The owner, Morod, convinced me a product that he suggested would work in a way other than its intended purpose. When the his product didnt work at home, I came to the store to return or exchange it. When I arrived, the owner flipped out and told me he would not accept an exchange because - he claims - he previously "warned me" it might "burn out." What disturbs me now, as I reflect on the incident, is that he didnt take the time to listen to what the problem was. If he had, he would have realized that the issue had nothing to do with the product "burning out," but rather that his product simply never functioned as a he said it would. Instead, he lost his cool, leaned over the counter and became verbally violent and aggressive. I felt uncomfortable and unsafe and a friend needed to step in to mediate. The owner claimed that I was "bothering" his employees earlier in the week; thankfully an employee witness overheard this and vouched for me, as Ive actually been quite nice and cordial. I had to come to this store 3 times in one week because of the owners absence (apparently only he can work with customers on these issues on the days he chooses to be present). To anybody that decides to shop there, please do your research on items and know what to buy before going there, or else you may be victim to being ripped off or mistreated by the owner. Im leaving one star because while he ultimately allowed me to exchange my product, the experience continues to leave a bad taste in my mouth. In response to owners comment: The owners response to my review clearly confirms the extent to which he and his business are willing to put a lie in black and white. His lip service about taking customer service seriously is comical; his "customer service" was quite lacking in my case (3 trips to the store to have my issue addressed ...really?). Moreover, his response indicates his twisted belief that past reviews should protect him from unethical behavior. This is a clear case of selling a faulty product and then attempting to backdoor his way out of responsibility for it by claiming that he warned me of a possible "product burn out." He continues to perpetuate this fairy tale in his response above; when in actuality, his response simply re-demonstrates that his is not willing to "get it" regarding the products functionality, which he misrepresented. My experience did not happen without several witnesses. I considered letting all of this go, without a review, but his behavior during the exchange and afterward continued to appall me. His claim that I "broke" the 2nd exchange product, and his ban from the store, are comical attempts to save face on YELP and, frankly, to his employees, as he plainly embarrassed himself when he lost his temper ... as if I would want to return to support such an unethical establishment, yuck. As to the exchanged product that I "broke," Ive submitted it to the manufacturer who is now replacing it after verifying that the charger malfunctioned and is covered under the warranty. Ill be sure to submit pictures when I can. Im glad the owner mentioned it because the public should know that he sold a 2nd faulty product in the exchange and was a bit of a jerk about it, again. Frankly, the owner needs to improve his ability to hold memories, not seem so out of it, and avoid showing so much white area around his eyes when hes upset.

Up In Smoke in Costa Mesa has a great selection of glass, lets start there. From Pure Glass to Phat Tubes to MIOs and Liquids, Jerome Baker pieces, RooRs, Zobs, and a very impressive selection of off-brand glass, to boot. Great variety of concentrate pieces, as well, including stand-alone hash pieces and nail-dome/skillet-bell set-ups and components. The owners and managers always have open ears to their customers to keep on top of the game, carrying all and any product thats in demand, and they keep themselves knowledgeable of their products. Ive always found a trend of good quality glasswares, for any price range really. Even their most impressive pieces arent looking to put a bullet hole in your wallet, relatively. Ive personally bought thousands in glass here over time, and Ive never been dissatisfied with the product, service, or price. As a tobacco shop they do a great job of upholding an inventory of all your standard cigarettes, as well as an expanding variety of smaller-brand smokes such as Natural Shermans or Du Maurier. If brought to their attention that their customer base would appreciate another selection, you can be sure theyll get the ball rolling to start carrying what you need. They have a great selection of hookah pipes from compact travel hookahs to large multi-hose set-ups, accompanied by a very, very vast selection of Starbuzz, Acid, Fusion, and a few other brands of shisha tobacco. Quick-light coals, natural coals, coconut coals, all at a fair price. Available here as well are vital accessories such as the Hookah Flip bowl and Steam Stones. Moving down the shelf just a bit farther youll find yourself looking at a decently sized humidor amass with quality cigars: Zodiacs, Romio y Julieta, etc. Torches, lighters, ash trays, incense, rolling tobacco, papers, herbal potpourri (spice) blends, candy, drinks, grinders, screens (glass and mesh). Bottom line: Ive visited many, many smoke shops in my time and since finding Up In Smoke in Costa Mesa Ive not made a purchase anywhere else. Ive perused, but everything Ive found elsewhere has led me back to Up In Smoke for certainty of a good price and excellent service. Theyve never let me down.

I absolutely love this smoke shop. Make sure you dont confuse it with that faker on Harbor Blvd. THIS IS THE OG UP IN SMOKE OKAY my boyfriend, Gavin and I have been coming here for almost 2 years. The guy that owns it typically mans the shop, but thats perfectly fine with me because hes such a great guy. Hes very nice, very informative and knowledgeable about the merchandise, and usually will include some complementary hemp wick (promoting healthy smoking, nice!). Sometimes his little dog, Paco will be hanging out back and will say hi , which is fine with me because Paco is adorable and sweet. I think this makes the experience very personal and comfortable, feelings both associated with what i might buy at a smoke shop . A+ ,, The price range is pretty inexpensive, the selection is vast. Any customer could find what theyre looking for here, whether theyre looking for something with aesthetic value, or practicality, you are sure to find it here. Up in smoke is #1, and always will be for me .

The costumer service is amazing, they are patient and I never feel rushed. The owners and staff are very knowledgeable and funny. They are down to earth. All my questions were answered in depth and then some. This is my go to smoke shop. Up in Smoke have everything you need. They have wide variety of glass and carry all the name brands. If they dont carry it, they will do their best to try and bring it into their shop. This really is a one-stop-shop, I love it here. They have a wide variety of Vapes, water pipes, hand pipes, bubs, grinders, paper, E-cigs, hookahs, cigars, candy, beverages and their prices cant be beat. The staff is always willing to work out a deal to help us out. BEST SMOKE SHOP EVER!!

Went here for glass on some good reviews only to find that its just another cheap import store with horribly thin Chinese glass. Maybe if you needed an oil burner this is the spot for you. I recommend if your looking for any glass reefers, ziggys, one stop, check your head, smokkez , one world or even the other upinsmoke off of harbor is 10 times better! Waste of my time here!
