First of all, Psycho Donuts has really toned down their insensitivity in a lot of ways, which actually has made the place even more enjoyable to visit. Second, the donuts are the sort that taste so good and make you smile so genuinely that you completely forget about whatever is bothering you. Drinks are sold with cane sugar used for sweetening, and are extraordinarily delicious. The above pictured white padded cell is a lot of fun for pictures. The cashiers are always fun to talk to and seem to be very much aware of the sort of things weird people like to talk about (like Doctor Who in my case). Its family friendly, yet manages to get away with selling fake-syringe mechanical pens. I think the place is a gem more on par with a weird amalgam of bits of every other gemstone, totally unique, than anything so pure as to be boring. Similarly, that lack of purity will probably turn off a lot of people who prefer a more conservative and normal approach to donuts. All I know for sure, however, is that Psycho Donuts is a great place to take friends who really need a break from the stresses of normal living.

Oh wow - a totally unique donut experience. I recommend coming to this place just to experience it. Upon walking in you are greeted by the employees who are wearing nurse outfits giving you the crazy vibe of an asylum (I mean that in the best way possible). While I was picking out a donut to try, which was a difficult feat sine they had a ton of options, they offered me bubble wrap to pop as I made my decision. Such a cooky idea - I totally loved it. I ended up going with the Crunch Hunch and my fiance went with their version of an apple fritter. Both were great donuts in the fact that they were very different, and I definitely want to come back, but they werent the highest quality donuts that I have had. If you are looking for hot and fresh donuts, this isnt the place for you (try Stans donuts in Santa Clara for that), but if you want to try a new and crazy dessert just for fun, absolutely come here. They also make donut cakes which looked crazy awesome, so there might be a birthday cake future in this place.

I was really looking forward to trying this place out but I ended up being very disappointed. I got three different donuts because I couldnt decide, they all looked amazing. My first bite of the maple bacon one was revolting, stale doughnut, not properly risen and absolutely soaked with old rancid tasting grease. I had to spit it out. After that I didnt really want to eat any more donuts but I was hungry and that was all I had, so I tried a chocolate one with cookie crumbs on top. It didnt taste as old but the flavor of the nasty grease was still there so I only choked down one bite and threw the rest in the trash. In my opinion a place that specializes in donuts should have fresh donuts everyday. These are obviously made way ahead of time with cheap ingredients and the whole theme of the donuts and atmosphere looks stupid. Oh and lastly, the service was friendly enough but with only 4 people ahead of me in line it took over ten minutes, the staff moved slow and didnt seem to care.

Let me say, I am glad I live in Sacramento, because if I lived closer to Psycho Donuts, I would be super fat. These donuts are not just silly and creative (I agree people shouldnt be so sensitive) but they are super good. I never would have thought donut + marshmallo+ anything would cause an emotional reaction but pure bliss is the only way I could explain it. It seems so easy to blend these flavors and I am suprised other places dont. I cannot believe how many donuts I ate, but they were some of the best things I have ever had and by far the best donuts ever. My only criticism is that they werent super fresh and some were a bit old tasting. That being said, I was there after 1, so perhaps that should be expected. I would reccomend that everyone who likes donuts try it out. You really wont be disappointed.

I dont want my money to encourage these inconsiderate and insensitive people to exist in our business community. What next crispy cripples? Swine flue punch? Herpie Pie? Obese fudge? Crack cocaine frosting? Alcoholics hangover soda, Making fun of people is not cool and neither is smoking cigarettes. These people want to make money off of making fun of the mentally ill. Like yeah thats the cool thing to do now days. Not! Havent we learned better by now? Dont shop here. How many soldiers are coming back from war with massive head traumas are going to find this shops existence loving and supportive of their condition?

Drove by a bunch of PROTESTERS today 5/17/2009 on our way to the Campbell festival. We didnt think much of it continued on with the festival 20 minutes walk through and on the way back decided to go in. Very Pleasant People. Donuts Were Very Fresh. A Bit Pricey. Our Boys loved how fresh they were and how they were decorated!!!! ( 20, 19, 7) NOW I have to say to all the protesters out there sweltering in the HOT HEAT Thanks!!! We would of Never Stopped if it wasnt for you and all you publicity standing on the corner with NEON signs that werent very readable. But hey it caught our attention .....YUMMY FRESH DONUTS

Love this place. Amazing donuts and amazing staff. Thought about ordering my gf a dozen roses for her bday. Decided a dozen donuts and coffee delivered to her work is more edible. I called and asked if they did anything special, and although they dont have bday specific things, they threw in a little something for her and decorated the box with some cute doodles. The gf loved it, and I have earned major points. Yeesssssss P.S. Im not that dumb. Im still getting her flowers. But shhhhhh dont spoil the surprise.

If you are looking for something unique for a treat this is the place. Great taste, good blends of flavors for their unique doughnuts and treats an semi-reasonable prices. Most standard doughnuts area are just given one special topping a fun name and then uncharged to $1.25. There are a good amount in the $3-4 range that have a real theme to them multiple layers of flavor and are truly worth it. Its a shame I was only there to get for 2 people... I wanted to try more and I will be back.

Dysfunctional and delectable. The doughnuts, like many reviews state, range from great to mediocre but overall are delicious. The freshness can be a factor, meaning consume quickly!! These arent your usual preservative laden doughnuts (well except for the captain crunch ones), if left out in the local breakroom they will probably be stale by afternoon ....or quite possibly grow monsterous legs and run away! Remember its all about fun for everyone and bubble wrap for the psychotic ones!

One of the most unique donut shops around. Nothing really compares to the fun variety and selection offered by Pyscho Donuts. If you want to make sure you can get an exact order it is best to order online the day before so they can have your box ready to go. Walk in works as well, but not all the same donuts are available same day. Prices vary depending on size and complexity. They are great for work or large group events because people can share many of the options.
