Literally -just got back from there. I read the reviews, visited their website, and called them to verify if they had the infamous Strawberry Donut and the Tiger Tail -which they said they had. So at 1am I drove up there to pick up a dozen donuts. Was it worth the 1hr there and back? Yes. Its late night Thurs, technically Fri morning at 3:33am right now and when I arrived there at 2am, to my surprise there was a short line. I spoke to the locals, many of which grew up in the city of Glendora (and some who even lived blocks away). The educated me on the seasonal donuts (peach, strawberry, peanut butter, etc.) When I asked about their favorite donuts -they mentioned, Donut Mans Seasonal Donut (which right now is Strawberry) and the Tiger Tail. Felt in-synch insomuch as it was also said to me over the phone. However, they added that pretty much all their donuts are good. When I arrived it seemed to me that they cook donuts non-stop, as I witnessed them pulling a fresh batch of tiger tails out of the oven! The service was helpful and friendly. The local vibe was outstanding. The Glendora crowd were good friendly and informative peeps. Heres the kicker: I saw some chocolate strawberries: plump and ripe and staring me in the face. Being that it was early early early morning, I decided to purchase 8 (eight of them). Without looking at the price of what a dozen donuts (6 strawberry donuts and 6 tiger claws) and 8 chocolate strawberries cost... The total came out to be $38.10 Not complaining but it is worth mentioning: This is the most Ive ever spent at a donut shop. KNOW THIS: 1 Strawberry donut weighs a TON! I couldnt even finish it! Now Im staring at 11 donuts and 8 chocolate strawberries! A very heavy eat. The tiger claw is light on the sugar, which less is more and in my opinion adds to the taste. I started karma-ing them about... Stoping at the local 24 Hour Fitnesses in the South OC to chat it up and give out donuts! And when the sun rises in a couple hours, Ill be passing some of them out to pals at the beach. Ill be keeping the choco strawberries though : ) Will I go here again? Sure. Will I order a dozen donuts and choc strawberries? No. Next time 1 donut. I need to tame the beast thats my belly!

You know what, I was kinda disappointed. Not to say that their donuts arent great... They really are! But... I thought I would be a little more blown away. They didnt have the popular Strawberry stuffed donut that everyone raves about. Thats fine, Im not a huge fan of strawberries anyway. The real disappointment came was that the donuts werent fresh so it didnt really live up to what I was expecting after reading all the reviews. My fault though I guess for not going at an optimal time. Oh well, I guess I can only imagine how good their donuts must taste fresh out of the oven! Still, Donut Man still gets four stars from me since their donuts really are good. They are unique which is always good. So far I liked the tiger tail the most! I have one more apple crumbled crisp left that Im saving for later so hopefully that is good. The raspberry cream puff was just okay though. Oh! And there was no line when we went and the service from the guys working there was really friendly. Ill definitely stop by again if Im in the area, but I dont think I would go out of the way for it, mostly because Im not a huge fan of donuts to begin with anyway.

Stopped here last night about 11pm, on my way home, to pick up a box of donuts, which are always so fresh and delicious! And after I parked and got in line to get the donuts an electrical fire broke out in the back of my van. Immediately most of the people in line and those standing around enjoying their donuts rushed for water and got the donut employees attention to bring water. One employee ran out with a fire extinguisher and put out the fire, while others called the fire department and ran out with large cups of water to help. Thanks be to God we all got out of the van safe and noone was hurt. I must mention one of the employees name, Mark, I believe he was the manager on duty. He stayed with me and kept us calm and made sure all was taken care of for us until the tow truck got there. He even graciously gave me a box of donuts including a strawberry one (which are delicious) and helped me stay calm in the fright of the moment. Thank you Mark and the employees of Donut Man and all of the other "good neighbors" that so graciously reached out to help and lend a hand in our time of need.

Donut Man is a special place, an unassuming little stand in Glendora that holds some pretty spectacular treats. The star attraction is the $4 Strawberry Donut (though only available when strawberries are in season, otherwise you can look forward to enjoying a peach donut). I picked up a Strawberry Donut, a mass of glazed strawberries stuffed into a large bun-like donut. Its basically impossible to eat without a fork, so if youre into convenience this aint for you. But man, it was goooood. The bottom portion of the donut is the size of a seat cushion, which was actually kinda nice after enjoying so many strawberries. Though, one knock against this place is that the orange juice is crap, but thats not really why you go. Also, if only they had to option to serve their donuts warm... Donut Man is open 24 hours a day, so obviously its best to go late at night, when calories no longer matter and bad decisions become good ones. Apparently the tiger tails are incredible, my foodie compatriots berated me for not getting one of those as well. Next time.

~Donuts~ The Tiger Tail is a twisted foot-long donut. Its glazed and the other ingredient is chocolate, I think. They didnt have anymore so I had to wait for 10 minutes. When I got the Tiger Tail it was warm and very long! It tasted so fresh, sweet, and fluffy. The Strawberry Donut is glazed, sliced in the middle and filled with big Strawberries and strawberry syrup. The Strawberry was a bit sour but it went well with the sweet donut. It had too much strawberry syrup, I prefer less. ~Highlight~ I never tasted freshly baked Tiger Tail Donuts, it was so delicious! My small Donut Adventure with my daughter and her friend turned out to be a success. ::Customer Service:: The staff is friendly, especially Daniel. ~Tips~ ~Eat the Strawberry Donut as soon as possible. It can be soggy the next day. ~I believe they only accept Cash (they have an ATM). ~Notes~ ~Depending on the Season, they have the following donuts: Fresh Strawberry, Fresh Peach, Peanut Butter, Pumpkin, and Cream Puff.

For the last 35 years of my life, Donuts Man has been the place to go for Donuts. I just wish they had Apple Fritters available more! You need to make more of these Jim! I also think the critique fro not taking ATMs and then calling Jim greedy for a machine that does not even belong to him is just silly. Where do people get off attacking someones character when they do not even know the truth. Generally outside companies place the ATMS and get all the profits. The business benefits from the convenience to their customers that may be cash poor. As far as Jim not taking the debit /Credit cards himself, for such small transactions it is not cost effective to have so many transactions. Unless you are a big chain like McD and the like, the charges can be excessive and would have to be passed along to the customer. So if you do not like the excess fees at these things, get some cash at your ATM or turn out your couch cushions Thanks Jim!
