This is a restaurant where your perspective upon entering will dictate your experience. It wont yield you world class traditional service, or works of culinary art. Enjoyment cant be based upon conventional scales. Enter this diner open minded, without assumptions from reviews, and you will likely appreciate the bewildering, otherworldly gem. The service is aggressively friendly and loud. The sweet old lady will yelp food orders at a man in the kitchen, and questions at you, with a shrill, tinny voice. She will likely check on you while you eat. Given the diminutive size and shape of the cafe, the room labeled "Office" could have been accurate...though it is, a restroom. The bottom dollar low prices and pleasant, odd service make this a restaurant worthy of exploring. My entrees were decent. The slice of apple pie, on the other hand, was outstanding, moist, and wore a perfectly soft, contoured, light-tan crust. This shop truly is a sight to see. I recommend it to the adventurous.

In the Center Neighborhood this the place for breakfast and coffee. This shop has what so many are missing these days, personality, warmth, familiarity and low prices. The sweets and baked goods are excellent and the coffee is much better than the coffee at 7 virtues down the street. The woman who runs the place is funny and warm and always remembers everyone. She gave me halls cough drops last time I came in with a cold! The food is really good and consistent and you get huge portions for very low prices. Breakfast is really really good but I personally love the deli sandwiches. The servings are huge, prices low and the ingredients are fresh. Check this place out and you will not be sorry!

This place is perfection. It reminds me of being at the counter in my Grandmothers kitchen waiting for another one of her delicious home cooked meals. The family that owns this place couldnt be more pleasant. I experienced excellent service that seemed to go above and beyond. The woman who waited on us and served us came back and checked on us often and she was patient when I asked my favorite question to ask whenever I go out for breakfast: "do you have any peanut butter" [for the pancakes, duh]. The food was hot, fresh and absolutely delicious and it is never too crowded. I would go every day if I could!

Yes, the owners are awesome, and yes the coffee is killer, but honestly. If you think the food here is good, you need to eat out more. Its all cooked in a microwave, or on a tiny gas cooker. Dont get me wrong. I love the place. LOVE IT. Live next to it. Burgers are decent. Potatoes are AWFUL. Omelet and Bacon and Hash browns are all fake tasting. Still love the place, just picky with what I order. It all taste like its pre-frozen and microwaved. I think it is. *sigh*. Just being honest here.

Great place to get coffee or some food. Not your typical Portland coffee shop; owners dont allow laptops and there is no WiFi, also their system for processing credit and debit cards is archaic and adds a few extra minutes to the check out time. But aside from a few "quirks" this is a great neighborhood cafe.

Jun and her husband run this awesome cafe. She makes it a point to remember everyones name and always asks about my brother. Ive never been disappointed by the huge bagel sandwiches, delicious coffee, and exceptional customer service.

This place. Perfectly flawed. I adore this place! Been a patron for years. The couple who own and work the place are adorable if you just let go of your xenophobia. Will keep coming back for the easiest comfort breakfast foodz..

Perfect. Such a quirky little shop. Owners are funny and no- nonsense. Their food is really good for being made in a "non-kitchen kitchen". Bacon cheeseburger is freakin huge and only $5.50?!? So good!!

Dont tell your friends. Keep griping about the no wifi. Stay away. I will happily keep the peace and quiet and stuffing my face with comfort food for $5 all to myself and closest friends.

Nice, comfortable place, not pretentious like so many coffee shops are now. Great prices and flavorful coffee. Much better than the place across the street. Will definitely return.

One of our favorite places to get omelets. Lunch for four with drinks was under $20. Cant beat their prices. If youve never been, try it. You wont be disappointed.
