Despite what all the haters on this site are saying, I am a firefighter who took an old pair of duty boots in to have the zippers repaired. Not only did he upgrade the zippers for me, but as I asked questions about the boots that I had, and other brands, it became CRYSTAL clear that this guy knows shoes. He asked me if I had a moment and then took me further into the store to find a number of shoe models on which to demonstrate the things about which he was trying to inform me. He also talked about how todays throw away shoes have really put a crimp on his business because many simply cannot be repaired, as opposed to truly leather shoes with leather soles from days gone by. If they can be repaired, many times it is costly. But the guy has been in business for 30 years and continues to remain open so he clearly cant be as bad as everyone is saying. I had a great experience. I will definitely go back. And yes.. the guy is a little quirky - and the quirkiness I guess could come across as rudeness, but if you take the time with the guy and actually show some interest in HIM and HIS BUSINESS instead of your own damn selves, you might find that he will have a welcoming and even educating demeanor. He does GREAT work! :)

This store is a TOTAL waste of anyones time, the owner is down right rude and obnoxious. He was verbally abusive and threatening. I will NEVER do business with this place. I was swore at and told I was stupid, I have never seen such a lack of customer service in my life and when I left I couldnt help but wonder how he is still even in business. I have never written a review in my life but people need to be aware of this place and make sure to NEVER visit there and give them any business. and Yes there are other places to get shoe repairs done, contrary to his belief.

If I could give less than a 1 then I would. They have the dumpiest shoe store I have ever seen. Not to mention the service is terrible. The lady working the counter said, " if you are done playing around you can come to the counter" and that was to my 55 year old father. Seriously? Then she didnt even know what boots they had! Claimed they only had two steel toed boots in the whole store...when really they had about 12 different ones. Ugh. I am never shopping there again!

What everyone else is saying is true this guy is definitely a goof ball. Was in there in about 1990 and was treated horrible went in the other day just to see if anything has changed, nope, same goof ball just grayer. I think he lives just to F with people, sad. He probably knows his business very well so if your mind can get past his bullshit your feet my leave happy. But hey its hillbilly Ravenna what more can one say.

I have been going to this guy for years. I will be in town for two weeks and I am bringing my boots to him because I trust his work. Honestly I have never had such a good experience with any other cobbler ever. I have lived in Oregon for the past 6 years and now virginia and I swear by this guy. All of you haters on here are just uptight snobby humans who think you need to be pampered. Give credit where credit is due!

this shoemaker knows his profession, but be prepared for a rousing argument if you happen to disagree with him! Had the right shoes and boots Ive needed every time I visited, and the right size, which is hard for me to find. He also repairs very reasonably and quickly. It is NOT a glamorous store, but if you need good, hardworking footwear, this is a good local place to find them and to have them repaired

Worst experience ever. Should not be on the Redwing site as an authorized dealer. Smelly, dirty store. I would never, expect to be yelled at by a store owner. Redwing needs to rake them off their site! Hopefully they will, after my report. I only regret not calling from inside the store, so they could hear the insanity. Please, do not waste your time here. Also, complained about 3 other customers.

Took a pair of boots in to have resoled. Rubber was put on instead of the leather that I requested. He would not fix the mistake when I went in and asked him about it. Poor customer service, all around difficult to deal with.. I am all for supporting local business however this was a very disappointing interaction.
