. She and I exchanged words, finally I got the point that they felt that I "should not have left my children unattended for any reason". I explained to them that if that couldnt understand and not be rude to me that I would not shop at their store any longer. Finally as I cried, the Asian Manger man said "I dont want you to shop here anymore, and want you to leave right now". I asked him "why he was being rude." He said "that she wasnt being rude but informing him that 2 kids were left "alone" in the bathroom stall." I again explained to him why they were left alone and it wasnt like I just left them so I could go shop, I left them because one had poopie diaherra all down his legs and only had a shirt on because he had ruined his pants and underwear and he wanted his brother to stay with him while I had to go get some clothes." The manager then said..."you should be glad I didnt call child services on you for leaving your children unattended." I started crying and told them I wanted my money back for what I purchased today and that I WOULD NEVER shop there again." He told the other guy to "take care of her and get her out of my store." I told the manager to call social services; I would gladly explain to them what happened as well as show them the clothes I had to throw away. NO manager has the right to talk to a customer that way. Customers are ALWAYS right, even if and when they are wrong. When one can see that a mother, alone in a store had to make a HARD decision to trust, pray, and leave her two young children in a LOCKED bathroom stall to save the 5 year old an embarrassing moment. One manager should not make it worse by accusing the mom of "leaving" a child unattended as if she was out just shopping and having a good time. I know that anything could have happened, but I also know that I had to do what I HAD to do. Would it have been better to ask a "stranger" to watch my kids as I went and got some clothes, or should I have just took my little boy in his t-shirt and penis out and get him clothes? It doesnt matter if you agree with my decision, but NO manager has the right to talk to a customer that way.

just one star cause there no option to put zero... definitive UNIQUE got the award to the worse thrift store in long island.. price are so high for used items, is much cheap go to places on the mall... i not recommend this store ... no even when they have 50% off price getting more high so u really dont save any...... solamente una estrella pues no esta la opcion de ponerle cero, definitivamente unique se gano el premio de la peor tienda de segunda en long island.. precios estan muy altos por articulos , es mas barato ir al mall.. no recomiendo esta tienda, ni si quiera cuando tienen 50% de descuento porque ponen los precios mas altos , al final no ahorras nada...

Unique used to be a great store. However, the prices now are ridiculous. I am a thrift shopper countrywide and also purchase upscale items directly from the makers. I believe the individuals who are pricing items at Unique are either lazy or not suited to the position. Example: An obviously FAKE Louis Vuitton bag was absurdly priced at $85! The bags stitches were really awful and the zipper was plastic not metal! I spoke with the pricing employee and told her that the internet provided much information on how to spot a fake LV! She was pleasant but didnt appear to be going to the internet to do any research in the future. In many instances, items were priced at almost the same price as could be bought brand new!!! As a charitable organization, it is unacceptable that theyd price their items as high as they do…people who go to thrift shops are there to save money. If the item can be bought brand new at the stores for a few dollars more, why should they buy it at Unique? On the positive side, every now and then, you may find something worth the price; like, a good coat or shoes or vintage something. In summary, I continue to go to Unique just to find that UNUSUAL piece. Hope this review helps a shopper in knowing that to expect when going to UNIQUE.

Great place for someone like me who can not stop shopping... lol. I was able to get 4 items of clothing for only $15! Usually I would spend $15 or more on just one item at the mall. I got a Victorias Secret Sweatshirt for only $4 which sell at Victorias secret for over $50! Only disappointment was with the shoes... not much of a selection and what they do have is very worn. They also have special deals on certain days... like on Mondays they give you 25% off your purchase. I browsed around a bit and they seemed to have great deals on almost everything! Only thing I would say was a bit pricey was the Purses and the "Designer" stuff they carry. They were selling a real coach bag for $50 (which is a good deal) but next to it was a FAKE Channel Bag for the same price... so its always good to be careful of knock offs. Besides for those few cons i would highly recommend this thrift store.

I am a bargain hunter and a collector. I have gotten many nice things at Unique, but shopper beware! Some used and new items are priced higher than what you can get them brand new at another non-thrift store. Know your prices before you go.You need to be careful..some items are broken (mostly by the workers in receiving), especially in the Westbury store. The Levittown store has less broken items, but their prices are higher. I visit the stores at least once per week and only on their bargain days (Monday is 25% off and Thursdays is 25% off if you have their VIP card-which cost you nothing to have.). Some times I come home with a lot and sometimes a little. - Lynn, the "Dog Lady."

Not surprised that everyone is mentioning the high prices because thats the case.. sometimes you get lucky and you find a good deal but thats only because they dont know what theyre looking for. Everything is checked on eBay and on the computer before they put it out on the floor. Nothing is sold if its not price tag and they wont go back and try something for you right at that moment if you decide to buy something that doesnt have a price tag on it. Theyre really not that friendly and the children run crazy in the store throwing toys all over the floor a hazard and walking.

They have a real bad habit of taking electronics that they should not be taking. Since the summer of 2014, Ive called Altice / Optimums Corporate Security department twice. The thrift store was selling equipment that clearly had "Property of Optimum" labels on their undersides. In 2014, I called Optimum because they had whole stacks of the Jerrold Instrument boxes that were property of Cablevision. In the first week of June, 2017 I called Optimum because they had several of the new Arris cable modems that should have been returned to the customer service center in Bethpage.
