I purchase quite a bit of yarn for knitting these days and am amazed that Michaels yarn prices are far more expensive (even with their coupons) than Walmart, a few doors away. Yes, Walmart carries the exact same brands and most colors of yarn as Michaels sells. One particular brand of yarn with a 40% off coupon at Michaels costs approximately $5; the identical skein costs less than $3 at Walmart. Further, the coupons that Michaels issues are irritating. A coupon good for 50% off, for example, may only be valid from 4 PM to 9 PM. And their policy of one coupon per customer per day is ridiculous...this results in my purchasing one item only at Michaels that I cannot find at Walmart, and then I head directly to Walmart for the rest of my purchases; it does not encourage me to visit the store daily to use one coupon when 3 doors down I can buy it cheaper. Michaels coupon policy makes it counterproductive to even bother with them. Lower your prices or lose me and other educated consumers as customers.

I cane in to get a large panting I had purchased some years ago framed. I was a bit surprised at the cost of framing as this was my first time every getting something professionally framed. After some research I came to find Michaels had competitive pricing so I decided to go ahead with the framing. The framer worked with me for some time to pick out the right frame at the right price and in the end did a fantastic job.

Eh. Sometimes you get an itch to wrap a clay pot with raffia? Others you crave plastic flowers on your door. Cheap, plastic, crud from China sold at ridiculous low prices. Serves its purpose, no complaints. Excuse me while I finish this friendship bracelet.

Cashier was super friendly. My boyfriends sister and I shared a few laughs with him. The other people working were super helpful too as it wasnt my normal michaels & had to ask where a few things were.
