I got my inspection done in May. The evening before I brought my vehicle in, I called Mavis Discount Tire in Smithtown to tell them that both my brake lights were out, so I needed that to be checked out as well. The next morning when I brought my vehicle in for its inspection, I told the assistant manager, again, that my brake lights were out and needed to be replaced. HOURS later when I finally got to pick up my vehicle, my brake lights were not fixed and had to tell the manager for the third time about my situation. Two months later, in July, as I was driving, my brake light went off. I proceeded to bring it to the Mavis Discount Tire in Islandia to be checked out. They informed me that my front brakes were shot and my front tires were so bald that they should have been impassable by the New York State inspection. The Mavis Discount Tire in Smithtown, however, neglected to tell me any of this and passed my vehicle anyway. Im just glad I caught the problem in time before I went through my windshield from my brakes failing. Mavis Discount Tire did NOT take care of me nor cares about my personal safety.

Tried this place after another service center in town recently changed brands and the folks who had been there for a long time were no longer there. The staff was great, treated me and my car well. It was just an inspection, but it was a good first experience. I will be back. Update on September 15, 2016. Just brought our other vehicle in, again treated very well by this location. Will continue to use them. Very happy customer

Fred is lazy and a scammer, he tried to cheat me out of the TPMS packs I paid for. When he then undid tires to put in he refused to rebalance and wouldnt give me the chrome caps. I called corporate and went 1/2 mile to 393 middle country rd and they made things right. 2nd time problem. A year earlier 3 times realigned and still steering wheel crooked on other car after a set of 4 tires. Stay clear of this shop

The team at Mavis fixed my tire (removed screw embedded in tire and plugged hole) at 2 minutes to closing and didnt charge me for the service. It was a good experience and I will consider other services from them.
