Shops Timeline. Aug 30, 2016 9:18pm Aug 30, 2016 9:16pm I am posting here to help ensure that other brides to be have a better experience with their dresses. I believe my experience dress shopping has been tarnished by my familys most recent visit to the store. My mother and I really enjoyed our first visit to the Dress Shop. I thought I found the perfect dress and enjoyed the experience so much decided to bring my bridal party to the store to look at additional wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses. I thought we were making good memories as the sales staff was really friendly. We choose the Dress Shop because we prefer the care and attention that smaller stores usually offer and the location was perfect being halfway between my parents house and mine (we live an hour and a half apart). Unfortantely, after the sale ended we feel we were mislead and no longer looked after. Either this store does not care about their customers after their sale or they need to hire additional staff. At the time of my dress purchase I scheduled was assured I could book alterations for myself at the shop. Since it is a 45 minute drive, I called 3 days before the appointment to confirm, but it was not until I was undressed in the dressing room that they let me know that my previously confirmed appointment was canceled. Instead of helping me find a solution, they made me feel mislead and blame me for not getting their calls or emails about the cancellation. I check my voicemail regularly and my email (including spam) and I did not receive a notice from them. Additionally: Myself and all of my brides maids left our contact information, but were never contacted when our dresses arrived. Instead, we had to call each week and inquiry when our dresses arrived. My sister arrived for her alterations and felt rushed as her 1/2 hr appoint was over in 5 mins. My cancelled alterations appointment could not be rescheduled due to no other availability before my wedding. This wasnt too much of an issue for me because after our bad experiences I have no desire to go back to this store and I ended up finding an alternative store that was able to take care of me that day with no issues.

Up until The Dress Shop, I had horrible experiences dress shopping. Im not a sample size bride, so I kept getting paraded around in dresses that were too small, standing on pedestals next to brides that better fit their sample sizes and it was hurting my self esteem. I was sick of searching through rows and rows of dresses trying to guess if the white poof in a garment bag would flatter me. I wanted a better, more intimate experience with a consultant who could help guide me into finding THE dress. Enter Brianna and The Dress Shop. First, we were running about 30 minutes because of a sleeping baby and snow, and they were so patient. I never felt rushed or like I inconvenienced them. We were brought into a private room where we chatted about my likes/dislikes. I was given pink rings to hang on the dresses I like and from there they would pull the dresses for me (who knew?!). One of the dresses I loved was even on a mannequin and they made sure I was able to try it on (thankfully since thats the gown I chose!). I dressed in private, and then Brianna would come in and help me pin it to its best fit, and then we would open the curtains to show my family who came with me. We sipped on champagne, laughed a lot, and I felt like every single dress I tried on was flattering. When I was down to two favorites, they helped me select two unique sets of accessories to try it on and "jazz it up" and that did the trick. I ordered my Moonlight Bridal Gown (a brand I had yet to hear of or try on) that day! I cant wait for it to come in! Also worth mentioning, about half of the dresses I tried on were half of my budget! I ended up with one at the top, but couldnt believe how beautiful some of the lesser priced gowns were.

Our appointment started out nice. And as time went on the consultant seemed to get more rude and pushy. The bride had brought 2 brides maids the maid of honor and her mom for support and opinions. The consultant basically told the party we were to be quiet and keep out opinions and comments to ourselves. She only wanted to hear the brides likes and dislikes. At the end of the visit the consultant wanted to put a veil on the bride and asked the bride which dress she wanted on with the veil. When the bride told her she said no, were going to put you in this other dress. It felt like the consultant was pushing this one dress. And when the mother of the bride was talking to the bride about a dress she had tried on the consultant took the dress out of the room as if to say"we dont really care what you like mom". The dresses were a bit over priced. They tell you they cant discount the dresses any as they are at their lowest price but I find that hard to believe as we went to a boutique in Milford that had much more reasonable prices for designer dresses. We would not buy a dress from here due to how they treated the wedding party and their pushing of the one dress they wanted her to commit to. It made it not a good experience. Dresses might be their job but the brides party knows her, what she likes, what ahe doesnt like, what looks good on her and she had us their for our opinions. Would not go back or give them our business.

From the moment I walked in to The Dress Shop, I immediately felt like this would be where I would find THE dress. After a poor first experience elsewhere, the store was a breath of fresh air, and Rachel made me feel like a princess (even though that’s not necessarily in my nature, it is, after all, my big day and moment!). We had our own private room for me and my guests, were offered mimosas to set the mood, and Rachel got to know ME, my fiancé, our vision for our big day, and us before getting carried away with dresses. But when it was time to look, she took into account pictures I liked, my body type, my mom and bridesmaids’ opinions to help us. But best yet, she nor anyone from The Dress Shop, was pushy – they let me determine my opinion of a dress before sharing theirs, she confirmed dresses that were over budget before I tried them on, and were incredibly helpful the whole time. Once I had chosen THE one, the moment felt even more magical because everyone around the store would sneak peeks and you could see the joy beaming from their faces too – like it was the first time they saw someone who just picked out their wedding dress. You can tell everyone here loves what they do. The dress fittings and alterations in house were also second to none in terms of service, timeliness, quality, and price. I would recommend The Dress Shop to any future bride – you won’t be disappointed with your experience!

Recently visited this shop for a friend of mine who is getting married, this was the second shop she had went to and with the help of the amazing consultant she was able to find her dream dress! We went back for the bridesmaid dresses after going to Davids Bridal and Beckers Bridal. They were able to squeeze us in last minute (called and they fit us in the same day). We are on a bit of a time crunch to find a dress and they were the most helpful shop for both bridal and bridesmaid dresses. If youre planning a wedding look nowhere else. This shop seriously blows all others out of the water. Our party had come in a little defeated, because we had spent a day of shopping and found nothing, this team was amazing and completely changed our attitudes and made it FUN! They assisted and educated us on our choices but most importantly they let us make the decision we wanted, they are so supportive and were not pushy. When it is time for my big day (one day...) I will look no farther than The Dress Shop. They are 2 for 2 with me!
