This past Thanksgiving, my husband tried Chess Pie for the first time and fell in love! But I told him that if he wanted truly awesome chess pie and chess pie that came in different flavors, where he really needed to go was this place! So, on our way home to St. Louis from Cincinnati, we stopped here! He actually ended up getting a slice of Caramel Apple Pie with a scoop of Creme Brûlée ice cream, because he really is a fan of apple pie. Im usually not crazy about fruit pies, but I tried a bite and it really was amazingly delicious! The thick layer of caramel (which has an icing/frosting consistency) really takes the whole experience to the next level!! Since they didnt have my favorite Chess Pie (Chocolate Chip), I went with the next best thing - Chocolate Chess Pie! I had this one last time and it was definitely worth a second tasting. I also picked up a Buckeye - one of my very favorite treats because it makes me think of Christmas at home in Ohio. The Buckeye was on the big side - definitely more than just one bite! And the peanut butter ball was smooth and creamy like butter! This will always be one of my favorite places to visit when Im coming through town, even if its out of our way. Totally worth it!!!

Went in late one night and staff was nice even though they were technically closed (my mistake for going so late). Purchased two items from the discounted items - German Chocolate Cake and Dutch Apple Pie - to take home. Staff was courteous, professional, friendly, and fun. Both the cake and the pie were delicious. The regular priced items are a little steep, so when I go back Ill go back for a special occasion, but I really want to try that Georgia Cake with pineapples and peaches so that special occasion better be soon! ;-) Great experience. Quality products. Fresh food. Yummy!

Two strikes for this place..the last time I was here the line was 20 people long with only 1 person behind the counter..only after waiting 15 minutes for service did I notice another worker on "break" sitting in a booth and playing on her phone..this time I asked for a coffee to go along with my pie and was told that they didnt have any. After asking if the coffee machine was broken I was told that the opener just hadnt made any..it doesnt even take 5 minutes to make coffee..lazy employees and terrible customer service.

I cant speak for the pie, only the ice cream, as thats what I went in for. I have had my fair share of ice cream, but this unfortunately is probably my least favorite. I got chocolate in the waffle cone. And my husband got (I believe) rocky road. The waffle cone was amazing! But the ice cream tasted very powdery and almost gritty. Not creamy at all. I sampled my husbands, and it was the same.

The online menu didnt show me much but when you walk into this place, its dessert overload. Pies, mirangue, cookies, cupcakes, cakes, and ice cream. I had chocolate pecan pie after not being able to decide. It was delicious. Not too sweet not too much chocolate. I also had cinnamon ice cream. I didnt match the two well, but separate they were both delicious. Defintely recommend.

Good. To the vegan guy, it say cream right in the name you moron. Plus its in the south. Plus youre a scarecrow, a 10yr old girl could beat the crap out of you. Youre the last person in the world who should be dieting. Oh, it also says pie in the title to. Who goes to a place called homemade ice cream and pies and looks for dietary choices?

Great selection of tasty treats. Lots of delicious pies, cakes, and ice-cream flavors to choose from. The staff is usually friendly and theres plenty of seating. It does get pretty busy and crowded on the weekends so the wait can get long. However, they do offer samples of the ice-cream.

The cake was good. The coffee cold asked to heat up coffee but still was only warm. Service was poor, young lady had a bad attitude. A nice evening of enjoying desert gets ruined when staff fails to do the most important job; be pleasant with the customer!

The place is kind of dirty and the water fountain has been broken for months (if not longer). The last time I was there there was water dripping from the roof on the floor. But they do have great ice cream at a fair price.

Food is really great and there is lots of really comfortable seating. However, the pricing is a little high and a lot of stuff is unmarked. Its a little awkward having to ask "how much is this" for like 5 things.

Love this place. Its in a very walkable area and always clean. The desserts are delicious, especially their Dutch caramel apple pie. Dont go expecting diet food. Great for dates or a treat with friends.

Great selection and their pecan pie blew my mind. Parking around there sucked and threats to tow your car were omnipresent if you put a foot wrong but not the restaurants fault.

AMAZING! Loved the praline ice cream and the pecan pie. Some of the best Ive ever had. Not too pricey either. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good dessert.

Great pie, great ice cream, good deli. Theres parking in the back, but sometimes finding a place to park can still be tricky. I recommend being able to parallel park.

Best blueberry pie Ive ever had. The staff was nice. There were lots of options (pie, cheesecake, cake, and ice cream). Would highly recommend this for families.

My Own Opinion

Great desserts and atmosphere! Very nice staff as well! Its not cheap but its worth the price if you want to treat yourself every once and a while.

Service is good. Pie and ice cream are usually super rich. I would recommend you come and visit after youve walked off dinner a bit.
