There was a nice selection of guns which I thought to be pretty reasonably priced. There was plenty of staff members and customers in there at my time of visit and I was asked if I needed help several time within minutes of being there as well which I found very helpful. They made an effort to help me get my gun I wanted. I saw someones review claiming they charge $75 for private party transfers, to clarify it is 75 to order a gun to them and $25 for a private party where both the seller and buyer are present. I didnt see or experience any sales pushing (other review) and observed one employee going over the many features and characteristics of guns with a customer and explaining his personal view as well as what he would recommend for the own customers personal interests, which Is something I like to see. (not everyone is looking for the same thing in guns). Also about another review stating the warranty problem which is often, as with most products, needed to be taken up with the manufacturer. Also always check store hours, most gun stores have short hours of operation, not something to be upset about when you come late.

As a complete novice when it comes to firearms, I went into the store seeking advice about purchasing a gun for home defense. I had never been in a gun shop before and was uneasy about my ignorance, but the staff welcomed me as if I was a long-time customer. From the outset they made me feel both welcome and comfortable. Joe patiently discussed various options and showed me examples from their stock. He did not try to nudge me toward more expensive models. In fact, he ended up recommending a less expensive gun as most appropriate for my needs. There was absolutely no pressure to buy. I left the store definitely feeling better informed about my options. When I decide, I will definitely buy my gun from them and give them all my later business. Highly recommended.

With such a large selection of products online in the endless race to the bottom, its refreshing to find a family run business such as this. The Collins have managed to create a local hotspot for all of the firearms enthusiasts in the area with their extensive knowledge, selection, and fair pricing. If they dont have it, they will get it fast and ensure theyre giving you a solid deal. To top it off, they do not have any attitude regarding transfers and get you in and out very quickly. This is especially nice considering how little they make doing these so I always make sure to grab a few boxes of ammo and anything else I didnt realize I needed after browsing all of the various accessories.

Went in to purchase my very first gun, first gun store I have ever entered. I was excited about the AR, they spent well over 30 minutes explaining to me all the features the AR has to offer as well as other guns that would fit my needs for considerably less money. They werent the cheapest place, but they arent over priced. They fitted all my add ons for free and also put another gun on my party transfer, so if I decided later on I wouldnt have to pay another $25. Good place, recommend a visit.

The store is located at an older part of Livermore but once you get inside you will be awed by their great firearms selection and the knowledge of every staff member there, I had the pleasure in working with Jim on a purchase, He was really helpful with my AR questions. They carry some fancy custom guns too--including Nighthawks. The accessory selection is also superb. Definitely worth a visit whether or not you are in the market for a firearm!

Expect really good customer service and the best firearm selection in the Bay Area ... They do get busy but when its your turn, its all about you. Support this local business because they support our CA gun rights which are eroding little by little. Randy was the best, rest in peace. Kudos to the excellent staff for keeping Randys dream alive and making it better.

What a disorganized mess. Most gun shops run a tight ship and have everything in order to maintain a solid customer base. Not at J&R. This place has the rudest staff, managers, and owners. They are certainly not very knowledgeable and couldnt answer many technical questions. I will never recommend this shop to anyone. Stay away, dont waste your time.

It has been a couple of decades since I bought a gun. The last time I bought a gun it wasnt even in this state. Because of this, I wasnt familiar with all the laws regarding buying a gun in this state that are currently in effect. The staff, who are very knowledgeable, helped me navigate the paperwork. Im very happy with my new gun.

Not sure if something has changed over the last few years.Their reviews started well enough. I find them hit and miss. Some folks are really helpful and act like they enjoy their jobs, the others will treat you like you broke into their personal tree house without the secret password. Worth the extra drive to Tracy Rifle and Pistol.

Also when I came in there were a lot of people in the store, which is by itself a solid recommendation from the market (and experienced buyers would very likely be glad to share their personal experience with the guns you might be interested in).

I found that this store had a very high volume of customers when I arrived but still asked if I needed help, and when I found that I actually did need help they were very effective in giving me the help I needed... Not bad on the prices too...

People here are friendly and very knowledgeable, I often get valuable advice from them. Price is pretty reasonable. Today they helped me put on a red dot on a dove tail rear sight for only $20.
