What a joke. Ordered a bulk meat package that was not ready by the date promised. Called 4 days after it was supposed to be ready (we were told they would call when it was ready) and was on hold for 5 minutes while they tried to determine if they had our order or not. Finally someone told us that they only had part of our order, they found the ticket, but no longer had all the meat, and didnt know why we hadnt been called . They offered to make substitutions for the items, we told them what we wanted, and they then told us that we could pick it up anytime. We arrived at the Meat Shop 2 hours later and the women at the counter had no idea what we were talking about. We explained again....... We waited for 25 minutes while they fumbled around in the freezer to put together the order that we were told was ready to pick up. While we waited, another customer came in to pick up an order that was also a week late. They left empty handed. At the register they tried to charge us 2 times the price that we were quoted and that is advertised on their fliers. When we questioned the price difference they actually became rude with us. We did the math for them on paper with the prices from their price list. They adjusted the price and told us to "Take our meat and get the hell out of there". We did and wont be back.

Was in the Meat Shop last Thursday, and was ignored the entire time I was there. Attempted to get meat from the female employee, who was in the middle of helping with my requests, but her friend came into the store. They were still engaging in conversation ten minutes later while my friend was checking out. During the wait, I saw a rat run across the front of the meat counter, and that was it. Didnt even wait for her to finish her conversation. I had been there long enough and had seen too much. Really enjoyed going there, buying most of our meat there. I was off to Klauses on the southside-longer drive from the westside, but really paid off. They were bright, cheerful, full of suggestions, and very customer-oriented. They have been around for years-even going back to the days when they were in the city market. Indy Meat Shop has always been one of our stops when it comes to meat, but those days are gone. Clean up the rat poop and get your employees to be more on point when it comes to customers. Ignoring them to long gives them a real feel for what is going on in that shop

Last year I got a 10 point buck took it to them to have it caped and went ahead and had them processed the meat even though Ive always processed mine before every dear Ive ever got Ive processed myself never had one piece of hair ever in any grind that I did. On the other hand they did to 22 pounds of grind for me and every single package has had multiple hairs in it I find that unexcusable. One piece of hair in one package would have been fine but not multiple hairs in every single package I had to throw it all out I cant give it to anybody I cant use it myself. Its dog food. And really how do you call and tell a butcher that he is left hair from your deer in every package of grind theyll just want to argue with you and tell you it didnt happen so its not even worth my time. I would give them no stars if I could.

Went there yesterday and bought a rack of baby backs and a rack of spare ribs, while standing in line I noticed a pot roast in the display case had greenish spots on it (like bad meat) also noticed the same thing on some short ribs in the case! I should have left then but I figured since ribs were wrapped in shrink wrap and looked ok I would ahead with it. Got the baby backs home and unwrapped them and the house was immediately filed with a horrific smell like sewer gas. We took back, the guys told us the meat was gassy but not bad, I did some reading there is such a thing, but Im not talking any chances I have had food poisoning from pork before I not eating anything that smells like that. I went to Sams club theirs never smell like that!!! SO, NO MORE MEAT SHOP FOR ME!

Great selection and taste all for an affordable price! I love the pork ribs, and bacon here. The best Ive ever tasted! The only thing I would change would be to offer choice beef. Thats the only reason I gave 4 stars. Other than that, the food is great!

Good selection of freshly butchered Beef, Pork and Chicken. Well priced cuts from beef fillet to butterflied pork chops. Some frozen stuff too. Most of the fresh beef is SELECT grade.

Was the worst New York Strip steak I have ever had in my entire life. It was so tough we couldnt even chew it. Will never buy from them again

Best porterhouse I have ever ate. Ask them to cut them to 1 1/4 , They are glad to help you.Good prices. Old people get 10% off on thursday.
