The Beltway Plaza Mall is a small, local enclosed Mall. The largest stores are Target, Burlington, Big Lots, Shoppers World, TJMax, and Giant. The rest are small chains and a lot of one-of-a-kind stores, which may make this mall worth visiting all by themselves. Ive lived in the area a couple decades and have enjoyed watching this mall grow and change, going from a fairly industrial look to a polished and fairly standard mall decor. They tried to make the area that is now Big Lots/Shoppers world into more small stores, but that didnt catch on. They also once had 14 movie theaters when the old 6 auditorium theater was still in use after the new 8 auditorium theater was built, but now there are just the 8. They added a big sporting goods store a while back, but it closed and now theres a big arcade; and there was a small indoor amusement park where adults were not permitted entry unless accompanied by a child, but that area is now a huge beauty supply store, and even more womens fashions. This doesnt appear to be a mall owned by some big chain, it seems to be owned by somebody who takes a real interest in it.

A horrible relic from the late 80s that looks like it hasnt been cleaned in about that long. Sad and unsafe are probably the best ways to describe it. Customers are warned to be careful about random attacks, and as a cyclist, I was seriously worried about my locked bike being stolen. There are some useful chain stores (Giant, planet fitness) but even these are marred by the atmosphere and infrastructure of the mall (for instance, the Planet Fitness here feels claustrophobic and dark - the opposite of what a gym should feel like). Most stores range from "dont need" to "outright scam". In the latter category, theres a "health" store dedicated to selling snake oil "natural" remedies. Included are large, graphic pictures of diseased colons. Honestly, this store is a day ruiner. If you go there, youre guaranteed to feel like crap leaving. Not to mention the parking situation is something straight out of Dantes Inferno. Avoid at all costs.

All depends on the Terrible Taxi Cabbies... . Mall Security is the greatest, but the Taxi drivers dont make it easy for them.... ever!!! Taxi drivers are CONSTANTLY blocking Handicap aprons and custoner cross walks. And are ALWAYS parked in the FIRE LANE, taking naps, eating, reading or talking with folks. God forbid there should be a fire. Beltway Plaza ownwers should convert one side/row of parking spaces. Thats aproxamately 10 car spaces. (And i dont mean Handicap ones.) Make those a Taxi cab Lane/stand. Just like Metro & Airport. Then cabbies pull up in it, 1st come, 1st serv, Next in line for a cab. Then all the Giant customers, and the Handicap and families with strollers and small children can cross safely. Let Mall Security be freed up for bigger issues instead of taxi cabs blocking everything.

Think of the worst run down mall you have ever been to and I betcha this place can top it. It is clean yet dirty- you dont see roaches but believe me they are there. Definitely not a place for you to want to explore- more like get what you need, find it, go. They do have variety but if you are not looking for what they are selling do not bother for instance if you are not African you would not need to shop at the African clothing store. If you are looking for a big event like prom, wedding no need to shop there. They have a couple good eats. I love the cookies, pizza, and Jamaican food, beauty store, Pia. It is just the atmosphere that ruins it. Place is long over due for renovation and has friendly employees. The only thing keeping this place up is Micheals, Jo ann, target, Burlingtons, and the grocery store.

This place is quite an experience. I am giving it four stars because I am a HUGE fan of Target, TJ Max, Marshalls, Big Lots and Burlington. I just moved here and seeing all of them together tickled me so much! Some of the small business stores inside the actual mall part do seem odd, cheap and out of place. Every big store and the mall itself need renovations and major organizing. As a young woman, I did feel uneasy walking by myself at NIGHT back to my car after a grocery run at Giant. Because men tend to loiter around this place and parking lot after nightfall. I know they are probably harmless and minding their own business, but Im just being honest. Coming from someone who is shy and has anxiety. During the day I am much more comfortable.

This is not your typical suburban mall...this is a mall with personality! The stores there have all the basics plus a unique array of small independently owned stores that offer the unusual. Plus this mall hosts a variety of community events to benefit local non-profit organizations. I even stopped in to view their Wall of Fame that features local VIPs and community leaders that have improved the lives of local residents. VERY interesting! Then I went to the smoothie shop and sat eating drinking the most delicious smoothie ever and just watched the activities in the mall. What a great way to spend an afternoon without the crazy crush of shoppers you find at the other local malls.

The last time I came here there were signs warning patrons they might be attacked and robbed of their name brand clothes, and someone had gone into the mens restroom and smeared poo everywhere. No, really, there must have been more than one person, because that much poo cant possibly be generated by one human body, in one sitting. Things have supposedly improved since then, but the stores here havent gotten so much better that Id come back. I prefer my shopping to be free of attacks and other peoples poo (in that order).

At first glance I have to admit this is definitely not your typical American mall. There are more small businesses than big box stores. Its full of random businesses but if you explore you will likely find a good deal on some unique clothes. This mall could use a major renovation but unfortunately I think this would mean the small businesses there may not survive. I would like to see the mall improve but also dont want cookie cutter big box stores, cafes, and restaurants completely taking over.

Place had pretty inexpensive clothing, all though the store was disorganized. They have a really great school uniform selection and good prices on womens clothing. Be careful though, some if the clothing has rips or holes in them and they usually pass those off as clearance items (bought a nice sweater for 5 dollars only to go home and realize it had a big hole where the elbow was supposed to be).

It is a small mall that has been very fun and that I have been going to since I was a little child. It has a fun arcade place that is in the other side of the mall with all sorts of games such as lazer tag.It is a good place to have a birthday party. It has a good movie theatre and great fast foodplaces and great clothing stores.

If you dont absolutely NEED to go here, dont. I cant imagine this mall surviving another 5 years without a major revamp. There are some new homes being built in the area so lets hope that with a little additional foot traffic, the mall will soon be able to afford a facelift and attract better stores and vendors.
