If you are expecting a retail store, shop elsewhere. This is a real outlet store. Goodwill uses a color tag system to identify how long most items have been in their retail stores. After 3 or 4 weeks (depending on the store) items are put on sale for half price on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday they are marked down to 25% of the original price. Anything that doesnt sell after that is pulled from the shelves/racks and either discarded or dumped into pallet sized containers for shipment to the Outlet Store. Prices at the Outlet Store vary depending on the type of item. Most all prices are dirt cheap compared to the stores. The Goodwill Outlet Store Staff does some minimal sorting. Materials may be loosely grouped into furniture, soft line (clothes/cloth accessories), hard think (think dishes, toys, seasonal, lamps), and shoes/luggage. Furniture items are brought onto the sales area one at a time, throughout the day. Most everything else is placed into giant waist high rolling trays called boats. The boats are brought out in "waves" of 6 to 10. The contents depend on what is received from the stores. The sales floor is a hectic place. Staff navigate the 350+ boats a day through the sea of preoccupied customers who are digging for items or sorting through their carts. Rotation of new boats has its own set of "rules" and is not for the feint of heart. Here are the highlights for new customers. Staff begins by removing a group of older boats. Customers crowd around the empty space, strategically positioning themselves for first access. You can look but do not touch the new boats. Be ready. When staff gives the all clear, grab what you want and put an it in your bag or cart. You can put it back later if you decide against it. Yes, two people may want the same thing. Anyone who frequents thrift stores or garage sales has done this before, just at a much slower pace. People here are generally courteous, but in a hurry. Finally, you will notice that regular customers find single shoes and later flip coins or otherwise trade/barter for the mate. It took me a while to figure that out. Needless to say, everything is sold "as is". As others have said, bring gloves and be prepared to spend some time. The lighting could be better, but aside from that, I would highly recommend the Goodwill Outlet for some great deals if you are willing to dig for them.

I always find amazing deals when I come here. It can get crowded at times but overall most people are usually friendly. Be sure to bring your own bags for items you buy as they are not provided. I also bring a pair of gloves to wear while digging through the big bins of clothing; always be careful as their was a broken wine glass in a clothing bin I almost cut myself on last time. (employees should be sure to check this - couldve caused a major problem) Also they do not have a ton of shopping carts so if you go at a busy time you may not get one. Pricing goes by the pound and the more you buy the cheaper it will cost you per pound. My last trip I got around 30 lbs of clothing and paid $29.38.

Just had an employee "B" scream at me while I was opening up the trunk of my car to give HIM a donation of a small box, which he threw on the floor and then yelled "You dont understand anything Im saying" repeatedly. And then dropped the clothes. And then forgot the donation slip, until I asked again for it, which made him madder. Not sure what Im supposed to understand, except there are lots of other Goodwills and charities. I would avoid this one. At all costs. Unless you like to be screamed at for bringing a donation to them. Really unfortunate face to a deserving organization.

Some of the employees are rude. Ive been hit by the bins they push around because they are in such a rush to move everything. Also while you are digging through bins they will pull them away without saying anything. The cashiers were friendly. Its 99% junk but you just gotta keep digging and youll find a great deal on something. The electronics are usually broken so keep that in mind. No wall outlets to test anything. There is often broken glass in the houseware bins so you might want to wear gloves.

Great deals for unique stuff! A lot of the people here buy stuff to resell. Basically, you purchase by the pound the items that Goodwill couldnt sell in their regular stores. Even though that doesnt sound promising, you find a lot of overlooked gems like vintage jackets and high end shoes and bags. Just bring some gloves to protect your hands.

Just want to inject another customer opinion that was there David is a good guy Gelli the customer in question was dressed extremely inappropriately, Ill be more blunt and say what David showed to much class to say this woman was not wearing underwear in a skirt way to short for her around children. Never enough carts. Employees always act like their doing ME the favor... If only they were told how much I pay directly influences their hours maybe theyd think again. Fridley store appreciates the business I give, why cant you?

If you have never been there before, you will not know what is going on. The clothes can be ripped and smell bad, but everything is .99 a pound. But no signs or help unless you ask. Some shoppers are rude, staff was good.

Excellent broken/ used electronic deals. All electronics are about quarter. I picked up an iRobot Roomba, all it needed a new bump sensor LED. Most people search through the bins of clothes, that isnt my thing.

They need to go back to the old rules of carts against the wall. I almost got knocked over twice and its not a safe place for kids. If you want amazing deals on clothes this is the place to go
