Ive been going to Total Beauty Experience for many years. I go there to get my hair cut, Kay is awesome and my hair always looks great when shes done with it. The last time I was there, I went looking for new make-up because I wasnt happy with what I was using, MAC. Dorian helped me with finding a good make-up. He showed me how to use it, he spent at least 30 minutes showing me different products and testing colors on me. He was so knowledgeable and kind. I came home with a new make-up line and I know how to use it. The make-up I bought (smashbox) is really pretty. It doesnt look globbed on, it looks natural. Ive always had great experiences at Total Beauty but this last visit was the best. Thank you, Dorian for all of your help. Ill see you again when Im ready to buy more make-up. Kay, youre a very talented hair dresser. Thank you both!!!

Thank the lord they have rebooted the staff. I come in here regularly but they would always do the stereotypical "follow the person of color" narrative. I started complaining and now they dont follow me but just give attitude as I ring up as if there annoyed they cant follow me around. Its annoying cause I literally go to the same isle EVERY time, about every 2-3 months. Grab one maroccanoil hair gel for $20, pay and leave. I honestly slightly wonder how they keep winning "best of sacramento" awards besides their large selection I just wish they were GENUINELY FRIENDLY!! And acted happy to assist me/happy to have a job. I dont have to come its just close and a few bucks cheaper than online.

Went there for the first time. Huge selection but man, this girl was up my ass the whole time. I just needed to know where the product was that I needed. She tried to sell me on the more expensive version. The cashier was rude until I told her it was my first time then, for whatever reason, she was super nice. Decided to write this review because I was getting my hair done and asked the 2 ladies I was talking to, if the been there. It was all bad. Nothing nice to say and it all about how bad the staff is...

I was greeted nicely yet no one offered any assistance and I was followed around the store by the male employee with the purple hair.

Not a proper salon products store. No supplies for hair stylist. Should be called "cosmetics supply", learn the difference! !!
