I am very disappointed with my purchase. I ordered the arrangement for pickup as a gift for my son for Fathers Day. The online ordering system was easy and quick and I was very happy to see that the Sewell location was open on Fathers Day. I found an online coupon code for $10.00 off my order. I ordered a large Watermelon Kiwi Summer Daisy, and since I had the coupon for $10.00, I opted to add Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, Apples & Bananas 6 Box for $10.00. I ordered the gift for a 10:00 pickup on Sunday. At 9:45 Sunday morning, I received a phone call from Edible Arrangements to inform me that they were much busier than they anticipated and asked if I could pickup later. I asked how much later and the woman said 11:00/11:30. The fruit arrangement was to be the centerpiece of our brunch before I left for work on Fathers Day. Since the gift now couldnt be picked up until 11:30, brunch was not possible. I left for work and my daughter-in-law did the pickup for me. My daughter-in-law arrived at 11:35 and was pleasantly greeted by a gentleman behind the counter who said the order would be out shortly. Fifteen minutes later, the arrangement was brought out. The employee explained that the chocolate dipped fruit were all in individual boxes vs. the standard box because they ran out of the normal boxes. My daughter-in-law received no apology for the initial delay in pickup. The initial delay in pickup resulted in the first half of my day being completely rearranged. To me, this is unacceptable on a holiday. You didnt realize the day before that you were going to be that busy? Next, my daughter-in-law arrived home with the fruit and called me. She informed me that the $55.00 (original price before the coupon) arrangement seemed extremely small for the price and that we received 6 chocolate dipped strawberries, not the strawberries, bananas, apples that I ordered. If this arrangement was a large, I hate to think of what the small was! My daughter-in-law called the shop to question the size and strawberries. She was informed the size was, in fact, a large and they must have made a mistake with the strawberries. The gentleman was, again, polite and advised her that she could return the strawberries for the correct items. She told him she had already had enough hassle and didnt wish to deal with the issues any longer. When my family ate the fruit, everyone was extremely displeased. First, I dont even think there were 35 pieces of fruit in this arrangement. Next, the fruit was not flavorful. The grapes and kiwi were very mushy, as were the watermelon balls. Other than the large core of the pineapple flowers, there was very minimal "flower petals" of pineapple. They did have a nice taste; however, there wasnt much of the edible pineapple on the few flowers as the bulk of the flower was the inedible core. The cantaloupe didnt look fresh and was also unpleasant in flavor. The strawberries in the arrangement were all sour. The only reason the chocolate covered strawberries had a little more flavor was due to the chocolate coating. My total order was close to $59.00. For that kind of price and small size of the arrangement, I would expect only the best quality fruit. I definitely didnt receive that. I could have purchased better quality fruit at a grocery store. I very much appreciate the creativity needed to put these baskets together and the fact that there is a cost associated with the creativity, but with the exception of the pineapple, you were dealing with cantaloupe wedges, grapes, watermelon balls and whole strawberries...not too much to be creative with. This is not the first poor quality arrangement that I have received from Edible Arrangements (as a company). My daughter-in-law received 2 others in the past 5 years as gifts and they were not good quality fruit either. We will no longer order anything from Edible Arrangements. I know that others are very pleased but my family has had too many bad experiences.
