special, but "normal". I will NEVER set foot in this store EVER again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. The promises of "better training" and "all employees have been updated on ADA Title III provisions" are now falling on deaf ears.

I find greatness shopping at WallyWorld because of the fine people i get to see and them discount prices for thems little smokies and them thar big jars of pickled pigs-feet mama likes so much to chew while shes watching them nighttime kissing shows her girlfriends and her talks about when theys all here playing cards and talking about the hair thats started growing on their faces and other gross old lady talkin . And I dont need to get all gussied up like I do if Im going to MegaFoods or PriceChopper. Dont be lettin my wife, well she my cousin but we acts likes were married and that means my wife you know what I mean? Theres some days I get all gussied up and go down to WallyWorld, buy me a banana and act all flirty with it to the cute gals that works thar. I know they like it cause theys always giggles when I do it. Hahahaha!

We prefer the friendly and knowledgable staff at fredmeyers. Walmarts employees do not care about their jobs. The employees are rude and cant answer simple questions about where products are. Most of the time we get a "we dont stock that" answer, which would be fine except we then find the product after wandering around. The return policy is also sketchy. On multiple occasions we have tried to return a walmart branded unopened package just to be told they dont stock it and we have to return it to the store where purchased. No we didnt have a reciept but it we only wanted to exchange diapers gifted to us for the right size. IMO shop somewhere with slightly higher prices who respect their employees and their customers.

This is the best WalMart in Salem, in my opinion. Plenty of self-checkout keeps the lines short at all times. I have found that the South Salem location on Commercial has issues with long lines at times. For whatever reason, I also feel safer in this parking lot compared to the other 2 WalMarts in Salem. The Lancaster WalMart always feels sketchy- Ive seen shattered car windows on the ground too much out there. And I think its something about the lighting at the South Salem one that makes me feel uncomfortable. The front of the building just feels dark at night, maybe there arent enough parking lights. Either way. They did a great job on the Turner Road one. Good WalMart.

Worst customer service!! Also got stopped on my way out because I didnt have my box of diapers and baby wipes bagged. Your employee Tia asked to see my receipt I showed it to her and she then tried accusing me for "not" paying for my toilet paper! She then said that supposedly she was stopping customers without bagged items. While she held me on the side 7 customers passed with un-bagged items and she kindly said bye to them. Then she stopped another Hispanic woman and asked for her receipt but she was letting all the caucasion customers go by. I felt discriminated by her actions! Definitely the WORST walmart employee I have ever dealt with!!

First off, my entire trip here was to look for a case for my LG G6 phone... There were literally no LG cases in the electronics department. Also, being pregnant...I need to use the restroom more often, so I head to the back of the store restrooms, (following the signs all over) and theres a plywood door and padlock over the entrance saying it was temporarily closed. So, my husband and I proceeded to the front restrooms. The womens was trashed, and 2 of the 4 stalls were out of order. My husband said the mens restroom was much, much worse than any dirty bathroom ever should be. Seriously. Time to clean up your act, Walmart.
