I was living on hope. The hope that someday I might be graced with the presents of an apple fritter from the Crescent Donut Shop. Said apple fritter was the standard by which ALL apple fritters are to be measured. I grew up in Bloomington/Ellettsville and left around 2002. The last time I had the joy of eating one of these tasty treats was in the mid-late 90s. I have been living the last 18 or so years on the hope that someday I may be able to eat another. I visited today on the 16th day of July in the 2016th year of our lord and has this hope ripped from my heart. I plead with you the gods of the donut to bring back the fritter. And there werent any grouchy old dudes in there smoking, WTF. I give them 3 stars and not 1 for the fact that the donuts I did get were really good and priced very well....

Wanted to order some donuts ahead of time for a special event. Called in and the guy on the phone had ZERO customer service abilities and quite frankly sounded miserable. The call went a little something like this In a monotone, dont give a damn voice "cresent donut" "Hi I want to schedule an order ahead of time" "Name" "Im sorry?" "NAME" *tell him my name* "Phone" *tell him my number* In a quiet, still monotone miserable voice "pickup" "Im sorry, what?" "PICKUP?!" I just had to hang up. Something as simple as ordering two dozen donuts 7 hours in advance and the guy on the line cant even pretend to enjoy his job or give me the courtesy of complete sentences.

Ok donuts when they have them and the customer service is horrid. If I treated people like this Id be fired so they must be all family members. My last experience was the last for me as I was picking out what I wanted and was asked if I needed a box so I said sure, so after a slim selection of donuts available I stopped at 9 and she was mad because the box was not full. She pounded the corners down on the box lid and said next time dont ask for a box. I had to politely remind her I did not ask but this made it worse as I could see her face turning red. Lesson learned and I will avoid this place from now on!!!

I live in Mooresville, thankfully, because my donut addiction could get way out of hand if I lived closer. I mentioned to my son, that I would like to find a good donut while we were in a store in Bloomington recently, and a local couple mentioned Crescent donuts as being the best in town. We went, and were not disappointed. Their employees werent the friendliest Ive encountered, but they werent soup nazis either! Boy, do they know how to make donuts! The absolute best Ive had anywhere. Ill be back.

This is a no-nonsense local donut shop thats been here for longer than anyone can remember. The prices cant be beat; between evening hours and early morning donuts are half price. The service isnt sugary sweet but they get you out the door fast with delicious donut treats, so no complaints can be had. Note: dont approach the counter with earbuds in or talking on your phone because the staff wont be impressed. Their products cant be beat by any donut store in the area. Ill never go anywhere else.

Great doughnuts. Their yeast doughnuts are light, fluffy and almost melt in your mouth (literally). Their customer service is somewhat different however. They sometimes seem to be cranky with the effort to serve the tasty treats. This has improved in recent months; but its still a running joke among my friends how terrible you are treated here. If you know the Seinfeld "soup nazi" that will give you an idea of what happens.

Seriously, its not rude as much as keeping things moving! I like that those guys because if someone is sitting there trying to pick a donut like its a life changing decision, he hurries them along! They usually joke around with you if you actually are friendly instead of expecting a jerk...I have come in this place so many times at all hours of the day, never coming out unsatisfied (and sometimes with some FAT hookups).

As I brought the perfectly moist and tender fried dough coated with a supreme glaze of profound excellence, I entered a relm of pure Bliss. I had found what I had been searching for, the meaning of existence. The glazed perfection they call a "donut". The man at the counter was the upmost example of a hard working, honest man, that seemed to be able to calculate all prices with exact preciseness. All and all 5/5 stars

Very dissapointed!! Went with the family from Martinsville, only to find very rude staff, cold doughnuts, and is that even coffee?? Looks like a light tea. When I asked, she simply replied "im sure its fine". Then walked over and said "ya its just fine". Its clearly a light beige water lol. The other lady working even agreed it was no good..... seriously, they do coffee and donuts. ... and failing at that even.

Ive seen some bad reviews on this place, but even after seeing them, we checked this place out. Those who say these people are rude : you have no sense of humor! These guys are funny and always offering great deals on their donuts, we have been back MANY times and have NEVER been disappointed!! If you love donuts, no matter what time of the day, this is the place to go. I send everyone I know here.

This place is crazy. Every time I go there they have approximately 2 kinds of donuts(only the nasty ones). Sometimes they are rude, but not always. I finally decide to go at a different time, and there is a sign that says out of donuts. Closed. The sad thing is that on the rare chance you can get one of their donuts, they are actually pretty good. They just run a terrible business.

These donuts are delicious! They are soft, and evenly glazed, and baked fresh all hours of the day! And yes, the service may seem less than friendly, but this adds to the whole just-off-the-highway, open 24 hours, townie ambience ... right? In all seriousness, in a college-town of comformist chains (Dunkin) and the unnecessarily contrived (Square Donuts), Crescent is King.

They draw you in with the half price donuts after 10pm. This is the 3rd time Ive bought donuts after 10pm and didnt get them for half price because they were "fresh". They were stale and We ended up throwing them away! Im really disappointed, used to love this place. Last time Ill go in the evening and last time Ill buy a bag or box full :(

I go to Cresent Donuts even though it is miles out of my way and I have never been disappointed. The Donuts are great, my favorite is the Cream Horns. They remodeled recently and now there is no where to sit which took away some the homey feel that I grew up with but they still make the best donuts. Wish they would add cookies and cakes.

Thankfully our donut buying experience wasnt complicated by poor customer service. It was pretty good. The sour cream donut was the best with the yeast donut a middling ok. Nothing earth shattering. Nice place. They spell crescent wrong though

The donuts are the best in town. The yeast ones are made to almost dissolve in your mouth. Get more than you need... You will thank me. Also, about the service - sometimes its terrible sometimes its excellent. Dont let it discourage you.
