The biggest issue I have with the Portland Night Market is its success. The place was packed to the point where I felt trapped at times. I was interested in the vendors and what they were offering, but as often as not I would just skip on by because I didnt want to fight through the throngs of people for a sample or a conversation at one of the booths. Imagine going to Saturday Market, but its completely enclosed and theres a DJ playing from the loft, and youll get a good idea of what the Night Market is like. If you thrive off of crowds and a night-club like experience then youll probably enjoy it more than I did. I am, admittedly, and old man who would prefer to hear my companions and have the music in the background.

intensely crowded (think closing time at a baseball stadium), with nothing you really need to buy. lots of neat, kitschy crafts with high price tags make this a market for scenesters and middle-class liberals. keep an eye out for the much-much-shorter "Im not drinking" line to get in, and lots of people dressed up in cutting edge alt-fashion and creative costumes.

Think of this as a cooler/hipper version of the Saturday Market with lots of booze. Food is everywhere in tippical Portland food cart form. Im pretty sure I was able to get a solid buzz just form all the free liquor tastings. Rouge had a pretty solid stocked bar and most places take credit cards. If not I saw a couple of ATM machines.

So much fun! I have gone twice now it takes forever to find parking its very popular! But completely worth it! Lots of food trucks and places that serve cocktails and beer, wine and ciders! Tons of things to look at and buy I found my husband a pair of wood head phones for his birthday very unique and he loves them!

We didnt even have to wait in line to get in which was awesome! We always go in the non drinking door because its just not a very relaxing place to sit and have a cocktail. I always find something awesome when I go to these things which only happen a couple times every year.

Nice idea & excellent vendors. Far too crowded with people apparently desperate for free sips of booze or a free morsel of food, to be enjoyable during rush hours. Fortunately they open in the late afternoon if you want to be able to walk around.

What fun. Gifts, accessories, beverages and delish food all packed into several rooms and floors of an older warehouse space. Enough humans that it was full of life, not so many that you were discouraged from waiting in line for anything.

We need MORE night markets. It is currently full of so many wonderful vendors that the place is packed and ultimately causes me to spend less time/money there. Could also use more relevant recycling than battery recycling lol.

Very crowded on a Friday night which made it difficult to find parking. Too may people made it difficult to appreciate the merchandise. I would suggest to go early. Evenings are more of a drinking and eating destination.

Way too much hype for little quality venues. Poor crowd control and communication about entrance lines, re: bracelets for alcohol drinkers and those who were not. Only one floor of vendors, disappointing.

Similar to Portland Saturday Market, but uniquely eastside in a way thats hard to describe. The old produce row warehouse provides a feel thats very different from its weekly counterpart across the river.

Fun seasonal market with plenty of interesting booths. Lots of samples to try snacks, liquors, etc. Decent food cart selection. There can be a bit of a line to get in so dress appropriately.

The vendors were great but the event was crammed into way too small a space for the crowd it attracted. Basically shoulder to shoulder waiting on someone else to move so you could move.

Lots of food options, but super packed the night I went. Maybe always like that? Great local art. Possibly too much jewelry. Appreciated the open art space and photo booths in the loft.

Great place to spent time with friends. Great food. But space where they sell stuffs is crowded. But the building itself is awesome with solid wood beams, old styled elevators ...

Great place to check out locally made jewelry, chocolates, spirits. Maybe head out back and have some delicious food truck fare like Pastrami Zombie and some Dump Truck dumplings.

Love the local vibe. Hate how overcrowded it is. So much so that you cannot actually enjoy the event or see any of the vendor tables. Needs a bigger venue and/or a better layout.

Perfect place to get trampled in a stampede... Fire safety doesnt seem to be the highest priority on a busy Portland market night! Good food. Familiar vendors. Cool toilets

Crowded and with a huge line to get in. Then you get in and it is just the stalls of a farmers market with the added fun of drunk idiots walking around.

I enjoyed seeing a huge assortment of local crafts and I chowed down on some of the food available outside. Was fun, but got pretty crowded.

Really cool spot to try a plethora of foods and get some quality goods. Really crowded though, which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

Wish there was more vegan food available, lots of local beer options. Nice to just go in a group of friends and enjoy the Portland night.

Very fun! Come early or come late gets really packed. Have tons of vendors but the best part was the food. Be ready to eat!

Nice place to go look at local retailers. It seems that the market has become to commercialized. Still a fun place to go.

Crowded venue full with lots of stalls of local wares -- clothes, food, candles, furniture. You name it, its here!

Interesting place, interesting vendors. However, the clientele seems to have no clue how to move in a crowd.

Cool place. If you dont like big crowds, wait until after 9pm to show up. Parking is pretty bad!
