Firstly, I want to say that I have been going to Winco Food stores in various cities all my life and it has always been a good company and my favorite grocery store. Recently I moved to Corvallis, OR and started shopping at the Winco located here. At first, I noticed the poor state the produce was in. For example the corn always ended up being slimy and gross once we got it home and the bagged salad is always wilted and leaky at the bottom. The real problems began when my boyfriend bought some ground pork from this store and upon opening it I discovered that it was clearly rotten despite the fact that the expiation date was for seven day later (which is odd itself). We just threw the meat away and forgot about it. However, a few weeks later I purchased some flounder from the fish counter and right away I thought it smelled a little fishy but I decided to foolishly trust my favorite grocery store chain. I got the fish home and I had it actually frying in the pan when I noticed a small white WORM crawling in the flesh of the flounder! I immediately tossed it in the garbage and scrubbed everything the fish had touched, feeling quite sick. I called Winco right away and asked to speak to the manager. The "manager", who is named Chris, was very unapologetic and told me that I could get my money back if I brought the fish and my receipt in. I was upset so I had my boyfriend call back and talk to Chris. My boyfriend explained very nicely and clearly that we were just concerned about the safety issue and health risk and didnt want a refund. Chris proceeded to tell my boyfriend that he could get his money back, still no apology and no mention that he intended to fix the problem, and then HUNG UP on him! I no longer feel comfortable shopping at the Corvallis Winco and I am VERY concerned for the people who are purchasing unsafe food and eating it or feeding it to their kids. I am grateful that I caught that little parasite before I fed the founder to my boyfriend who has an autoimmune disorder and could have gotten very sick. Until changes are made here I would think before I shopped here and if you do happen to find yourself in the Corvallis Winco take a close look at the produce and meat departments and I think you will be surprised, and disgusted, by what you see.

Winco is easily one of the best grocery stores in Corvallis. My family and I have been shopping there for nearly a decade. The prices are always very reasonable and there is a lot of selection. I recognize and know many of the employees, as they have been working there a long time. The bulk food sections has a wide variety of items. The produce is typically well kept. The deli has a wide selection of fresh food. The meat section has fair prices on most any type of meat you would typically find in a grocery store. The dairy/frozen area both have plenty of items to choose from. Overall the store is kept in well maintained and updated. The lines at check outs are not usually long unless its around the 1st of the month and they have self-check outs.

I <3 their sammiches! Best pre-made subs Ive ever tasted. Shopping: I enjoy the layout, prices, and selection of this winco as it feels like a very natural experience for anyone whos a fan of costco. It gets really busy here so I prefer to shop hours that arent as busy. Service: The staff are about the same as you would find stocking any 24hour shopping location in a college town, most of em are professional and nice while a few arent so professional. Overall a good team. Summary: Not much to say, keep doin what you are doin WinCo, I look forward to the new Albany store!

This is, by far, the best grocery store located anywhere near Corvallis, Philomath and Albany. Their prices are unmatched, the customer service is great, and the store brand items are excellent quality. I moved to Albany and dont get to visit this store as often, but thank gawd theyre building one in Albany, now. WinCo doesnt have a pharmacy. They dont sell clothes or accept credit cards. They just sell groceries at a great price, and they do it better than anyone else.

They didnt even have it written like I wanted with the names and the saying. Looks like a 5th grader wrote it.. I will NEVER GET ANOTHER CAKE FEOM WINCO AGAIN NOR will I recommend people to them.. Its just plan horrible.. Wasnt worth the money.. Do not buy a cake from here if you want it decorated...

Best place to shop in town for your weekly grocery run. The prices are far better than anywhere else in Corvallis. Half as much as Safeway or Market of Choice. Their produce is good and they have a good selection of products. Try to avoid it during the weekend and evening because it gets really busy and the carts are huge. They dont have baskets or express lines so its hard to go for just a few things.

Winco is the best. You have to bag your own groceries here and they wont accept a credit card (debit aok). But... lowest prices, largest store, FRESHEST produce (highest turnover). I would even expect it to be the "GREENEST" of all the Corvallis markets (because of the economy/efficiency of scale). I could care less that my cashier isnt flashing me some fake smile and half-hearted greeting.

A careful comparison with Fred Meyers, Grocery Outlet, and others shows that while Winco prices can sometimes be low on certain items, they constantly cycle prices up/down, so you can pay 25 to 35% more on an item than the last time you shopped. They are definitely NOT always the lowest price grocer! I have also found their staff to be overworked and quite rude on several occasions.

I needed some essential oils that I am going to use in a rejuvenating musk for an antique leather trunk I found at Goodwill. I wanted something in citrus, Orange or Lemon. They didnt have pure orange or lemon but the kind woman who helped me on the phone told me they had two, one lemon one orange, that contained citrus oils and told me what else they had in it.

Cheapest Groceries in Corvallis. Quality, price, good customer service. All those other stores you need coupons or some kind of special to save money and you only get one or two items on your list. You can get it all here at a reasonable price without flailing around for cards or coupons.

Great prices but will not go back do to the cost of bags I know its only 5 cents a bag but when I spend $200 on groceries the least you can do is give me somthing to carry my goods home in........I am still a big fan of plastic bags they hold more and do not absorb water

This is a great store if you arent there when it is busy. They have low prices on just about everything, and a good selection of most types of items. The store is huge so it is not great for quick shopping trips.
