This place is absolutely ridiculous. At 9am, Monday, July 25th I ordered a part on the Pep Boys website for In-Store-Pickup at the Hyattsville location. I paid for it, received a confirmation number and confirmation email that stated "Your Order is Ready for Pick-up." So that evening at 4:45pm on Monday, July 25th, I walked in to the Pep Boys in Hyattsville and went to the area in the back of the store where the sign says: "Pick up Online Orders Here." Of course I brought the print-out with the confirmation number and purchase receipt and handed it to the person at the counter. Can you believe it took the guy over 20 minutes of looking and searching in the back of the store and in the isle that my item would have been located had I went in to the store to buy it originally! They didnt even start work on fulfilling the order when I ordered it at 9am. Ridiculous, I would have been fired if I was that incompetent at my job. Anyway, long story short, they did NOT have the item I had the confirmation for. So I said to the guy, "Whats going on here, has Pep Boys not figured out the whole online ordering thing yet? Its 2016, BOPS and all. You had nearly 8 HOURS to get this order together." He had no response. (BOPS is the acronym used by retailers for "Buy Online, Pick up in Store"). Anyway, I left the store with a similar—but not the same—item I ordered online, and of course it doesnt fit!! So I went back to the store at 7pm and returned the incorrect part. Ugh, so frustrating. But seriously Pep Boys, cancel your lease, tear down the store and let another business operate there. Maybe even let a Jiffy Lube, OReillys, or a 7-11 operate there. Chances are that a different business would understand customer service, technology and merchandising. And please, please dont respond to this review with your typical response of "We regret to hear about your experience at one of our stores...." baloney. Just get it together or close the store.

I noticed my tire was flat around 9pm last night while visiting my mother. I put some air in it as a quick fix, hoping it would survive my 30 mile work commute to Baltimore. Luckily, it did, with no flat. However, I decided it was best to take it in for inspection anyway. I got there around 8:15, about 45 minutes before they were to close. The service specialist, Antonio, came out to my car, found the problem and said it would only take a few minutes to repair, but since it was so soon to closing time, he was unsure if their mechanic would be able to get to my tire. Sure enough, the mechanic said he wouldnt do it. I told Antonio that I had a long commute to work tomorrow and asked if there was anything I would be able to do about getting my car in the next morning to ensure I wouldnt be late. Without a hesitation, he told me to hold on and went back into the garage. A few seconds later, he came back out and started taking my information. Assuming he was setting me up for an appointment tomorrow morning, I asked him how this was going to work. He replied "Im going to fix your tire." Fifteen minutes later, when my tire was all finished, a bit confused, I asked him what happened, because I thought the one mechanic that was there was too busy to service my vehicle. He told me that he helped the mechanic out, to speed along the process so that my car could be worked on. Although it was probably something small for them, the fact that he was able to take on extra work to help me get work on my car done solidified my opinion about this place. Ill definitely be going back next time I have tire issues. Thanks, Pep Boys.

I do not recommend this location unless you are a patient person. Every visit required a follow up visit because a procedure was performed incorrectly. I appreciated the fact that their prices was reasonable and they offered coupons. However you get what you pay for. I got an awesome deal on rear brakes and struts in October. I drove off the lot and was almost in an accident as my tires were positioned if it were pigeon toed feet, I felt that I did not have control as I drove. I returned to the lot and they adjusted it for me. Then brakes squealed horribly which I mentioned before I left the lot. I was told by the gentleman at the register that over time the sound would go away. The sound only got worse. Since I was under warranty I returned, not only did the brakes continue to squeal but now my brake lights came on and my battery light. Third visit...they said the reason for this was because my alternator was bad...They install a new alternator but forget to plug it in. This caused my battery to die in mid traffic. I couldnt even turn my hazard lights on as incoming traffic came towards me and could have been rear ended. I learned to just pay the money to get the job done correctly.

Just go else where to another pepboys. Ive had better service in upstate ny than this place. No point in making an appointment for service online. They dont follow it and serve However they feel. They also fail to mention policies to customers. I came in for an alignment and they wasted 2 hours of my car being up just to do nothing and tell me I need to get a tie rod replace and quoted me 200. I told them I would just do it myself and come back bc I could replace it for a 10th the price. I go back and then I tell them I came previously and replaced the part. They then tell me that I have to pay for another alignment bc I changed parts and voided my free alignments warranty. Had to complain at them for failing to inform me when I told them I would replace it myself and wouldnt leave to they agreed to do it for free for not telling me about this all. They ended up doing it and made me wait over 3 hours after my scheduled appointment. They also tried to make it seem like it was my fault when they are the ones that never mentioned about there policy. But hey they didnt forget the tie rod quote repair right?

Id seen a Pep Boys ad on TV for a tire sale & I needed to get new tires so I googled the closest one to DC. Id seen a negative review but I figured it was only 1 and probably just a person who had a bad experience. I wish I had listened to the advice! I went in on a Saturday to get 2 new tires and an oil change. I was told it would take about an hour and a half. I had gone with a friend so we wandered around the area and went back in. They hadnt even moved the car from where Id parked it. The customer service guy said hed take care of it and make sure it was next in line and that it should only be another 45 minutes. Wandered around some more (and for those who have been out here - theres not that much to do within walking distance) and came back. The car still hadnt been moved. This happened 2 more times. In the end it took 8 hours and I wasnt the only one who was having an issue. The whole waiting room was full of unhappy customers and the manager wouldnt do anything to make up for it for any of us. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone!
