My experience with the Publix pharmacy staff at this particular store was a very unpleasant one today. I would expect any pharmacy staff to know what a "medicated douche" is and if it is carried by the store. When I didnt find one on the store shelves, I asked the 2 male pharmacy staff if they carried it behind the counter. They gave me the response that if it werent on the shelf, that they didnt have it. Neither offered to help me look for it. They werent necessarily rude with their words, simply unhelpful, avoidant, and seemingly ignorant of the product. Because of their dismissive responses to my questions and the personal nature of the product, I felt very uncomfortable further explaining what it was or asking them for any other help, despite my need of pharmacy assistance. I was angry and embarrassed after the incident, had left my cart of other items in the aisle, and was on my way out of the store. The store manager happened to be in my path on the way out and cheerfully asked how I was. I responded with an "As a matter of fact..." and briefly described the nature of my upset. He promptly enlisted the help of the female produce manager and she involved another female staff who worked in this area of the store. They were extremely helpful even though the store did not carry the product. I appreciate the concern and discretion of the store manager. And the assistance of the 2 female Publix staffers who essentially did the pharmacy staffs job helping me look for this over-the-counter medical product. Although I may grocery shop at Publix, I will take my pharmacy business where the pharmacy staff is more experienced and professional. Update: I sent my concern to Publix. It has taken almost 6 days for them to acknowledge receipt via an email response stating that my concern will be forwarded to the appropriate department. I now understand why the Publix pharmacy staff also feel the customers concerns, questions, and issues are low priority. If the department designated to address customer issues takes a week to respond, then this is a pervasive issue at Publix. I will go out of my way to find a Kroger for my grocery and pharmacy needs.

I absolutely love EVERYONE that works in the pharmacy!! They really care about their customers and truly want you to get better. I recently had a major surgery and was worried infection set in. The pharmacist told me to go the ER after looking at wound. She was ABSOLUTELY correct, I needed to be in ER, the antibiotic called in for me wasnt going to work alone!!!
