If you hand me six toasty donuts covered in delicious toppings in a decorative box after Ive been fasting for a 12 hour period and my whole body is shaking with hunger, Im going to instantly fall in love with you. So, now Amber and I are in love, but she doesnt know it. She smiled - which she is partly paid to do - and gave me two vanilla-Oreo donuts, two cinnamon/sugar donuts with a caramel drizzle, a chocolate rainbow sprinkle donut, and a plain glazed. The box was warm in my hands and smelled amazing. I collected a few napkins and headed home. After the 20 minute drive they were still warm. Duck donuts are amazing! Theres this little pop when you bite into them. It comes from a warm, puffy center and a well-fried surface. I was so hungry I almost cried. As I worked my way through two of them, my love for Amber began to fade and I realized it was actually donut love. Ill be returning whenever Im in the area for breakfast. The staff are friendly and quick and the food is incredible with a small price tag. I think they even beat Krispy Kreme prices, but dont quote me on that. And dont compare the two either. They have two totally different donut offerings, and both can hold a place in my heart.

Delicious, "self designed" donuts. This is a fantastic idea. You go in, they have a list of the icings, toppings, and drizzles you can top your donuts with. You can pick one of each per donut. Dont be afraid to mix and match. One of my favorites is the Lemon Cooler, powdered sugar with a lemon drizzle. These donuts are the best Ive ever had. You create your own donuts, every donut in your box and be a different donut if you want, go crazy. The space is a little small, not like they can help it though, they are in a shopping center, not like they can expand. Depending on what time you go, they can be busy. Be patient, remember, they are creating each donut to order, unlike Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts, they arent premade. When I went, there was no line. The woman taking my order was extremely patient as I figured out what combinations I wanted. There are so many options, all of them delicious. She even suggested a few, which was very helpful. I watched as they crafted each donut and placed them in the box. I left with a smile on my face. If you want to try something other than your typical Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts, give this place a try!

Duck Donuts is a really cute shop with some seriously delicious donuts! The shop is bright but lots of wood and cooler shades to give it a comfy feel. The theme is, of course, ducks! There are displays of the mascot duck products like mugs, travel cups, shirts, hoodies etc, and containers full of assorted rubber ducks to purchase. This place is kind of like a "Subway" of donut shops; you pick the glaze and toppings and they fry up the donuts and prepare them right in front of you! There are lots of flavors and toppings to choose from, plus they have house "specialties", combos already designed for maximum deliciousness. Our family loves the Strawberry with banana, and the Maple glaze with fresh crumbled bacon. The kids like picking out their own donut to be made, and I like being able to see that fresh ingredients are used and the area is very clean. Price wise, a dozen donuts runs just under 13 bucks, so, a little higher than Krispy Kreme or Dunkin, but worth every bite.

Lets talk about that customer lets talk about that customer service!!! I went into Ducks today to get some Donuts two dozen to be exact. They were more than helpful when it came to deciding what was a great donut to try. They didnt look at me like I was stupid for not knowing exactly what I wanted. They help me choose the donuts that they like I also didnt get enough Donuts on my list so she made sure that I had the right amount. With two large boxes in my hand open in the door became a challenge one of the people that work there came right over open the door for me and offered to help me to my car and to get in. These Donuts Were Made hot and fresh right in front of me. When my order was complete they showed it to me and asked if everything looked okay. Ending with a smile a thank you and welcome in me back next time. Put all of their donut shops to shame if you ask me. But you should give it a try if you never have and see for yourself!!!

I tend to like cake-type donuts because they go well with coffee, and these are always fresh and hot. Thats all they serve, donut-wise: cake donuts, but there are a wide variety of toppings you can customize with. Choices include icings such as chocolate, peanut butter, lemon, and maple. Also cinnamon sugar, glaze, bacon, chopped peanuts, Oreos, coconut and sprinkles. There are are new "drizzles", too. You can mix and match all of these! If you want to go all-out, try the warm donut sundae! I cant give 5 stars to the Cary location, because the majority of the times Ive been there, something is missing from the self-serve coffee area. First it was sugar, the next time was any type of creamer (they usually have pitchers of skim and half & half), last time the decaf coffee was out and there was none already brewing. Still, these donuts may have taken over first place in my heart. Not that Id ever turn down a KK donut!!

Cleanliness - 4/5 The restroom was dangerously close to being out of soap. As a byproduct of sprinkles, drizzles and toppings - there were crumbs all over the floor and tables. Price - 4/5 You could argue that the donuts are somewhat worth the price as they teeter-totter on that edge of being too expensive. But truth is Id rather pay more for a quality donut than some disgusting frozen doughball, pulled from the trash at your local Dunkin Donuts. Service - 4/5 First timers here will need a moment to gather all of the many options and donut flavor combinations you can make. Staff are cheery and helpful. The Maple Bacon donut is odd...but okay. Quality - 4/5 Its nice to stop in for quick a donut and a coffee before work. However that one donut and coffee will run you close to 6 dollars. Theres only one way to figure out if that price is justified for yourself. STOP BY AND GRAB A DONUT! YAY!

These are high-end donuts and you do pay a premium for them. But if you take a few minutes to think through how to order them you can get some amazing flavor combinations. My family is particularly fond of the peanut butter icing with chocolate drizzle. This is a great place to bring little kids. Young and old alike enjoy watching the donuts go through the frying machine. Its also fun to watch them ice the donuts. Of course the milk and coffee are a bit overpriced, but its worth it for a morning out with the kids. Dads - take your little ones here and let mom sleep in. Then bring her some donuts in bed!

Only gave 2 stars because the donuts were good; however, when my boyfriend and I were ordering and contemplating whether to get a half dozen or just a couple individual donuts, once I caved to my boyfriends half dozen request, the young blonde cashier looked down at my stomach and STARED for a few moments before looking me back up. Note that I am not pregnant and did not have anything on my shirt, so there was no reason for this at all other than to suggest something about the order and my weight. This is the only experience like this I have ever had in my life, and it was incredibly, incredibly rude.
