I have been purchasing and consuming baked goods from Riverside Bake Shop for over 25 years. Their cakes will beat any other cake you can purchase hands down. The frosting is perfectly smooth and creamy without being too sweet and the cake is always fluffy and moist. They also have excellent breads, donuts, cinnamon rolls, and cookies. As much as I have tried since moving to Chicago from McHenry County, I have not found a better bakery. Whenever I get the chance to return to the Northwest Suburbs I always look forward to eating the delicious items that this bakery produces. If you stop into Riverside and purchase some of their baked goods, I am certain that you will return for more.

When youve been wandering around for hours in the early morning, nothing hits the spot and starts the day like a donut. My friends and I walked into Riverside a few days ago at about 4:35 and while understandably the girl taking our order was a bit drab, she was talkative and patient; definitely a surprise that early in the morning. Delicious donuts, great Swedish Flop, and smiley cookies. The best.

Pastries are amazing and the price point is perfect. Staff is very friendly as well. The only reason Im giving it four stars is that it is cash only. Seems odd that they are not able to take any sort of card.

Delicious baked goods I go there often for smiley face cookies it reminds me of when I was younger and by the time Im done no matter how bad my day was my face matches the cookie.

Im 15, but my parents were in town (I live in Wisconsin) so they decided to get some donuts. My family and I are in love with the custard donuts! The amount of custard is perfect!
