Poor gear repair system, to say the least. If you ever need gear repaired, save yourself the time and trouble and take it to REI. I dropped off a jacket three weeks ago, just a small tear in the arm (needed seam glue only-chose to get it done perfessionally). I dropped it off 3 weeks ago, the guy was nice enough said it would take up to two weeks and that they would call when it came back, which wouldnt be a problem. I left a clear note to the repair person on what I wanted and it was only after a very frustrating phone call that she understood I only wanted glue, no stiching or patching and even told her specifically what glue would work. After we got everything resolved I expected a phone call this coming up week notifying me it was in. 3 weeks later I had to call myself and ask if it was in yet. The girl who spoke said she was not able to find it, it was only after looking again she said she found it because I told her it had to be there its been three weeks and the repair person told me she was going to be out of town for the upcoming three weeks. Absolutely poor service and tra king system. When I asked why I didnt get called like I was informed she said they dont have that policy, because calling people when their object came back was "too much work" and I needed to be more vigilant in calling. Rude service and unreasonably lengthly time in repairing a jacket.

Outdoor Exchange is awesome! They provide excellent customer service and are incredibly supportive of the community. They also provide fantastic educational opportunities! I am not the most outdoorsy person and thus can be really intimidated when I go to outdoor gear stores. NEVER ONCE have they made me feel less than. I am always greeted with a smile and am made to feel like the most important customer to enter the store. Well done Outdoor Exchange! They were also voted #1 Best Local Outdoor Gear Store from Boises local alternative news publication, Boise Weekly.

Great bunch of employees who are doing great for the community to help make it affordable for people who want to explore and have fun on a budget! The owner Tracy is a perfect example of a small business owner who will go above and beyond for each and every customer! The experience at the shop is welcoming to all types of people whether your an experianced adventurer or just beginning, everyone is welcome! Great place and highly recommend for you outdoor gear shopping or consignment !

Great selection and great gear!! I dropped off my items for sale and I got over $300!!!! I was super stoked. I cleaned out my gear closet and took items for sale and also used the gear repair service for a torn jacket. I used part of my money to buy a pair of skis I found in the shop. Everything was super easy and convenient. HIGHLY recommend for all you other gear heads that have tons of items just sitting in the closet or are looking for that next piece of gear.

Sporting goods equipment is generally so expensive that its difficult to pull the trigger on a new item but stores like this make it much easier to get that item youve been wanting in your pack! I found a kayaking paddle jacket and pants for a grea deal!
