The furniture looks good and the quality is just OK. My main complaint is that Unruh gave my wife and I an estimated completion time when we purchased our furniture and then failed to ever contact us in order to inform us that the completion date had changed. This was surprising when the invoice we received even stated they would call us four days prior to delivery. When I contacted Sam Unruh he did apologize for the mistake and delivered a partial order of what they had complete. He was also generous enough to loan us two benches until our other furniture was available. My wife and I felt there was no real effort made to rectify or compensate for the mistake other than loan us some benches. In the business world, if you state a completion date (estimated or not) that is a solidified date until you communicate otherwise to your client that you can not meet that deadline. We purchased five thousand dollars worth of furniture and when Unruh did not take the time to inform me of a deadline change then it made me feel like I was not valued as a client. Upon delivery of the rest of our furniture I noticed a couple things. First was the bench we ordered had not been sanded down smooth on one side and was still rough. Second was our dresser. The track on one of the doors catches on the frame because they did not make it with enough clearance. Both are relatively easy fixes but I had higher hopes on their quality control and craftsmanship for as much as we paid. A few days after our delivery I had hoped to hear from Unruh for a follow up since we had had troubles. I never received a follow up so I wrote Sam Unruh once again expressing my disappointment in how I was handled as a client. When I received a response back no mention was made as to what could be done to improve upon the situation. Instead he sent a simple sorry. In summary I think Unruh has good looking furniture, OK craftsmanship, and terrible business practices/ personal relations. With the way we were handled and the price we paid my wife and I would not recommend Unruh.

Update to original review. We contacted the owner as he requested. We are just so disappointed. We sent our table back twice for warranty work and it never came back the same. Sand-papery feel - not smooth. Emailed and personally met with the owner, we felt he wasnt interested in fixing the problem. Just told us the more we use it the smoother it will get. "moisture in the wood" Were not buying it. Neither were his delivery people. Delivery guys were SO nice and said they would forward on the issue....but no one ever followed up with us. We got a lemon and we are so sad. :( ************************************************************************ The furniture is beautiful. Really nice, sturdy and useful. Conversation piece. Solid, tried and true warranty. Unfortunately, the communication (or lack thereof), delivery process/scheduling, quality control are HORRIBLE! If you have a lot of patience and dont mind dates, times and information continually changing, then go ahead and order! Over promising and under delivering is a recipe for customer disappointment. We felt like at Unruh, the customer is not always right. We had lots of quality control issues. Our table was sent back twice for obvious issues that should have been caught and fixed before delivery.

I really dont know where to begin about my buying experience with Sam and the team at Unruh. I was in need of a new table but knew I didnt want some mass-produced piece of fiberboard from some factory mill somewhere. After talking with a few local woodworking guys at area antique shows, I stumbled upon Unruh Furniture through word of mouth from a friend, and boy am I glad I did! Although their website is crisp and gives a good descriptor of the different options and alternative, the experience really takes on a different level once you actually go to their shop to see, feel and touch their furniture (and the ability to look out in the workshop to see actual pieces being made is pretty cool too!). It sounds corny but it really does feel like my kitchen table was made by family, and will last well into my (future) grandchildrens future. Prices are very reasonable in comparison, for what you get in quality. Cant say enough good things, but will never buy big box retail furniture ever again!

Working with Sam and his team was an all-around fantastic experience! They were incredibly professional, prompt, responsive and super friendly. And the quality of work is impeccable - his beautiful furniture proves that Sam and his team are truly passionate and meticulous about what they do. I absolutely LOVE the pieces Sam made for us - theyre unique and beautiful, and exactly what we needed. It was so easy and pleasant working with Sam to determine what type of piece I needed for my space and how best to accomplish it. He worked within my timeline and budget, and the finished product exceeded my expectations! Everyone at Unruh was exceptionally helpful - from the first email to helping us load our tables once they were finished. Every person who comes into our office compliments me on the tables and asks where we got them. Thank you Sam and the team at Unruh! I cant wait until I have another furniture need and get the opportunity to work with you again.

We just received our beautiful Country French dining table from Unruh Furniture today, and it is so much more then I expected. It is absolutely beautiful!! I so wish I had found them earlier, as I have gone thru 2 dining room tables from a local furniture store. This is a solid wood table and very heavy and just stunning in our kitchen/dining area. This table will be in our family for years and years to come. You can choose so many tables, bases and tops. We went to their website first and looked at everything and decided on one table, but when we went to their showroom, I saw this table and fell in love with it. Josh is the one that helped us decide on colors by looking at pictures of our kitchen area. Once you decide on the piece you want, that is when they start to make your order. Lots and Lots of beautiful handmade furniture to choose from. We are so happy with our choice. Thanks everyone at Unruh for this beautiful piece of furniture.

I ordered the Bedford Table and the Dover Hutch. Both pieces are beautiful. They are very well finished. Both pieces have a vintage look, while being nice, new pieces. They are clearly handmade while being completely professional. One of the things I am most excited for is to see how they age. It is clear that they will develop even more character over time. Sam, the owner, was friendly and professional during the entire process. I had made an initial mistake on the order that we fixed quickly. Any other issues were resolved quickly and in a courteous and professional manner. The delivery drivers were careful with the product, kept me informed of when they would be arriving, and were able to install the pieces quickly. They were also very friendly. The prices are good for the high quality of the product they store produces. I highly recommend Unruh Furniture.

My husband and I just received our custom bedroom furniture from Unruh and couldnt be more pleased. From the moment we had a consultation with Nathan to pick out our pieces and design it was a great experience. He listened to our concerns made sure we had time to choose colors and even customized sizes that would fit our bedroom needs. I anxiously awaited the furnitures arrival and was worried I would not get the pieces before thanksgiving, but Unruh made sure they delivered the Monday before. They kept me up to date at where they were before the delivery and made it convenient for us. Once the furniture was here I was so impressed with the delivery guys. They showed us how to put it all back together and even talked to us about who made our pieces. It felt so personal and special. We will definitely be returning for our furniture needs.
