If ignorance with an attitude were a building material, than in my opinion, Matthews Building Supply would be the best stocked supplier in the area. I am a licensed general contractor that used them on several occasions over the years. The last time I tried to use them, I was told they were really backed-up and would take about 4 weeks to do a take-off from our building plans to develop a material list and quote. After a month, I called to follow-up with them and discovered that our salesman never even began the process. I finally got a take-off and quote about a month later (2 months after furnishing the plans). After I reviewed the take-off, parts of it made no sense to me. I called to question the guy that does the take-offs and discovered that they farmed it out to another guy. Even though the guy that normally does the plan take-offs didnt perform the take-off for us, he was very defensive about the fact that I even had the audacity to question them. He acted like he was Gods gift to the building industry. After discovering that the management wanted to support their take-off guys attitude, I decided that I did want want to deal with that drama, so I took my business to another building supplier. As it turned out, their take-off was littered with errors.

Arrived there on Friday afternoon at 3:38pm when they were closing at 4pm. The gentleman who was last one there waiting to lock the front gate coukdbof arid come back on Monday but he went out of his way to help me find the trim piece I needed to repair my front columns. I think it is odd that Nancy Bellanea rates 12 supply companies from Pennsylvania to Texas with the same 3 stars with no comments. While I havent personally shopped at Matthews Building Supply, I have heard many positive comments from people that have.

i was a forklift driver there for 5 years and its a great company to work for and Bo is the best boss I ever work for. and also they have a lot of discontinued material you cant find anywhere else such as the old fashion lapsiding
