Stumbled across Brewed Awakenings when I was looking for a spot to do a little bit of homework. This place is an absolute diamond! Located across from Coe College and inside what appears to be an old barn like building, this place is totally boss. Lots of seating inside with plenty of outlets - great for getting some work done and charging your phone at the same time. The coffee selections are pretty expensive here, but the real fun stuff exists in their specialty espresso drinks. I tried the Don Correlejo and boy was that good. A double shot of espresso, some Mexican chocolate and a little bit of steamed cream. It was like some sort of unicorn mixed my coffee and then sprinkle some cinnamon in it! They had half a dozen specialty espresso drinks and plenty of options for those looking to caffeinate in either standard fashion or with additional sugar. Plenty of food options which appeared very nice, and while I didnt partake, the sandwich belonging to the gentleman next to me looked very appetizing. Super friendly folks here, answered many a question related to what was available and there was just enough Counter Culture to make the place feel exactly like a coffee shop should. Well I havent been to a lot of coffee places up in Cedar Rapids, this place takes the cake as my favorite. If you only have time to drink coffee at 1 place this year, youre doing something wrong. If you have a chance to drink coffee on a fairly regular basis, this is probably a place you should try!

I work here, but I work here so I could learn about coffee and espresso preparation from the folks who know their stuff. The staff is friendly, and know how to take friendly criticism if an espresso drink doesnt turn out just right, the game is self improvement, and it results in the best espresso experience I will most probably ever have. Its a great place to be, whether youre a coffeehead like myself, or just want a comfortable place to drink hot chocolate or tea. Brewed is full of win. Phred

Ive been going to Brewed Awakening a little over 8 years now, the coffee is great, and the staff are willing to have a chat about events that are happening within Cedar Rapids. If you like great coffee, and a place to learn what is happening in Cedar Rapids this is the place to be. Once in a while you may find a presidential candidate show up. The customer service could really use some work: Ive gotten coffee here twice and both times argued with the barista about what I wanted (No, I really dont want more coffee, even at the same price). The coffee itself is pretty good, but runs on the expensive side - a 16oz coffee with espresso is around four dollars. Even if the coffee is good, poor customer service and high prices means Ill probably stick to chain coffee.

I LOVE this place! Ellie is so kind. The environment is peaceful and enjoyable. Drinks are delicious. I have only been there twice now, and I can guarantee the majority of my paycheck will be spent there ;) Thank you for bringing so much beauty to Cedar Rapids! You make me love my new home!

Very friendly barista and homey feel inside. I was on a time limit but seems like a great place to hang out. I had a cappuccino which was smooth but too hot. The milk was also a little too frothy for my taste. The lemon poppyseed scone was crunchy, but in a good way. Would go back.

Wonderful atmosphere, a very popular study area for college students or a place to read, discuss and relax. Even non-coffee-drinkers can find something to sip here, and the pastries are worth getting every time. Great service, wonderful atmosphere, free wi-fi for customers.

Nice atmosphere, cheery service from Claire, free wifi, coffee drinks were good. Needed a bit more chia flavoring in my chia tea latte for my taste, but the more spice the more I like my chia. Will have to try the food sometime.

This is my favorite coffee place in town. I love the artsy atmosphere, the coffee is great, and the staff are fun and friendly. Also, there chocolate cake is to die for and I go there more often than I probably should.

The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. Great place to study for finals with friends. Good quality of coffee and wonderful serving. Got white chocolate mocha drink, very delicious. Cant wait to go back again!

Excellent breakfast sandwich and very tasty latte. Spent a while chatting with the staff about places to travel. Atmosphere is cozy and there are books to read, comfy couches, and free Wi-Fi.

The coffee was delectable however, they did not have cold brew which is a must for all coffee shops in my opinion. The lattes were spectacular nonetheless and still warrants 5 stars

The coffee here is amazing. I go here whenever I can to grab a cappichino, and blueberry muffin. The lunch menu is ok but not great. The atmosphere is great and cozy.

Great atmosphere!! The prices are reasonable. However, it gets rather busy during the semester with the college close. So it is sometimes hard to get a table.
