Something has changed since the move, the staff arent as nice as they used to be. The selection is great still but our last few experiences havent been the best. Example was wa wine class... at 70$ per person, the bottles were from 2012, 2014, 2015.. the class was attended in 2016. So, 6 bottles split between 15 people... bad vintages. 70$x15 for mediocre wine, a freezing cold room, cheese and like one full,glass of wine total per,person, never again. The place has changed a,lot and its not as friendly as it once was. The class we attended was an outright scam, almost shockingly so. Really outrageous. The staff arent as friendly as they used to be, at least to us. Something in our eyes has changed here. It doesnt have a neighborhood feel anymore. We wish them well, but that "class" was so bad I doubt we return. Sorry to write this review but the ownership should maybe take notice. The store still has the best selection in town. Its just more corporate in feel and less friendly. We wish them well.

I love shopping there. They have amazing selection of varied wines at varied price points. They have an impeccable staff. It is very clean and beautiful as well. They have a parkng lot. They have phenomenal classes and savory items that are too too tempting. I just love this place. The best guidance for a party or a dinner, and gift baskets to order. They are helpful and accomodating. It is damn near impossible to find a place with so many positives anywhere. The only negative is that there is so much delucious and incredible stuff that my diet goes to hell just walking in the door.

Our favorite wine shop. The staff here consistently offer the highest level of customer service and are always willing to listen to your preferences and then recommend a great wine. They have an extensive selection of wines in all price ranges, from the $20-25 "bargains" to the super premium imports and prestige wines. They frequently offer regular free tastings as well as hosted classes and pairing events for a modest fee. They also have a fantastic selection of gourmet cheeses and meats, as well as spirits. Hands down the best wine shop in St. Louis.

I was looking for a wine store near our hotel and Ive found the Wine Merchant. Im from Europe and I wanted to buy US wine from Napa Valley. I went there once and the service was just perfect. Every time I return I go there to buy some specific wines even though I stay 30 minutes from the store. Just returned yesterday and after 5 years, still the same service. Everyone is helpful and always had a good experience there. Thanks guys.

Hands down best wine and spirits store in town. Oh... and dont forget their cheese too! Absolutely no stodginess in this place. The staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. Looking for a solidly good $10 bottle of Pinot, a small vintage aged Bordeaux, or anything in between, these guys know their stuff :-)
