We absolutely loved Global Foods and would spend at least half a day browsing the aisles and getting the different foods and produce. Our last visit was yesterday, and we were extremely disappointed in the selection in the produce aisle. Some of the produce looked like they had sat around for some time, and the selection wasnt what we had come to expect from Global. While I understand its out of season for some, the produce from warmer climates should have been available. They do have a book where you can look up some of the items, but it didnt include everything, and nobody was around to ask for help. We were looking forward to going there and looking at everything, but this time we spent maybe 30 minutes. When we went to check out, the cashier didnt even greet us or thank us for coming. He seemed tired and bored. I watched him check one person out, and as she was gathering her bags, she forgot to get her receipt. The cashier didnt call out to her... he waved the receipt at the lady, even though her back was turned to him. Well be looking for another international foods store to go to unless Global makes some changes.

THE place to get imported food in St. Louis County. Foods from Asia, Europe, India, and South America can all be purchased here. Whether you want something mundane like laver snacks, or something a bit more rare like shiratake noodles or fresh oyster mushrooms - Global Foods stocks it. Global Foods has a fantastic produce section, and a dizzying variety of of tea, rice, and chocolate for sale. Breads and frozen seafood are also sold here, and the beer/wine/spirits section has the usual staples of foreign fare such Uzo and Yager Meister. This is the among the more economical of places to purchase spices as well. It seems like most days theres a pot of coffee left out for customers if theyd like to have a little bit of joe while they shop. The staff is friendly, and I seldom wait in line for very long when its time to check out. If youre into cooking ethnic food, I highly recommend Global Foods!

My only problem with this store - its too far from my house. I wish it was in my neighborhood, I would be the most loyal customer! They have regular every-day groceries and on top of that the foods that you only know because you lived in other countries or have a lot of international friends. It is a delight to the immigrants, the taste of home, the favorites from your childhood. The quality is good, the variety is phenomenal and the stuff is friendly. Well, there is one other problem - every time I leave waaay too much money there, I just cant stop myself in this gastronomical heaven.

There is nothing that you cannot get at this store (in my experience) if you are looking for ethnic foods of any sort. They have their store well organized and the isles are labeled for Indian Foods, Greek Foods, Polish Foods, Egyptian Foods, Polish Foods, etc....(you get the idea). I went there with specific needs in mind: brown basmati rice, taj mahal loose leaf tea, ginger root, and Indian masala. If you just want to browse and try something new from another region of the globe, this is your go to spot to get it. They even have Jesus fish! Love this place.

A wide variety of foods from all over the world, most with either decent prices or prices that make sense (because the food is imported). It has a great little Christmas section in advance of the holidays where you can find specialty holiday foods from European/Scandinavian countries (mince pies, chocolates, etc.). The sushi-making supplies are also pretty good. Great selection of food from India, whether you are cooking or just want something to reheat.

I love coming here to find my countries food and to try anything new from all the other different ethnic foods. I know theres other places to go. But this one is at a great location for me. Easy to get to. I love how each country is represented down a separate aisle. You can find your country by locating your flag they have placed above it. Its great and people are friendly. Im hoping one day they can be in a bigger building but in the same area!!

Yeah so its that time of the year to have mangos they just started to receive marathon mangos and we got a box of 12 for just under $ 15 dollars. Like how the store is setup and cater to all nationalities living in STL. Like that they have a good selection of fruit and spices. They dedicated an isle just to food of the Philippines, but only carry frozen fish. If you want to eat butter that is from Ireland and Denmark then this is your place...

I find them to be pricier than they need to be, as the other international store, Jay International on Grand is much more reasonable and features 99% the same items. One example is the frozen Japanese seafood, which gets repackaged into smaller tubs, and costs about 2 bucks more per pound than at Jays. Another big item for me are pitted calamata olives in a 1 gallon jar. They never have that at Global, but you can find them at Jays!

They have almost everything from everywhere. Never met an employee who could be asked for help locating an item, but it is kind of interesting to browse through the whole store by yourself anyways. The quality is usually good and products are fresh; never had a bad product. This place has stuff that you cant find in other grocery stores, especially international food ingredients.

I honestly never thought Id find a store like this in Missouri. I really like to travel, and I love culture. Knowing that there is a store near me where I can get all kinds of international food items that are uncommon in this part of the US is great. I can even find Bulgarian candy here! Its nice to know I can find my own countrys food here.

I love this place, mainly because there is nothing else like it around. They have those hard to find foods/spices that you cant find at other grocery stores, especially when you are trying to cook a certain type of ethnic food. I just wish they had more organic selections, which is why I took off 1 star..
