Wanting More

Ok. I cant believe what happened today at Carolina Value Village on Central Ave. First of alln I have been going to this store with my mom for sometime now. I was standing outside waiting for my mom to check out. This very nice lady was making a donation to the store, it looked to be dress dummies, anyway she was donating so many of them. Two ladies walked by and one said to the other something about looking for something like that for a long time and kept walking. The nice lady donating called out to them asking if they wanted one. The one said i shouldnt, i think she was worried about what the manager would do because i have seen this lady working in the thrift store before. The lady motioned for her to come and get one anyway so she did. They were walking to put them in their car and the manager came out saying something about she couldnt have it. I thought he was playing, after all this item was still inside the ladies vehicle when she offered it to her. So she put it in her car.me being the curiouse person that I am went back to the store later that night and i asked did they let her keep it? I couldnt believe that the manager made her give it back to the store after the person donating it gave it to her. They claim it belonged to the store but how could that be when it was still in the ladies car and she took it out to give to this person? Does that mean if i am donating and a box was put in my car by misstake its no longer mine, it belongs to the store?? Its really sad that this manager was so tight he couldnt allow his employee this one VERY small item. It was not his or the stores to give or to take away. Is Carolina Value Village that hard up? Makes you wonder.

I started going to this thrift store a month ago and I love it there. I can only go after 5pm(after work) but the staff there are the coolest down to earth people I have met. They make you feel more like someone they know not just a customer.The prices are odd at times but it is a business. If you buy anything electrical you will need to use yr common sense and plug it up while there to see if it works.The only thing i can say that i dont like is how the community treats the store, those girls are always moving as fast as they can to keep things together. Anyway, I love the place and the staff that I have met, they always make me smile and sometimes even laugh.....lol

I would love to give this store a 5 star review. But some things have came to my attention. Me and my family had an unpleasant experience. We came on a day where everything was 50% off. It was really busy, and there was kids and other families in the store. Upon shopping I witnessed a manager cursing out loud in front of little children, the manager was a light skin guy. He was being flat out disrespectful to everyone. I am shocked that value village would put a person with a foul mouth in a management position. Something should be done about his attitude. What manager in theyre right mind curses in front of entire store that is geared toward a family client base.

was told I couldnt buy a pair of shoes that I needed for work because they werent priced. Then I was told they opened at 7am and I could pick them up the next day. They said they would not hold them for me I showed up at 7 and they didnt open the doors until 7:30. I walked in and my shoes were nowhere to be found in the shoe section. as I left the store I found them in a trashcan by the door and was told I couldnt take em cuz they were merchandise and could not buy them cuz they were still not priced, even though I was told they would be. do not go here. the one on Independence and the one on South Blvd are great but this one should be put out of business.

I always find something whether it be electronic or jeans that are petite. The staff is always friendly and if there isnt a price on something the manager will be reasonable. I got a cove chair, very comfortable for $5.57. The style yes was outdated but my husband and I bought a snug chair cover and we get many compliments.

Ive only been to Value Village one time and this particular location was okay. Its your typical thrift store and I did end up purchasing a nightstand from this location. What I didnt like was that all of the lamp bases were missing the arch piece needed to hang the lampshade on. I would shop there again.

Ive bought like 10 pair of jeans here in 1 month.. (levi, american eagle, gap, banana republic and david bitton)..great selection but u have to go every 4 days to find good stuff..only problem is no dressing room.ehhh..that kinda sucks, its always crowded but the lines move fast...

This store is the best, the items that are available are great. But best of all the prices are reasonable and super good if your watch for the marked off (color coded) items. They also have a 1/2 off sale [last Wednesday of the month] when you can really get some super great buys.

I probably have an addiction to trying to find random treasures here and at all shops like this... I go a few times a week... but they lack a changing room and as a women, its hard to judge clothing with out trying it on.

There is always something interesting to find at Value Village Thrift Store. If you are looking for gently used household items or hand-me-downs then I recommend that you come shop at the Value Village Thrift Store.

I have clothes that I bought from here that I like more than things I bought brand new retail. Its like an adventure. You never know what youre going to find in here! And a great place to get work clothes.
