Recently I upgraded my 4 yr old cell to a droid. This stores staff, as I have discovered, told me many inaccuracies and down right falsehoods to sell me unnecessary accessories. The droid stopped working 30 days into the contract. The store said they would send me a replacement. They did and it was a used rebuilt. Once the "new" phone was activated (it took the staff 38 minutes to do so) it was discovered that it didnt work either. After some serious complaining, they gave me a real new phone. None of the previously purchased accessories fit the new phone. No refund or replacement accessories were offered. And it took another 25 minutes to get the new replacement phone activated. The first employee assisting me spent more time ogling an attractive customer than tending to my account. His glares at the young lady was even noticed by my 11 year old daughter. He broke the face cover of the droid when he removed it with a small screw driver. When I asked for another clerk to help, he refused. I repeated the request and he went and got a store manager. The manager just came and stood near as the exchange proceeded without offering assistance. I learned later that the person who presented herself as the store manager, was NOT the store manager. Now, 30 days later, we have received a $467 charge on my credit card bill for the new phone that was to replace the first faulty product. We have 6 phones on a family plan with them. I have had this account for 17 years with NO late payments EVER, and this is how we are treated.

This is not a review of Verizon Wireless. This is a review of the Verizon Wireless store on Duff Ave. I just wanted to make that fact very clear. The store itself: Clean. Well presented and organized. The employees that I interacted with: MacClain (sorry if I spelled your name wrong), overall hees a pretty decent person to deal with. Nice guy. Tried to up-sell me a bit, as is his job. He didnt get bothered when I said no thanks. He did his best to assist me with my wireless needs. Belinda R, overall she WAS A NUISANCE TO DEAL WITH. I wish I hadnt of been her customer. Tried up-selling me, as to be expected. However, displayed clear anger when I refused to be sold things I did not want. Went on a rant about how I am going to scratch my phone within 3 days and ruin the warranty and be screwed without a screen protector (screen is gorilla glass2, it will be fine.) She wears eight, count em, EIGHT rings while handling my brand new $600 phone. No wonder she got a scratch on hers within 3 days. Store Practices: They basically make you fill out your employee review in front of the employee you are reviewing.

I understand that there is a policy in place but that does not mean you can treat your customer like crap if they dont know it. The other Verizon stores Ive been to apparently have a different policy so excuse me if I thought that it would be the same here. Between the guy who greeted me at the door and the manager who was apparently needed in this conversation...? I couldnt get two words in. I was treated like a five year old who had no idea what I was talking about even though I handle the account info, have been on the phone with a Verizon rep, and went to a Verizon store closer to home. Im disgusted with how insignificant they made me feel and the funny thing is I couldnt even ask for a manager because he was right there acting all high and mighty refusing to help. I wouldnt have an issue but its a snow storm I have a little one and I need a phone because I drive her to school 20 minutes away and I work 40 minutes. Go to Best Buy if you need a phone in Ames, they treat you like a human and you dont have to wait in line.

Second time going in store and second time with issues. We were trying to get our phones set up while juggling two year old twins. The woman helping us was clearly just wanting to get out of the store. At one point, we saw our bag and a receipt etc go into it but when she couldnt do something, she took it to the back and then returned without it. We didnt think anything, it was an emergency appt on our part and the twins were our priority, assuming the store would be taking care of us. Sure enough, we get home and realize, neither boyfriend or I were given the bag. So I have a phone, no charger, none of the paperwork, nothing. This store needs an overhaul as when you go to pick up something ordered online, they never know what you are talking about. Im going to now have to waste my gas to go back and get the stuff as obviously, we need the things that go with the phone and the receipt for our paperwork. Come on Verizon, step it up.

Terrible customer service! Is it this store or Verizon? I dont care either way. The service we received was awful. My wifes phone started having problems with the speaker so we went in to this store to see about getting it fixed or upgrading. I had called ahead and was told she was due for a free upgrade in 12 days. So the client service person checked on phone and said it was beyond their ability to repair. She also told us that our three year contract was nearly over and we would be eligible for a free upgrade in 11 days. "Could we get the upgrade now? No, sorry they could not make any exception at this store. We could get the Edge program and pay more than in one year than the upgrade would cost (and be good for 3 years). Are you kidding? They cant make an exception of 11 days in a contract that lasts 1095 days? How stupid.

Went to the store because I had problems with my new phone, they were very unhelpful and unsympathetic. I had been there a week ago with a faulty battery and at that time, i was not told that I had a time limit for changing my phone. Their only response to this was, "well you should have known already". I called customer care from the store and they took care of everything really well. The manager was rude and unfriendly, and the person who helped me was equally unhelpful. After customer care took care of things, they seemed resentful that anything got solved and basically after that, did not help me at all for anything, I had to call customer care repeatedly myself in front of them to get things done. They DO NOT know how to take care of their customers when there is an issue to resolve. Avoid this store if you can!

I recently switched over to Verizon for their awesome network and coverage. I have had a great experience with Verizon with the exception of this newly built store and a majority of the staff. Travis is a great person to go to and speak with about your phone plan. He is very knowledgeable, polite, and customer-oriented. Unfortunately, I did not meet him until after his manager(blonde, thin girl - too frustrated to catch her name). This manager was on quite the power trip. Disgrace and huge disappointment to the Verizon team. Put this girl and some of her glazed-over workers through customer service training. Be careful, they will try and hide hidden costs from you.... with the exception of Travis of course. Only one I have been in and spoke with that was not worthless.
