Have been to this store a bunch of times, this time with my 24-year-old son. I came in with dirty hands. The hand wipes at the front door were empty. So, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands, instead. Then I picked up a hand scanner. The scanner station would not recognize my phone number. After multiples tries, I flagged down a manager, who had to reboot the entire computer. Waited for that. Finally, 15 minutes after entering the store, I got a working scanner --- so I thought. Did a major shopping, scanning each item. Went to checkout. The checkout machine would not accept the scanner. An employee came over to us. He said he had to verify that we scanned all our items, as if we were trying to cheat the store. We waited for him to scan everything. Then he concluded something was wrong with the scanner, which is what we told him. He took the scanner to the scanning station and promptly erased all of my scans. A manager came over to us and said we would have to go through checkout. No apology for the 40 minutes we wasted in their store. No apology for treating us like cheats. No apology for failed technology. We said "no thank-you" and left the full shopping cart at the checkout line. We shopped at Safeway and that went smoothly. Giant is now off our list of grocery stores, not because of failed technology, but because of failed decent treatment of customers. Safeway, Shoppers Food Warehouse, Trader Joes, My Organic Market and others are all nearby. No one needs Giant Food.

Have the option at this store to self scan items as you shop, gives running total and able to review cart and delete if necessary. Bag the way you like as you go. Cold food with cold food! There is also an app for Android devices that uses the camera to scan barcodes. When those systems work shopping is a breeze, you bag as you go through the store based on the list you made. You go thru a self checkout lane, put the scanner with the Barcode up to a reader and your done. If you had any loose vegetables, make sure to weigh them, print a bar code label, scan it and toss it into your own grocery bags. Pay as you normally would and youre out the door without having to take everything out of the cart, get scanned and randomly bagged and back into the cart. I dont know why more Stores dont offer this! What a customer satisfaction booster! Try it, youll luv it!

Is there a way to give the store zero stars? I found a product on sale. It was a very generous sale ($6.50 off an item that normally sells for $13.49). The sale price wasnt in the computer. The clerk sent someone to do a price check and she ripped the sale price off the item and the similar item next to it and claimed I was mistaken about the price. This on an item I had checked less than 5 minutes before. It was clearly a sale from headquarters, and supposed to be in effect for almost another month. The tag on the shelf specified the regular price, the discount, the sale price and how long the price would be in effect. I was so angry, I went back to Bethesda/Chevy Chase to do the rest of my shopping. I may not shop in Rockville for a month, I am so angry.

I was there 9/19/2017 . I got there at 8:19 AMI!!! I got everything I needed and came to registered and waited for 30 minutes to Check out and one of the cashier was so terrible when I asked for help (black lady) her response was Im so busy to help you and I left the store after waiting in line for 30 minutes. THEY ONLY HAVE ONE REGISTERED OPENED IN THE WHOLE STORE AND THEY DONT HAVE ANY SELF CHECKOUT JNTIL 7:30 AM!!! DONT COME TO THIS GIANT IN ROCKVILLE THEY HAVE A SUCH HORRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE VERY UNFRIENDLY PERSONAL AND BAD COSTUMER SEEVICE

wanted to buy a cake at 7:30 pm. I knew which cake I wanted to buy. I went to the counter and two employees were standing at the customer service counter doing nothing. I asked the woman with the union pin on her shirt if I could get a cake and she refused, saying they would not sell any cakes after 7 pm. All it would have taken was one of these lazy employees to go behind the counter and box up the cake but thy refused. poor service which reflects badly on unions. Went to Food Lion and they happily helped me in the bakery there.

Giant store ...always have a good quality of products fresh and clean, also the international floor is good, because I can fine products from peru with I loved, be a customer from 30 years of giant. . The cortesy of the workers make even better to shop in. Thanks Giants in Hungerford drive in Rockville md. ... Also,..the Giants in Travilia in shady Grove roud md. The manager are very nice, ,like the workers in the produces department hard workers people. . Thanks Giants store.

Weve shopped here for a few years now. The people who work here are always so nice and helpful. Quite a few recognize us. If we come in on a day we dont normally shop they joke with us about this. Knowing us is good customer service. Produce is alwsys fresh and plentiful. The bakery alway has great bread. If the store doesnt carry an item they will order it for you. I alwsys find everything i need though and The PRices Are Great!!

I just cant shop at a grocery store that has more machines than people. Besides that, its the only store where my card wont work. It needs more staff that will help reduce unemployment. Right now they aid to an increase by having self check outs.

Not amazing not horrible. Your typical grocery store. Has most things but sometimes hard to find employees when you need help. However, they are helpful once you find them. Definitely needs more cashiers in lines, which are always under staffed.

I personally hate Giants self check out kiosks... other grocery stores have better kiosk systems in my opinion. The produce also seems like a hit or miss, especially the onions. Decent sales every now and then though.

This Giant isnt laid out well. Its a grocery store that has food, the employees are decent humans, and the place is relatively clean so it gets three stars. Last thing- the produce is bordering on atrocious at times.

Worst grocery store ever!!! The management is horrible and rude! If you need help dont expect to get any without an attitude. You might be bothering them! Good luck if you wanna shop here.

At one point tried to sign up for a bonus card and the customer service desk worker just upped and left. Its no wonder alternate supermarkets are starting to pop up.

Decent location (you can access it easily from either side of the road). The expected selection for a grocery store. Checkout can get backed up sometimes.
