Fantastic place to buy you gifts, tee shirts, flags, souvenirs, whirlygigs and much much more. There are food shops throughout and the streets surrounding it are closed to traffic; people are always milling up and down the middle of the street. Its reminiscent of an enormous block party. Enjoy, and have patience, especially during tourist season. There is metered parking available in parking lots surrounding the 8 or 10, square block, perimeter. *Tip: find a metered parking lot, let your family out, and wait by the curb. A spot has always cleared for me within 10 minutes or less. Its better than driving in circles or on crowded streets.

Cape May’s “boardwalk” is more of a concrete promenade without shops. Washington Street Mall is where all of the shops you’d expect to be there went instead. You can find the typical touristy shirt shops and some cafes and ice cream. There are also a few more unique shops like a Scandinavian gift shop. The outdoor setting is quite nice in warm weather. Nice for a short stroll in what feels most like the downtown of Cape May.

This years annual Sidewalk Sale was stale and lacking in quality but not the hallmark high prices Cape May and the Washington Street Mall is known. However, most merchants were friendly and the crowds were vibrant. The WSM is great for finding unique items and good quality merchandise. Locals shop here too since we know we will find that special item that makes the trip worth while.

Tourist central in Cape May. Youll find all the trinket shops and t shirt places you want here. Ice cream shops and fast food places offering burgers and sandwiches are the bulk, but there are a few sit down dining spots too. The gazebo hosts live bands just a block over. Its ok to walk without worrying about cars but youll want to spend most of your time elsewhere in town.

You need a rubber ducky? This is the place to go...they have big ones, small ones and in between! They have cowboy ducks, pirate ducks, bride and groom ducks! They have great lotions and soaps and a beautiful line of vintage looking jewelry. They will also make a fragrance just for YOU! BATH TIME is a must to visit when in Cape May.

Outdoor Mall. Amazing variety of shops. We went to a tiny bakery and it also sold homemade fresh pasta! Good sized restaraunts and a small ($$$) internet coffee shop. Clothing, to books cooking store to toy store. Vintage and avant garde. Its is all there. Walk hs fountains and little garden area with loads of places to sit!

You must pay a visit to this pedestrian mall if youre visiting Cape May, as its the heart of the towns walking and shopping district. The mall contains a wide variety of shops, from cheesy t-shirt stores to pubs, souvenirs, candy, art, and pricey jewelers. It all adds to the fun, family-friendly atmosphere of Cape May.

Great stretch of space (a few blocks long) in central Cape May to shop and eat. Lots of little stores and restaurants -- and many sidestreets to meander down to see old Victorian homes, inns, and more places to dine. Best bet for parking is usually the municipal lot behind Colliers liquor store.

Lots of little stores in a quaint outdoor mall. Many of the stores are not open in the off-season in Cape May but its definitely a good place to go in the on-season. A few must-visit stores for us are: Swede Things in America, the Fudge Kitchen, the galleries, the Whales Tale, and Love the Cook.

Love this place. We have been coming here for at least 20 years and we love that its atmosphere and ambiance have stayed the same while keeping up with the times. I love all the little stores. Even my teenage sons enjoy coming and going into the toy stores they used to go in as tikes.

Lovely market place to spend your evening. Lot of stores to explore. And most are open till late night (11 pm). Although, everything seemed to be costly, you will find lot of options to buy from clothes to art. And restaurants, from Italian to Asian, and many more options.

Not a dog friendly place, we were ask to leave. We were told they had a dog issue a year ago. How many people issues do you think they had in the last year, but there are still people allowed there. One bad dog owner should not define every dog. Good luck to them.

Very unique place to visit. It has a Victorian feel to it. About 4 blocks of great stores. The only problem is that most of the stores are so tight that trying to maneuver baby carriage inside them is almost impossible. One store would not even allow it to enter.

This is a great mall, always a must to visit when in Cape May. Parking is a pain, just walk there if possible or be ready to park far away. Great variety of shops. There are shops in the alleys and a block towards the beach (backside of Washington Street) also.

VERY tourist. And youre pack in there like sardines. Lots of nice little shops to go with the theme of the area. Parking spaces are very narrow & not free or cheap . And its very crowded! But very clean & picked up. Some cute little shops to spend your money.

Waaaaaaay to crowded and way too many cars for only a handful of spots in the whole area. Where else do you have to pay to park to go to the grocery store - and a crappy grocery store at that. I love Cape May but there needs to be some crowd control measures.

Ate at Delaneys Irish Pub. Service was extremely slow. Food was just ok. I got the Lobster Roll which was under seasoned. My husband got the crab sandwich which was pretty good. Both came with a small bag of chips. We ordered fries and they were very tasty.

Dont be misled by the term "mall"! This is far from a typical mall and has a wide selection of local shops/boutiques with a wide selection of unique items. The "mall" also has a pretty wide selection ice cream, gelato, snacks, and other specialty fudge.

Lovely little shops and a nice open-air feel to this pedestrian-friendly path. Some shore clothing shops, but each had its own niche. Eateries are present but not of great variety. Wonderful to walk around with little ones on cool or overcast days.

The mall has changed and not for the better. Off center fountains and lost all the nice trees. Store have radically changed too. Very expensive and merchandise does not warrant high prices. Miss Clothes Cove the ladies were so helpful.

Its a fun place to enjoy a weekend or an evening with loved ones. There are multiple cute stores around that looks like like little toy house/store though they are Victorian styles. Very nice vibe and jolly people around.
