Just got back from the Edison Pathmark and was compelled to write this review. I was there around 10PM I had a decent experience the first time around with the self serve check out. However, I forgot to pick up milk and made my way back in. In my haste, I accidentally ran into an unmanned check out counter- innocent mistake! The response I got from one of the employees was of scoff. Honestly, I was distracted by a last minute tea purchase, I have to admit you folks have some nicely priced items. Anyhow, it wouldnt have happened if the cashiers hadnt been floating around socializing at checkout stand 11. When I made my way to cashier 11 I couldnt help seeing/overhearing her throw her head back laughing loudly and snickering to her male coworker at the customer service stand saying, "No, that is straight up RETARDED.. HAW HAW HAW HAW!! Now THAT is making me giggle" To describe this employee, she had a very short haircut, graying hair with white hair, glasses (?)- white woman with medium build close to or near 48/50 years of age. She was not at all trying to contain any of her glee at my misstep. I felt that this blatant display of customer humiliation was unnecessary and obviously INCREDIBLY RUDE. I distractedly stepped into the wrong check out stand for a second, big hoot. I know its the night shift but come on. Seriously? Store Manager Jeff Baricko, I hope you have the opportunity to read this review. If this behavior continues unchecked, the next time I decide I need groceries Ill stick to the self check out, BETTER YET.. Ill take my business and the business of my friends and associates ELSEWHERE. Somewhere where there exists some standard of customer appreciation and integrity of staff. Note: The cashier at the self check out stand, an easy going, humorous lady with long reddish hair was incredibly nice.

We have shopped there a few times since its opening. On weekends, their fresh veggies are ok, but not as fresh as other Chinese supermarkets produce and with limited selections. Last Monday, we went there in the morning and found that there were only a few packets of green veggies available and they looked stale. Reluctantly, we bought a packet of gailan shoots and a packet of you cai shoots. When we opened these packets after we got home, we found that the leaves of these veggies were yellowed and withered. They obviously cut off the old stalks of these vegetables and sold them as shoots! Apart from these fake shoots, though, their fresh meats and fish are good and the counter staff are courteous and friendly. They do have a great variety of dry goods with emphasis on Taiwan products. Their bakery items are fresh and reasonably priced too. We havent tried their cooked items yet. The place is clean and their washrooms are worth a mention. Hope they will improve on their produce and fruits sections, and we will really be happy customers.

My family and I were all very excited and couldnt wait for their opening just like many of you. 99 ranch was supposed to sell many Taiwanese products, and we were expecting the food court area to be filled with various Taiwanese street food and specialty. Extremely disappointed and surprisingly! its just like another version of Chinese grocery. Nothing better, food court, selling congee and Chinese buffet?!?!?! I could have just gone to the other Chinese grocery on route 1, which was about 5 minuets away. Price was not competitive either! H-mart sells milk for $4.50 or so, 99 Ranch sells milk the same brand for $7.99, thats absorbed. Maybe, other things here and there are cheaper. But, overall, I will be going my to my favorite H-Mart for my weekly grocery run.

Have been waiting for this 99 ranch market to open for a year. I have to say Im a bit underwhelmed. It is well organized. Smaller than H MART. About the same size as Kam Man not too far away. Limited selections, especially organic products. The food court (which includes a coco bubble tea joint) is a nice touch. Overall its not much of an upgrade from the numerous Chinese supermarkets in the area. they will have a hard time competing with either Kam Man (which is cheaper) and H Mart (larger selection) on the higher end. Ranch 99 will need to decide whether they want to be high end and focus on specialty items/food court like Mitsuwa or go dirt cheap if they want to be competitive.

When we were at the checkout, we had to bag our own items. The people who were supposed to be doing so just stood at the end of the register area talking in another language. They watched I saw them. There had to be about 8 girls with the uniforms on just watching us talking to each other standing up. They couldve been on break but there were so many of the just crowding the end area. I just called the number on here and it says out of service. :/ Ive never had this type of quality with a market like this.

Inwas so excited to finally see another chinese supermarket... the staff was very helpful to find items... everything was freshnand clean wirh the aquarium for the live crabs and lobster and fish. They help clean the fish and fry it as part of the free service and steam the crab and lobsters... i feel that their prices are cheaper then h mart. There is also a hot area with dim sum and roast duck and chicken and pig. There is many selections of fresh and frozen... and its what im used to in california also.

99 Ranch had overall good selections including pastries on the side of the store, and the prices were reasonable - EXCEPT the package of CRAB LEGS we purchased last weekend (Sun 7.2.17) were very old/smelly when we opened to prepare at home. It was most disappointing and frustrating as we were looking forward to having some. Thus it was a waste of over $12 - we had to literally trash the crab legs. Please beware when buying!!

Love it! Finally we have Ranch 99 in East Coast! Clean place and friendly staff. The person at the checkout helped us to earn the coupon($1 per $10 purchase). Nice price, for example, the dumplings are $2 cheaper than other Chinese supermarket. I like H-Mart also but I think the food at Ranch 99 is more Chinese. Go to this place almost every weekend since it opened. Cannot wait to see the other new Ranch 99 store in Jersey City!

Its a well stock all around east and west supermarket. Meat, vegetables, seafood, dry grocery, frozen foods, soda, small electronic appliances. Theres a small food court where one can enjoy the hot dishes bought from hot deli, bakery and beverage stands in the food court. Hot deli and bakery are self served.

Probably one of the cleanest Asian Grocery Ive ever seen, first impression. This is my first visit here and this was just recently opened. Food court value-wise is outstanding. Wish Asian Food Markets and Good Fortune Supermarket could keep up with the cleanliness of this one. H-Mart now has a competitor...

Not a very welcoming store, particularly after 9 PM. The main doors were blocked and employees did not pay too much attention if there were shopping carts or hand baskets available. Has an adequate selection of goods, yet the general sloppiness of the late evening staff makes you want to get out--fast.

It is a colossal scale compare to other Chinese supermarket. It is not smaller than Hmart. Clean (no smell), competitive prices (5 to 15 percent cheaper mostly), polite & bilingual staffers and extensive selection of merchandises. The food Court has a great selection of cooked foods.
