I stopped by The Wormhole on the recommendation of several friends. I was visiting from out of town and was told that this establishment catered to my particular flavor of geekdom. As soon as I entered the building, I understood why: there is a giant Back to the Future style DeLorean inside! Considering I have a complete 1985 Marty McFly costume in the closet at home, I felt like I had found long-lost family. Additionally, the walls are adorned with all manner of 1980s nostalgia, much of it original to the time. I didnt mind waiting in line to order my coffee, as it gave me time to take in the atmosphere. I wondered if the coffee itself would live up to the level of detail and care that the owners afforded their interior decor. Happily, I was just as pleased with my coffee. Im a simple guy: I ordered a drip coffee and drank it black. The flavor was superb. Additionally, the barista didnt hassle me about my drink or try to get me to order something more complicated; he was genuinely happy to provide me with my simple order. I also ordered a chooclate muffin, which was delicious. My girlfriend ordered a hot chocolate & croissant and enjoyed them as much as I did mine. Friendly staff, quality coffee, amazing atmosphere. I cant imagine ever visiting Chicago again without stopping in AT LEAST once.

If you understand the jokes on Family Guy, you’ll love this place because it’s an 80s paradise, that also serves great coffee and treats. The obvious focal point here in the Delorean, but this place has everything you remember from your childhood including lunch boxes and thermoses, console video games and even 5 1/4 floppy drives. Everything here is a tribute to that awkward decade. Ok it was awkward for me because I was a teenager. The drinks all have names reminiscent of 80s kitsch but like others say the Peanut Butter Koopa Troopa is the bomb! If it were just atmosphere it would be great but the inclusion of great coffee drinks and methods (pour over, Chemex) makes it totally tubular. Service was great and despite a long line, drinks came out quick I pulled out my laptop and worked for hours. It’s really comfy here with large chairs, benches and tables. Stay a while and enjoy yourself. My only complain: no Jolt cola. That would be awesome if they could reproduce that because that really helped me get through the 80s. It gives you 88 gigawatts of caffeine power Step back to a time when any problem could be solved in 30 minutes by an all-knowing dad.

Ive been coming to WormHole Coffee for well over 5 years and I love the shop. Plenty of places to sit with numerous electrical outlets for computer users. The decor is fantastic, with different 80s movies posters and plenty of old-school video games to play on a wood panel television in front of the couches. The selection of drinks on the menu is unbelievably diverse. My favorite is the Peanut Butter Koopa Troopa, but today I tested out the iced Cool But Rude Latte (with Ginger and Curry flavors). Its fantastic, proving once again that the team at WormHole is on point with their new mixes. I highly recommend giving it a try! WormHole accepts credit cards and they also have plenty of pastries from Fritz Pastry, most of which are vegan and delicious! Seating outside during the Summer on the front sidewalk. Get some HalfWit Roasters beans while youre there. Nice work, Travis and team!

What a great place to do all of my favorite things - catch up with friends, people watch, get some work done (maybe I dont enjoy this so much), and sip on some delicious coffee. Wormhole is by far my favorite coffee shop in Chicago. Their drinks are delicious and their Wormhole speciality drinks are so creative and definitely for those who dont enjoy the taste of coffee so much. However, If Im at a coffee shop, Im going to do it right - I usually order their cappuccino or their mocha and both are yummy in my tummy. They brew Halfwit Coffee so the drinks always hit the spot. Also, accompany your coffee with a pastry as they sell Fritz pastries as well! The chocolate chip cookie with pretzels is my favorite! FYI the password for the wifi is listed on makeshift paper floppy disks on the front counter!

Awesome atmosphere, reasonable pricing. It is sometimes difficult (or impossible) to find seating, although this is only evidence of Wormholes popularity. One thing that has kind of always bothered me is that I have never found the service exceptional, nor the staff to be super friendly. Im fairly certain that half of this is my fault for not dressing edgy enough. Used to be open til midnight, but now only open til 11p which was kind of disappointing to learn, but that is still later than most places. I have also found that every time I call to see if there is much seating available, I can never get through, which can be annoying- but is also understandable (maybe they are always busy?). Despite my few qualms, I love Wormhole, will continue to visit, and would recommend it overall.

This is the kinda place you just dont find out in the burbs. A cool coffee shop made just for geeks. Right when I walked in the door I saw an old Apple II computer sitting near the wall and thought "Oh my god yes!" And that was before I saw the Back to the Future DeLorean replica! Coffee is good, too. I had the "Bowser" (or maybe the "King Koopa"? Crap, I cant remember for sure) which was a chocolate peanut butter coffee. It was a bit pricey but I absolutely loved it despite only being an occasional coffee drinker. Didnt even need to add milk or sugar like I usually do! Also, they served it at just the right temperature where it was warm and pleasant to drink but not mouth-scaldingly hot. Crowded, but cozy. An essential destination for nerds in Wicker Park!

Solid space as far as decor goes, nice throwback to the 80s. Delorean/Delorean replica hangs over the back wall. Old school tube TV in the back area where you can play Super Nintendo video games. Ive never had any troubles and every employee has always been super friendly and engaging. If youre having trouble deciding/figuring out your way, just ask for a recommendation. The honey bear latte is my favorite and a good go to unless you want just black coffee. They brew half wit but I dont drink much coffee just straight black so I couldnt touch on that. Go in and see for yourself? Looking for the WiFi password? Hunt down the floppy disks which are usually near the drink hand off point at the espresso bar, the wifi password printed on them.

This place has wonderful coffee and even better vibes. I recommend going here rather than the near at hand Filter - which is too big to invite much conversation. Wormhole is a wonderful place to meet strangers. 80% of the times I have gone there, I met someone new, reguarless of weather or not I am with company. Its like "Hey ill meet you in the black hole!" and the should be acquaintances are provided. Know what I mean? :0 They also have a video game quarter, with couches around an old tv and much cozy invitingness for you and your friend. The best thing about Wormhole is that they stay open later than any other cafe! yay! If they served organic healthy food there would be just no where else better.
