DO NOT be fooled by the name. A lot of libation lovers like myself often shy away from places that are too much wine and not enough of the good old fashioned hootch and beer selection. You dont have to be a vintner, beer snob or even a drunk to feel at home here. I partake in all forms, but a place like this is hard to classify. On the go I often look for liquor stores when Im running late for a party, but always have the safe and consistent variety of a Bevmo. I do go to Bevmo a lot and you can find deals and steals, but wow TWM or Total Wine or even Total (yeah were on an acronym/1st and/or 2nd name basis already) has surpassed my expectations of what a drink symposium should be. Bevmo Ill still go to you out of convenience, but your dead to me. Total Wine has a larger selection of all levels of wine and my favorite scotch and almost every other libation and their prices are better. In a Costco sized warehouse their staff is excellent in helping you find what you need without the snobbery of a specialized place. Its really the adults version of toys r us. Great selection of Sake and Soju along with Japanese whiskey (next big thing). Their selection of craft beers doesnt quite ratio out with their other offerings, but that game is hard to dominate considering the locality of the beer scene. Its hard not to spent Costco amounts of money here considering the prices and the selection. Youll be the talk of the town if you stock your party here or youll just be the talk of the town for drinking too much, but all can be had at this special Mecca.

This post is from an experience I had almost a year ago but just now realized today. I drove around everywhere looking for Carmel Road Drews blend for my wife as a mothers day gift. Finally I get to Total Wine and I ask for the bottle, I was too tired to look for it myself. The guy that "helped" me took me to it, Carmel Road and said here it is. I told him it didnt look like the one on the website, it actually says Drews blend, then with a snobby attitude he said "thats it" and walked away. I wasnt 100% convinced and thought he was a dick but I was too tired to complain, I just grabbed 4 bottles, paid and left. So i felt accomplished, got my wife what she wanted. So since then Ive been getting her bottles of Carmel Road pinot noir and today for the first time I realize that its not the same thing, there are bottles that are actually Drews Blend. Of course this bottle she bought herself so for almost a year now Ive been getting her the wrong bottle, I guess she just didnt have the heart to tell me. Although it might be the same or similar, if someone was giving me Jack instead of Jim Id be pissed. 3 stars for poor customer service with an attitude.

Total Wine and More is a nice, somewhat up-scale store with a large, extensive selection of wine, beer, and spirits for all of your entertaining needs. Very clean and well stocked. If you cant find what youre looking for here then, it probably doesnt exist or you dont need it. Just make another choice. There are plenty to choose from. Many of the prices are good, but some can be a little high, so shop carefully. I would give this store 5 stars except that it is located in the Tustin Marketplace, which is a huge, sprawling mess with parking in the center and the stores surrounding it on the outside. The best way to get there is to exit the 5 freeway at Jamboree and turn left at El Camino Real. Total Wine will be on the left near the Home Depot. This way you can avoid the driving through the opposite side parking lot. With major streets running through it with many pedestrians and cars pulling out right in front of you. This is a nerve-wracking and possibly dangerous experience that you dont need. This area is extremely busy everyday so, use caution in the parking lot and when exiting on the major streets.

I was just searching for the Total Wine website to check on some Bourbon prices when I saw how poorly reviewed it was. Im typically more of a whiskey/spirit drinker than a wine drinker, so perhaps that explains my differing opinion. The main things that keep me going back are their very large selection and their prices. The only place that ever beats their prices is Costco and even then its not by much (and Costcos selection is very small and consists of mostly handles). I recently got a 750 ml bottle of Buffalo Trace for $20, while the same bottle is $24 at Bevmo ($22 on sale with a club card). Thats an excellent price for an excellent Bourbon. Furthermore, Ive found the staff to be very helpful. One staff member spent 10-15 minutes with me helping me decide on which Bourbon to get. She was very helpful and seemed to know a lot about the different Bourbons they had available, including making suggestions on what Bourbons I might like based on what I usually like. You also dont need too carry a club card with you in order to get the best prices.

Total Wine & More is stocked with an extensive list of wine and beer. I came in recently over the weekend, looking to buy a variety of wines for a get-together next week and of course some just for me. I came in looking for some specific bottles but also looking for some suggestions on new types of wine, I have tried yet. As I was perusing the Pinot section, Hugo greeted me and asked if I needed any assistance. Hugo was awesome, making suggestions and providing opinions on his favorite wines. I ended choosing 5/6 he suggested. Trusting his word, but I feel confident enough I will enjoy them all. I personally enjoy the setup of the store. It makes searching for a wine very easy for customers to find their favorites wines and beers. Also there was beer tasting available if u had a few bucks. The lines move rather quickly, so youre not stuck all day trying to check out. This is my go to place for purchasing a fine bottle of wine.

Worst experience of my life, My colleagues and I were trying to find this new double IPA they just released from Stone Brewery, but unfortunately the girl were were with had an expired I.d But was 34 and said it clearly on her I.d. and both of us were also over the age o 35 so we felt mistreated to the extreme. they was a short African american manger with glasses that did not use his digression properly and the fact that we left and came back into purchase the alcohol and he put his own time limit on it was a bit childish, i got a little upset with the way they handled the situation and wasted our lunchtime and then they started getting aggressive. I felt the best thing to do was leave. I cant believe what happened today at this location, very poor management.

In these times when every penny counts i thought to myself i will forgo Bevmo (my usual place to get my drinking materials) and go to total wine..well yes the prices are good...but the only people who know anything about wine are specific desginated people and the two people they had on duty that day had a line of people waiting for them. I waited 35 minutes to be addressed by one of the them to have a question answered. At least if i had gone to BEVMO! i could have found someone right away. Shopping at Total wine is like shopping at Sams Club or CostCo. yeah you pay less but you get horrible service.
