I live so close to this Big Lots and had been there in the past but not as much as I have the last few months and would love to frequent it. There is a man who works there who may have changed my mind. I dont know if he has a bad day most days or if he doesnt like his job. Most of the employees are cordial, friendly, and polite. However last week I went to the register that was opened at customer service, wasnt spoken to by the man that I saw for the first time, although I did speak to him. I used my card to pay for my purchases and when it was declined he was rude and brushed me off. I asked him would there be a reason it was declined. He started speaking to the lady behind me that looked like him and he asked her how she was and how her day was. He continued to assist her and talk to her. He never acknowledged my presence or even took concern over my card. When calling the card company when outside, I found out that the card had been used at a store where the database was stolen and so they had to remove the account to protect me from fraud. I came in to let the man know what the error was but he wasnt in the front working anymore. There was a lady who I relayed that the decline error code pertains to stolen credit cards in case it assists them in the future. She said she would relay the info the man who took my orders. I described him and the register he was working. He came back when I came back into the store after getting another card activated. He didnt care or acknowledge me once again. The employee who I had relayed the info said she would let him know. He barked at her and said I know although he hadnt been given any information yet. When taking the policemans (who was 2 people in front of me) purchases and ringing them up, I saw that he was ignoring him also. He must have been having a bad day. However he was the most unpleasant person I have met with his position in a long time. It really puts a damper on customers days when you come into a store and run into unhappy, openly miserable, rude, arrogant people. Hopefully someone will say something to him. Everyone looked afraid of him and he was the one that looked like he didnt want to be there. I think the owner needs to know everybody is a representation of the store. It was a very disappointing experience and one I hope doesnt get repeated if I choose to go there again in the future.

Big lots is a great store. This location has terrible employees. I call asking for a gazebo that was sold out at all the other locations, I was told they had the display available. I told them Ill buy it and Im on my way. I get there and am told the display had already been sold the day before. I drove over an hour to get there and then an hour beck for no reason. I received an apology, saying sorry the employee was misinformed. The end, thats bad management and lazy employees.
