You couldnt PAY me to keep my horse here. This is a farm that has to change its name every few years to get rid of their bad reputation. Horse corpses have been left for dead for weeks, while the barn owner still was charging the horse owner for extra daily food, and claiming that they were hand-walking the horse daily. His body had been decomposing for 2 weeks before the owner (who was out of town) found out that he was dead. Dont take lessons here. They are known for taking advantage of new and unknowledgable horsepeople and overcharging them crazy amounts for lessons. Riding instructors would not even be classified as beginning amateurs. Barn is falling apart, water damage on roof means horse/tall people have to duck. Poorly managed, over priced. Walls held up with rotting 2 by 4s. Their bad reputation can be heard even hundreds of miles away. Dont get taken advantage of. There are SO many other farms that are so much better around the Fargo/Moorhead area. Any other ranch will provide better care.

I have been going to 3 Gems Stables for the last 4 years, and have boarded horses there the last 3 years. The owner treats every horse on the property as if it was her own, and shows great love and care for not only the horses but the people who come through there. My 3 children are involved in 4H, riding lessons, and the saddle club offered by this facility. In the last 4 years the time, money and effort put into improving the entire property and business are too many to count. Every person involved in this barn is part of a community of caring, knowledgeable, and multi talented individuals who I feel would bend over backwards to help out others. Every aspect of the day to day life at this facility is geared towards bettering the life of the horses, the people, and the community. There is not a single negative thing I could say about MY FAVORITE PLACE ON EARTH!

My horse has been at 3 Gems for the past year and a half. When we brought him to this barn, he was in very poor condition. He began to change overnight and regained all of his weight and then some. His attitude improved (my attitude improved too!) and hes still there! I cant imagine boarding him elsewhere. The community that these owners have created is genuine, welcoming, and encourage others to participate in any way they might. The barn is clean, the yard is clean, lots of time has gone into grooming and improving trails through the trees down by the river. Boarders have access to both indoor and outdoor arenas, two roundpens, and of course, the trails! The horses are fat and sassy, and so very happy--as are the boarders. Do your research. Visit boarding facilities. Look at the horses. Speak to other boarders. Love this place!

I moved my horse Stella here, after struggling with unacceptable conditions and food restrictions in another environment. She was borderline too thin and had gained a hostile attitude in relation to food as well as being regularly bit and kicked. I had never been so happy at a barn. She was fed on a regular schedule, greta offered holding services amoungst others to better her health and quality free fed hay, virtually eliminating her issues with food agression. The facilities have been in a constant evolution over the time we were there and I continued to be impressed with the efforts made to include all horses and their owners with plans and upcoming events, and encouragement to engage in open conversation about any ideas to improve experiences there and would highly recommend this place as somewhere to board in the FM area.

I visited 3 Gems because I wanted to check it out before I referred people there for lessns or boarding. I could not have been happier. It is exactly the kind of place and people I am happy to send people to. Greta is passionate about providing quality horse care and awesome experiences for people who want to spend time with horses. Whether you are looking for lessons, boarding, or some nice indoor riding time in the winter (she has rates for that!) I wholeheartedly give her my endorsement. The facility, which I have been familiar with for 30+ years has gone through several incarnations but the positive and impressive improvements I have seen in the last four years, since Greta bought it and took the reins, assure that horses and their people will have a great experience.

I have recommended this stable to friends and family looking to board a horse or take riding lessons. There is a large outdoor arena, an indoor arena, two round pens, and fields plus trails to ride. The owners and staff work very hard to provide quality care for the horses. The people are friendly, fun, and very helpful. If you are looking for a "no drama" place to board with lots of activities (like a saddle club) this is the place to be!

Although, I do not have a horse here. I go with a friend to visit it her horse. Owners seem nice. They are always quick to contact my friend if there is a problem. And it is clean and well cared for. Beautiful view along the river, too.

Fabulous facility under apt ownership/management. The facility has undergone tens of thousands of dollars in repairs, and is a safe and welcoming environment for horses and people alike!
