I am NOT a happy customer. My furniture was finished on June 5th, but did not ship til June 26th because they needed to wait for enough orders from the same factory to make it worthwhile to ship from California. Thats not unreasonable, and I would not have minded had they told me from the outset that this would happen. Well, my furniture is finally at their warehouse, but they cant deliver it to my home until they make some modifications on one of the pieces that I paid extra for. I was told that they first have to take a look at it and see what sort of "tools" they need to order to do the work. "Tools?" I assume they mean materials, but theyve had a solid 9 weeks to take care of this and make any necessary preparations prior to taking delivery from California. I was told when I ordered that the modifications would take two, or three days and then my furniture would be delivered to my home without delay. Now Im told they first have to order "tools" and then see about getting the work done and not to expect delivery for up to two more weeks! I thought Id have delivery by the end of THIS week since it was only supposed to take two or three days to make the modifications. Based on this, I had to PAY someone $50 to haul off my old furniture. Had I been told the truth from the start I could have waited until the Cleveland Furniture Bank had a truck in my area and I could have had my old furniture hauled off for free. Thats $50 down the drain! I suspect that they are playing the same game with me that they played in shipping from California. They are telling me that they come to my area twice a week, but I bet they wont come unless they have a full truck! I think I could have my furniture within a week at most, but they are waiting until they have enough product going out to my area in order to make it more profitable to deliver. . I PAID for delivery. Why cant I have the pieces that are ready now and deliver the rest later? UPDATE Well you know what they say about the squeaky wheel and nobody can squeak like me. I didnt even have to utter those magic words "I am a consumer rights attorney," I just complained loud and long and now my furniture, ALL of it, modifications and all will be ready for delivery in a few days. Nice, but I really did not need all the drama and it could have been avoided had they been more upfront about how they handle deliveries. By the way, just for the record, I thought my sales person was very helpful when it came to making a selection and answering my questions about the furniture. Had he not been, Id have bought elsewhere. Also, the shop is HUGE, you should see this place and they are adding on to it! So much to see, so much to choose from!

It is readily apparent the sales staff work on commission. We were immediately saddled with an associate who proved to be incompetent and obnoxious. In hindsight, we should have approached a manager and asked to be connected with a different sales associate. That would have been very difficult to do discretely, as the salesperson practically stalked us throughout the store. My biggest concern was that the associate had no idea what was on the floor. He kept telling me the items I wanted were not available and then I would wander around and eventually find exactly what I had asked for. I hate the notion of being "owned" by a sales associate. Even when we asked to be left alone to browse, we were kept in sight. If we spoke with any other sales associate, that associate immediately was paged and apparently told we were already taken. This happened at least three times, once after I simply asked to be directed to the bathroom. It was completely obnoxious. This salesperson relentlessly tried to define our criteria, not so that he could make suggestions but so that he could try to manipulate us into purchasing items. He would point insistently to an item, saying "See? Here it is. You said you wanted XX size and XX color and I found it for you..." As if I am somehow beholden to him because of the undue effort he expended showing me a piece of furniture. Obnoxious sales associate aside, there is a lot of furniture to look at. Most of the furniture is traditional in style - its difficult to come across pieces that could even be considered transitional in style, much less contemporary. Nearly anything that is on the floor is readily available for delivery, so if your tastes match up with their showroom, you can potentially get furniture pretty quickly. If you have time, plenty of things are available on a custom basis too. I cannot imagine making the trip there again any time soon. In fact, Im browsing online for a loveseat now, because I cant stand the thought of facing another sales associate.

Oh Boy what a waste of time! I needed new sofas, Dining set, Beds and mattress for the new house I’m building so I decided to give Wayside a try because I heard they have good selection of furniture. I drove 1 ½ hour to get there and spent almost 45 mins to find a decent looking leather sectional (All of their fabric sofas are outdated and sad looking even my grandma won’t like). When I asked the sale person that I’m interested in buying this sectional and would like to get it delivered after 4 weeks because my house is under construction He said he can’t sell it to me “it has to be delivered in 2 weeks because it’s a floor sample” and they don’t have space to keep it in showroom or in ware house for additional two weeks, and can’t order a new one either. So frustrating and disappointing. One thing is clear they really don’t care about their customers, I don’t know if it’s because they met their sale goals for this month or simply because of bad management. Wayside needs to update their furniture selection and fix their attitude towards customers if they want to see customers walk through their door in near future. If you are looking for a little modern furniture or better customer service then this place is not for you. I hope somebody from higher management see this and take action. 01/06/16 Update: Talked with John after he responded to my Google review, No Resolution. I think they reply to every Google review to show others that they care and will solve the complaint but in reality it’s the opposite (At least that’s how I felt). I ordered the same furniture from Basista furniture store instead, paid less money plus free shipping and guess what! …….. Way BETTER customer service too.

My wife and I came into the store a few weeks back and had a very bizarre experience. My salesman was wonderful and I found exactly what I needed but when we came to the desk to pay for our order the older woman took a very long time to process our order. My wife had already filled out the paper work to apply for the financing offer. The woman took our money down first and proceeded to input our paperwork. In this time the woman beside her had taken at least four customers. This slow process is not my main concern however because I appreciate that it is a lot of paperwork. My main concern was what happened once my wifes credit was declined. I have no idea why her credit was not good enough and wanted an explanation, the woman was unable to provide me with one which was fine but I then spoke to the office manager for some clarification. She came out to speak to us and I cant even be sure what was said exactly simply because I was too distracted by the awful smell that she was emitting. For lack of a better word, this woman STUNK. I hate to be so hurtful but it was something that could not be ignored and frankly my wife and I left just to get away from it. I do not condemn Wayside for their service or even their furniture, we had a lovely experience until we went to pay for it. Something needs to be said to these two women. The woman who took our money took our credit card payment before she told us our financing credit was no good which she then had to refund back making us wait EVEN LONGER and then I cant believe someone with a "management" title would have such poor hygiene. I will not return to the store until these issues have been addressed because I would hate to have another experience like this in the future.
