Odd, Confusing and weird. These are the words I would use to describe "Psycho Donuts" and I mean it all in a great way. I heard about them from a friend of a friend, I saw the Jason Doughnut and knew I had to try it, We went late one Saturday night walking in was an experience, It like Grunge and horror and all kinds of odd hit the wall and just landed in place, the attendants, all women were in nurses uniforms and stood behind the counter, and they handed out bubble wrap while you waited. I looked over the glass case and knew in my head what I wanted having reviewed the menu online but didnt see most of those out that night. My friend began ordering so I stood behind him, one attendant asked me what I would like to order, so I began what started as one or two donuts became two dozen, I pretty much wanted one of everything. She started to rush me and my girlfriend alerting us that a crowd was about to come out (they hold shows I believe), I just being understanding rushed through and uneasy just grabbed whatever, Looking behind me and realizing there was a crowd 40 or 50 deep waiting behind me, so I understood, not happy but understood. I paid, not sure didnt worry about it either. I got home and had my Vorhees or Jason, whatever it was called and loved it more for what it was rather than how it tasted, a chocolate donuts with white powder on top to make a mask and once bit in raspberry filling for blood, AWESOME. I figured Id wait until morning to eat the others, BAD IDEA, they didnt last. I still eat them, most being still pretty excellent but I wish I wouldve just eat the rest all in one sitting. I to this day still plan on visiting any chance I get, its hands down one of my favorite experiences in a while and even though the service kinda sucked and the donuts didnt last, I recommend it easily to anyone with a chance to try it.

I could eat donuts all day long. No, seriously. I dont seem to have normal cut-off points for sweetness. Basically, every morning I wake up and crave a donut. While staying at a hotel in downtown San Jose for work, I woke up on Valentines morning craving a donut. Bleary-eyed, I typed "donut" into yelp and discovered Psycho Donuts was a block away. Jumping out of bed, I sleepy-hobbley ran over and was greeted by a very sweet voice. A woman with significant dreadlocks asked me if I needed anything explained. While asking about a couple of a fresh donut flavors, she handed me bubble wrap to pop in case I was "frustrated about Valentines". I chose an old fashioned and a glaze with a soy latte. All were cheap and amazing. The spirit of this place is fantastic because the service and options are so good. Every one in there was happy. I would be happy too, if this place was close to where I live. Happy... and weighing about 200 pounds more than I do now. But, definitely happy.

I came here around 10 PM on a Saturday, bad choice. They were almost completely out of donuts. They only had a Feng Shui donut left. There was good reason why it was the only one left, it was gross. I also tried the part of the donut that didnt have green tea on it and I was again disappointed. It tasted like they use cheap ingredients. I may come back again and try one of their not least popular donuts, but Im not expecting anything great. Ill believe that they have interesting donut flavors, but interesting doesnt mean great.

I visited Psycho Donuts while attending a conference in the area. The donuts are delicious (or, at least, the one that I had was), and theres plenty of space to sit down and enjoy them. One rather curious detail of Psycho Donuts is the small art gallery located on the wall opposite the door. Upon closer examination, I found that each of the displayed paintings had a price tag. While I did not purchase any of the artwork on display, it was entertaining to imagine being the sort of person who would.

Unique, cute, fun atmosphere and donuts. Theres a booth that you can use to put on a white coat which my boyfriend put on and you can use little props too. Also a section to buy gross or scary candy and psycho donut souvenir shirts and such. Its a small hole in the wall type place but those are my fave. You can sit at a little bar with stools and look out the window and watch your car, lol

Cant say Im much of a donut connoisseur but the donuts here are flavorful and VERY creative. The employees are fun and the theme really stands out. I highly recommend checking out their selection because there is something for everyone and whole shop is very unique. Also, they have an unusual selection of "rare" sodas and other drinks which a cool perk. Definitely check it out!

Stopped in for a donut at around 10:00 a.m. but they were almost out of everything. The lady working did say they had an unusually busy morning and so, thats fine. I got to choose between 3 different kinds of donuts and so that stunk. However, the donut I did have was very good. The lady working there was very nice. Just wish I would have been able to have more to choose from.

Psycho Donuts is one of my favorite places. In a nook on a corner of a forgotten street in San Jose, these guys serve up delicious and creative concoctions and even have beer and wine (at a donut shop!). They are always super friendly and also partake in local charity events.

The donuts are good, but I always seem to show up late and they are either way low on options or completely out. I imagine that if I could show up at a reasonable time, it would be 5 stars. But since I always only have like 3 options to choose from, I gotta knock one off.

Not bad. I think our issue user went in expecting the quality of VooDoo Donuts. Our donuts were fine, but nothing extraordinary. The naming convention of the donuts is great.. Thumbs up for that. I also loved the bubble wrap they give you just because.

I would NEVER recommend this place. The staff was nice, but the selection was not all that great and the donuts were NASTY and old. It was such a waste of calories. Even the coffee was nasty and they didnt have creamer. Never again

If youre looking for traditional donuts, this is not the place. If youre looking for something different, you should definitely give Psycho a try. Some combinations are misses, but lots are hits. And they have vegan donuts!

The place is awesome, the theme is super cool, but when we went there they had a shortage of donuts and flavors. Maybe that was just a one time thing though. The donuts we did get were really good. I liked the dirty turtle.

Great donuts that are actually getting better as they make new recipes, made with a variety of fun themes - and they support local artists. Not for people without a sweet tooth or with a broken sense of humor.
