Pretty much the same as any other Starbucks, the main advantage being its one of like 3 places in all of Sarasota that is open 24 hours instead of closing at like, 9 pm. Also you get a free refill! Yay for that. Of course, this means that it gets super busy in the evening and finding seats is difficult, but that isnt really my beef with the place. I can deal with it being busy. The staff. The entire freaking staff, as far as I have seen, is extremely inattentive. You can stand at the register for a good five minutes, even in plain sight, before anyone behind gives you the time of day. And even if they do, chances are they will forget half of your order. This is not a one time deal, I am a fairly regular visitor and it happens to me darn near every time. I agree with the review below that Frank is not a pleasant person to deal with. He always seems gruff and irritated with customers and his employees (many of whom, I can tell, also arent too fond of him.) I even saw him reprimand a barista for not answering the phone because she was taking my order at the register. As someone who has worked at several coffee shops in the past (none of the Starbucks,) it seems like common sense that you DONT abandon a customer at the register because the phone is ringing. I dont care if hes supposedly a "great guy"--maybe once you get to know him. Otherwise he is completely off-putting. Also, I have had similar problems with people sweeping extremely close to me. Basically, the service here is crap. Unfortunately, Ill probably keep going here because its just about the only place other than Ihop or Wal-Mart to hang out after midnight. :P

PROS: 24 hour joint. gives free refills. barista is friendly. CONS: My starbucks experience is always somehow ruined by the bald manager guy. Of all of the places to clean, the manager guy just came right up to my sitting area and started to sweep around me. That would have been just fine, except that he started to sweep on on top of my foot! I didnt make a big deal of it, and I just sat Indian style for him to finish. After a couple of months, I headed back to the same place. I ordered a drink and sat in my chair, working. The same manager guy started to sweep around me. This time, I kindly asked if he wanted me to move. He said that it was fine and that hell just work around me. Well, he swept the floor right in front of me. All of this would have been fine, except I had my bag and other belongings on that floor. He just swept right over it. When I was ready to leave, I was thinking about leaving a dollar bill next to my cup. I then overheard the manager complaining about how he never gets any TIPS, and how hed love to get some TIPS, and how people nowadays just dont TIP. Well, that just turned me off. SUMMARY: I decided to write this review after the tip rant because that just tipped me over the edge. I also wanted to take this opportunity to write a good review about the Starbucks place on Tamiami Trail, because the employee over there really did deserve that tip.

Just to clarify. For the review under mine The bald manager guys name is FRANK. I work with frank and i know he is a good guy...As a store we apologize if he offended you by sweeping close to you or complaining about people not tipping. Frank loves his job and likes to create a environment for customers to feel welcome. Hes known by many and has kept a great experience going for a lot of people. Frank is an exceptional worker, a great father, and a genuine person...and i can assure you the next time you come in Frank will make your Starbucks experience memorable. The Starbucks on University and Tuttle would like to invite anyone and everyone out to have a great coffee experience.

I dont really understand all the bad reviews, I love this place. Its great to come here and see the diversity people working studying and of course enjoying their coffee drink. Ill admit I dont come here to hangout, but work near here and love to come by and pick up a coffee. Ive never had a bad experience with the employees. Sure, sometimes they get busy, but thats just the way it is. I love the enviroment Starbucks provides.

I visit this place a lot on my way to work. Busy location, lots of students during session. A lot of outdoor seating, which is nice when its not hot. This place is open 24/7 - also great. Not a big fan of their plain coffee (too strong),but then there are always lattes.

I visit this place a lot. I love to ride my bike there to grab a mocha and do some people watching. There is a wonderful mix of people -- young college students, business types and retirees. The staff has always been friendly to me.

Barista, Nicole is fantastic! Shes not only super sweet and efficient, she remembers my unique food and beverage order every time! Im very impressed by the personalized customer service at this location.

I study here all the time. I love the baristas that work here as they are always super nice and make grade recommendations on new products. I come here at least twice a week to get in a good study sesh.

Are drinks were barely filled, my mom got a tall and it literally was barely half full. For the amount of money you pay for one drink thats pathetic! Waste of money and the drink doesnt even taste good

Pike is Starbucks coffee of the day, but this place never seems to have any made, stop trying. Now we visit the Starbucks in the Target store. Where the pike is always hot and the service is great.

Took forever to get my drink from the drive through just to have a giant cold undissolved glob of honey in the bottom because they couldnt even be bothered to heat the honey up...

Coffee and food were the same as every other Starbucks, just the staff wasnt very friendly. May have just been a bad day. =/

For hot water filtered over beans i think expensive but the coffee wad good and the staff and service were upbeat.

Its Starbucks. Pretty much the same from place to place. Friendly staff and hot coffee.
