I have to tell you that this is my Faviorite Gun Store on Long Island. Most Gun Stores you go to due to the Heavy traffic of customers are very rude and dont take the time to give you the attention you really are looking for when going to buy a gun. I purchased a Mossberg 464 ZMB Series Lever Action .30/.30 Rifle from LI Outdoorsman and I dont regret it for a second. The only time I have ever felt that same customer service at a gun or hunting store was cabelas. I can also say that any time I have enquired about a gun from this store the price they quote me is Always under the MSRP price of the Guns Manufacturer. Even during the recent rush to buy anything that holds bullets due to the recent legislation, there customer service is still amazing. I never feel rushed and they answer all my questions. They will for sure be my first choice of Gun Stores. If I had to rank my top 3 Gun Stores in long island First Place- 1st-LI Outdoorsman, Rockville Center,NY..Second Place-2nd- American Outdoorsman, Farmingdale,NY... Third Place-3rd-The Camp-Site Sport Shop, Huntington,NY...I Would Never and I repeat Never buy anything from South Shore Outdoorsman. There absolutely have the rudest employees of any store period I have ever walked into. You have to Respect my Money if you want it bottom line. Buy your Next Gun from LI Outdoorsman you wont regret it. D. Jones

I went in to buy my 1st firearm, as a brandnew shooter. the gun they recommended was a used shotgun with a pistol grip(as my 1st gun? O_o). I put down money on the weapon not knowing any better, went home, and didresearch to find out as a new shooter, the pistol grip shotgun is the last gun to start shooting with. I feel they wanted to just sell the used weapon instead of giving me realistic information(strike1). I went back there and asked for a shotgun pad, after I brought a Mossberg590a1,and asked for a shotgun pad for recoil. They gave me a rifle pad instead,and didnt even tell me. I got out the store and down to the range and found out it wasnt a shotgun pad, called back, and they said it was the same thing(lying basically)(STRIKE2). I brought my brother in law down to pick out a gun for his girl, and he asked for an AK. They told him IT IS ILLEGAL FOR PEOPLE TO SELL OR PURCHASE AK-47! O_o SERIOUSLY?(STRIKE3). We went to Southshore and they had 4 AK-47s for sale and they said people tell you anything to get your money. Strike4 was my bro in law brought a gun from them for $1500 that South shoe had for $900. Overcharging, bad info, and "tell u anything for a sale" mentality rubs me the wrong way. At least they didnt rob me when I brought my Mossberg 590a1(THANK GOD!).#its my closest gunstore, but I save money burning gas going to southshore and the othergunshops in Nassau. Advice:they will rob you without a mask and gun(even cops/military)...

Before going in to the store, I read the Google Place reviews. The reviews seemed fairly negative but, the shop was the only one I could find that had exactly what I wanted, in stock. So, I decided that I would just suck it up and go in. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. I went in at 8am, just as they opened. I had called ahead about the item I wanted to make sure it was in stock. They had set it aside for me and it was waiting for me when I came in. They put it in my hands right away and were available to answer any and all of my numerous questions. Everyone behind the counter was friendly, not pushy in any way and very attentive. The price for the product was right on par for where it should have been (Not overpriced like many of the other reviewers state). The store had a decent inventory on display. They had the item I wanted for the price I wanted and had friendly service. What else could I ask for? Some of the accessories for the item I wanted were priced a tad on the high side but, thats why you need to be an informed consumer. I did my research, found what I wanted and paid a fair price for it. Overall my experience was very good. Perhaps other people came in later in the day when the shop was busier. I would definitely shop there again.

Great family owned shop with a knowledgeable and friendly staff. My focus was usually on the fishing side, but once I wanted to get into target shooting, I spoke with them and asked a lot of questions. They helped me through the process without making me feel like I was wasting their time, which I really appreciated. Im already shopping for my second pistol. Conveniently enough, they started offering a Beginners Pistol Class which I signed right up for. Rob, an NRA Certified Instructor who also does gunsmithing at the store, taught the class and answered tons of questions. The class group was small and ranged from people with no real knowledge on gun basics to someone like me who did tons of research and knew my gun inside out before purchasing it. Every one of us left that class learning many new things. Even though I researched and knew a lot of the principles taught, I think it helped me get even more from the class. Rob was even able to identify and help me correct several mechanical issues with my stance and such which is making me shoot better. I highly recommend visiting the shop, looking around and getting to know the staff. And if youre a new gun owner, I definitely suggest taking the class; you wont regret it.

This place is run by CROOKS! I had ordered an AK-74 which was not NY state legal, they had looked at the same website I ordered it from and told me it was fine. Once it arrived the owners told me that it was illegal and continued to charge me not one, but TWO transfer fees. I had it sent back to the seller and had him send the required magazines along with it. It comes back with the 10 round mags, they still tell me its illegal due to having assault rifle features. They DID NOT tell me this the first time after looking over the gun, all in all I was charged $200 dollars for a gun I was never allowed to have and they never informed me of this even though they clearly had it in possession and knew about this. Do not buy from this greedy gun store, the owner has a nasty attitude and they are not helpful at all. All they care about is your money, not customer service.
