These people lied to me when I selected samples of ledgestone. They said I could buy a square foot of three colors, take it home, and then return it. I believed them. My contractor spent thousands of dollars picking up the one we liked best. I just returned the sample 3sqft, and they said they dont take returns. They LIED to me! I cant remember the last time I was this furious with a vendor. Now every time I look at my house I will think about those liars that provided the stone. This was one of the two rockeries my Contractor recommended. I will be asking him to remove Payless from his list.

We were recommended a mixture of dirt for raised garden beds that has been horrible for our plants! The dirt is so hard that the roots cannot grow! Our plants have been in the ground for 3 months and have not grown. It has been a huge waste of our time and energy trying to get these plants to grow in this dirt, let alone money we spent on the soil, plants, and water. I would not recommend their dirt to anyone! When I called to let them know, they said the formula they gave to us is what they would recommend to everyone. Dont let them fool you as well!

We went there today, came home with a nectarine, an apricot, two pomegranates, a blueberry, and three rosemary plants for a hedge. The selection was very good--I think substantially better than the much fancier nursery near us. Prices were very good. The two girls at the checkout knew very little, the man they got to answer our question (about when fruit came ripe--the tags gave the timing for Modesto, were in San Jose) wasnt much better. We later spoke to a fourth staff member, however, who was both knowledgeable and helpful.

I bought a yard of premixed concrete. The concrete was good. The price is little bit high. The real problem came when I return the trailer. They made me to clear the trailer all the way down to the metal. I spent good 40 min to wash, clean with my hands. They provided a brush for you to use, but the brush is so worn that it doesnt do the job. I probably would not come back again. But if I do, I will bring my power wash and power brush with me.

This is my neighborhood nursery, and I like it because it is independently owned, and the staff actually know their stuff. I buy native plants from here on a regular basis, and Wanda Olson is extremely knowledgeable about growing them. They have a small native plant section which can satisfy most gardeners new to natives. They used to carry Annies Annuals, and I hope they bring them back soon.

They were particularly helpful when I needed repair parts for soaker hoses, which I couldnt find anywhere else. Shopped here many times in the past three years: gravel, mulch, compost, and lots of plants. Ive been landscaping my large property and Im not a pro so their advice has been helpful.
