Havent tried my donuts yet however I was extremely disappointed when I walked in and not one person looked at me and said "good morning we will be right with you!" They all just finished what they were doing and then proceeded to awknowlage the fact that someone walked in the front door. I was literally the ONLY person in the store. Its not hard to glance up and say "be right with you!" Then I ordered my donuts and one kolache..... well I couldnt have it because at almost 8AM they hadnt even made any? WHAT! Extremely disappointed because thats the only real reason I come into southern maid. (As the daughter of the former..former owner of southern maid I recall my dad leaving at 3-4 am to get to the shop and start the donuts and kolaches to be ready when he opened the doors. I know what it takes to have a donut shop ready for customers in the morning) There were plenty of people on staff and you can see right into the kitchen there were at least 3 or 4 people back there. In the other had the girl that did help me this morning was GREAT she was extremely friendly and overal made the rest of my experience O.K. Hopefully the taste of the donuts make up for the absents of kolaches this morning.

Their Glazed Cake doughnuts are honestly fantastic (my whole family loves them)... the other doughnuts are only ok (my opinion). That being said, the last two weeks Ive gone in on Sunday mornings (9:30am) and theyve been out of literally almost everything. I asked if they were making any more because I was willing to wait and the response was a simple "no". Business 101 says if youre running out of a specific product a quarter of the way through the work day... you should probably start to produce more to begin with. ESPECIALLY on a weekend! Turning business away is NEVER a good idea! I personally love and prefer to give my money to small businesses... but with Dunkin about to open their new location down the street its kind of a no brainer!

Havent been in a while, surprised the kids with donuts and I wasnt too pleased. Picked them up at 8:30am Thursday morning. Got a mixed dozen with sprinkles, tiny apple fritter, 2 Bavarian creme long johns and a polish sausage kolache and my bottle of Dr. Pepper all for $21.66 with my military discount. First off the donuts were a golden brown and hard to the touch & bite. The Bavarian creme long johns only had half filled with creme. The polish sausage kolache was hard to eat by hand, the sausage is the big links and hard to bite thru. The glazed donuts werent soft and airy like they used to be when in Falcon. I hope our next trip will be more pleasing.

Sadly this donut shop is not very good, considering its next to the best Chicken Wing spot in Colorado Springs. They really need to step their game up. Their donuts have a nasty after taste and they arent like any donuts from the South Ive ever had. They need to go taste what a real donut from the South taste like, Round Rock Donuts. For donuts in Colorado Springs go to Daylight Donuts they will not do you wrong. Also they do not serve Kolaches like you would find in the South. Kolaches come in three distinct options. Like the traditional pigs in a blanket, they come as with or without cheese and/or jalapeno.

Why you so grumpy Southern Maid?! We like Southern Maid. Their donuts are great and typically you dont have to wait long to place your order (like you will at another nearby donut shop:-) But I have to know, why is the staff at SM usually so unfriendly? Theyre not mean...just not pleasant. There is no greeting when you come in (the entrance is directly in front of the counter), taking the order is very matter-of-fact and checking out is a matter of transaction and on to the next person. The donuts are really good and the place is always clean, but I just gotta know, why are you so grumpy?!

I went in to get a biscuits and gravy and an OJ....the OJ was warm in front and cold in back....obviously not rotating stock. So how old is the OJ in the back of the cooler? I sat in and ate and had to wipe off the table where I was sitting. from what I could see, all of the table were encrusted with sugar frosting and not wiped thoroughly. Very sticky. While I was eating a lady came out and wiped the front table off, and after she left, I still could see crusty stuff on the table. Maybe they should use something tougher to get the crud off. It was a turn off to eat there.

About 3 minutes from home now so it beats the drive and crowds of Amys. Had fresh doughnuts coming out as we came in and there wasnt a line. Coffee was fresh and service was fast. The doughnuts were delicious and hit the spot. I think next time Id like to try another other of their breakfast options. A dozen doughnuts, one being a Long John, medium coffee, and bottle of water for $13.

Excellent donuts made every morning in house. To my surprise, this DOES make a difference. I have been a Dunkin Donuts fan for quite some time, but I will be visiting Southern Maid more often. (DD has theirs trucked in every morning adding hours to their food products) Thanks for delivering such yummy breakfast items, guys! Keep up the great work!

The cake doughnuts were pretty good. The other doughnuts were a bit dense. They also didnt have much of a selection when I went at 7 AM. I was told their doughnut maker came in a bit late so Ill try again another day. People get a 5 for great service and being friendly. Doughnuts get a 2.5. 3 for tiny home in the wall shop ambience.

I am from Shreveport Louisiana which is where this awesome creation of this sweet yummy donut originated. The owner is from Shreveport Louisiana and has brought this delicious donut here for all of Colorado Springs and beyond to try. Honestly the best donuts you will ever put into your mouth come try one today or anyday.

Take a good doughnut. Dry it out, take off a lot of frosting, and voilà you get a Southern Maid Doughnut. Youre better off going to King Soopers (the grocery store nearby).... Thankfully Dunkin Doughnuts opens soon. Also, I am pretty sure the doughnut they gave me was from yesterday. Lame.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Worst donuts ever! Dry, stale, just plain gross. Ive never had my favorite donut, white icing sprinkled, taste soooooo bad ever in my life. Glazed tastes like cardboard, with the texture to match. Stay away unless you want to pay way alot for garbage.

The nicest people work here and the donuts are amazing too! Their frosting on their glazed donuts rivals krispy kreme. Very friendly atmosphere, definitely reminded me of some good ol southern hospitality. We will definitely be making many return visits! Thank yall so much!

People, take your money elsewhere!! They advertise " melt in your mouth donuts" but you get the exact opposite. My donuts were soooo dry & tasted stale. I looked over at my friend and proceeded to bang the donuts on the table ( and they sounded like a hammer

Went through the drive thru and was told I would be helped shortly. 30 minutes later, I was sick of waiting and just left. This is the third time Ive gone to southern maid and Ive had to wait at least 15-20 minutes each of the previous times.
